@@jasonmichael3676 I agree. Looking at America now, not worried about the insideous infiltration of China everywhere. About all the counties in the world have fought bloody battles for freedom and they are so willing and complacent to allow China to slowly infiltrate all levels of their society and government.
How beautiful for this cup to have a historic family lineage. It's still very difficult, I'm sure knowing that his family had suffered the horrendous travesty of the Holocaust and how his grandparents brought this cup with them to the USA and kept and used it within their family. May this family always have peace... Thank you for sharing.
To hear the phrase "final solution" is truly chilling, and the fact that the family left in 1938. I had a friend in high school whose family also left Germany for the US about that same time.
I have an uncle that lives in Augsburg. I am from Mannheim, Germany. And yes, I know where Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is. I have been there many of times. The silver cup is gorgious. I attended the Sarasota Road Show, in Florida last year. I had a blast. I met my favorite Poster Appraiser there as well. His name is Nico Lowry.
Yes, Neustadt an der Weinstraße is near Mannheim (I am born and raised in NW) . But he says, it's in the south of Munich. That's geographical incorrect. NW is in the south west of Germany and Munich on the southeaster side. I know Neustadt an der Waldnaab, that's definitely in Bavaria, and the names look quit similar 😄
Strange appraisal. First she said it's rare to see silver dated that old, then said these cups are common, then she finished by saying how rare they are. Amazing provenance though.
1654 and kept in the same family that whole time?! That is incredible -- there is a Great American Novel in this one item. I don't even think you can put a price on something like this. This is beyond price.
That is not the story, she clearly points out it has a non Jewish crest on it, is not a Kiddush cup and was originally owned by someone else. The guy says at the start he can only date it back to his great grandfather late 19th century.
Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is not even close to Munich. It's like saying Boston is close to Chicago. Munich is so far in the south its almost shares a border with Austria, Neustadt a.D. Weinstrasse (translated to newtown at the whinestreet) like 300miles northwest from there, which is in german relations almost a quarter of the entire country. So far, that's it from my geography lessons. Greetings from Berlin folks
Another interrupter. Let the lady talk. You don't have to constantly interject. We don't need the running commentary. It is distracting and annoying. This is sadly a bad habit too many people have.
It’s worth sooo much more as an object of beauty and a historic icon, than you could get melting down silver gilt. It’s too bad more folks don’t appreciate the workmanship and beauty of antiques.
I'm a American Puerto Rican and Irish man. There will always be a remembrance of the Holocaust. If you dont remember, it will repeat. This goes for the Armenian Genocide, the Sudan Holocaust and the Ukrainian Holodomor, et al.
@@paulthrutner9114 I get what you're saying, but still, we must remain humane and put ourselves in their shoes. We must feel their sorrow so that we can prevent this from happening again. One love.
Absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad that his wonderful family continues their tradition.
Wow. His family sounds incredible..This is something movies are made of...fabulous
Thank you for sharing your story sir. These are the stories we must never forget.❤
We've already forgotten. Most people seem perfectly willing to give up their freedoms.

Could have made a really great movie just from his story.
Probably worth more than the cup
Gr8 piece of history... Love this amazing cup it's simply beautiful!!!

A beautiful thing, and such a story!

Awesome family story!
The stories that come from that time......
I found myself wishing it was worth more, even though something as precious as that, I don't imagine would ever be sold.
unbelievable story.. imagine having to sell up and escape. amazing
Hi from Augsburg! Now I know where the pineapple comes from:)
I wanna hear more of his family stories!
I would surely keep this cup for sure.. so rare 😊

Holy sh*t what an incredible family story.
There a million of similar stories unfortunately

Very interesting and informative. Thanks
GORGEOUS!
Sounds like Mr. Lippmann talking to Ellen...
Moving from Germany in 1938 was very smart.
What a bittersweet story.
That’s it jeezzz it’s 376 years old ssmmhh !!!
Go pick up some dirt or a rock somewhere, it'd likely also hundreds years old...doesn't mean its worth anything! ;-)
FYI, Neustadt an der Weinstraße seems to be located north of Munich, south of Frankfurt.
Right, Chicago seems to be located west of NY, east of LA.
Great video
I think she vastly undervalued it.
Kerry’s voice sounds exactly like Jodie Foster.
Clarice....
Her voice sounds like her voice ! 😆
she sounds like ellen degeneres
Dammit, it does now…
I have been to Augsburg several times.
Happy they got out!
“Oy vay” !!!!!! If only the cup could talk WOW
His grandfather was born in 1877 let that sink in!
THANK GOD HIS FAMILY EMIGRATED IN THE LATE THIRTIES!

Something about this woman kept bothering me the entire video, it was towards the end that I realized she sounds just like Ellen DeGeneres 😂😂😂
I can always seem to guess the price by how many views the video has.
Thats gotta be worth more
Kerry's voice sounds like Ellen Degeneres'.
It sounds just like her.
OMG!! She totally does
Yesss!!
My goodness you are right if you close your eyes it could be her lol.
Someone else saidJodie Foster, hmmmm, what’s the common denominator?
Thought it was going to be worth at least $10,000. Guess not.
SO INTERESTING… IM ALWAYS INTERESTED IN THE STORIES….WHAT HORRORS THEY ENDURED!!!
Is this Ellen DeGeneres? Forreal
Grandmother was wise and saw the disaster coming. No doubt she warned her brother but he wasn’t as fluid of mind.
I wish they would polish that cup.
Sorry, this is not correct. Jews in Augsburg go back to 1624
Just keep swimming
Lovely cup, such a sad sad story. Horrible what happened to the Jewish creed.....
lady sounds like Ellen Degeneres as a grandmother.
Wow, yes, she really does.

LMAO THIS GUY SPOUTING ABSOLUTE BS
You know the new in him was pissed that it wasn’t valued at more
his jewish blood coulnt stop him from having the family heirloom appraised XD
So anyone from any other walk of life can get an heirloom appraised but not a Jew?
