Purchased UAQ 8.4 w/nav 13 months ago. It began rebooting every 5 minutes. Infotainment folks said it will be $650 to repair. Why would I pay that essentially every year. Don’t waste your money. Stick with your basic factory head unit and use your phone.
I just installed my, but I got mine directly from the company which is about $1500 cheaper. Don’t get me wrong. I love this company, I bought other things that I wanted from them which are great but when it came to this system, go direct.
Updatable software? Also does climate control app show on screen even though it’s useless? I dont want to change my climate control panel out since my Jeep isn’t dual climate capable.
@@Luwinkle How did you get a 8.4 with a Sport S? Did you get one with the Sun and Sound package? I thought that it was an option on all 8.4s but maybe Off-Road Pages is only on certain models.

There are OEM replacement A/C control units out there that give you auto climate control and a volume control knob back. You do need to update the Jeep for it to work though, that’s my understanding.

The 8.4 system is a mess. I have a 19 JLU Sahara with the 8.4 "Premium" Alpine system and I'm currently on my third replacement that literally breaks every drive (looses Apple Car Play connectivity, volume locks, XM station locks, screen totally blacks out). I brought my car in for service to repair again (I literally have filed a half dozen requests for assistance from FCA but their UConnect Reps just string me along). If you're a music aficionado...run...run as fast as you can from this system.
Almost forgot - video declares you can change climate on screen - NOPE ....not unless you swap for a $450 Climate board. This video needs to be remade with truth please
The entire first part of the video I was thinking "oh, ok just a simple upgrade to the factory radio with a bigger screen, should be a few hundred bucks".....when she mentioned the price I practically spit out my drink. That radio better give me a foot massage for $1,600

I noticed on the install that you did not put in a navigation antenna The other radio did not have a navigation antenna

I have factory 8.4" in a Sport S and don't recall any off-road pages.

What’s the point of this if it doesn’t include Off-Road pages and an inclinometer?? That what I’d want it for.

They provide an OBD genie to program
They should give you a security code if they don’t then go directly to the company.

Once we add this we no longer have a physical volume knob, any products to kinda give us that manual feel back to the jeep?

Rear camera didn’t work on mine.
Unhook battery terminals - then reapply. Mine worked after I did that.
Sad you all increased price over $600 in less than a year. 40% markup. Talk about PRICE GOUGING
