Top 5 Handguns of SHOT Show 2024
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лип 2024
- I just returned from SHOT Show 2024 and I spent the entire week, from opening to close, checking out all of the guns of the show. There were plenty of great pistols from Glock, Beretta, H&K, Smith & Wesson, Canik, Taran Tactical Innovations, Zev, and more - but which five were the best? Here's my opinion.
««« GEAR USED IN THIS VIDEO »»»
• Fanny Pack: Hands down the best fanny pack out there is the Possum (or the larger Bandicoot) from Helikon-Tex: amzn.to/3S7VeC2
• Eyepro - James usually wears the Electric Knoxville sunglasses: amzn.to/3zBFcrh
OR
• Oakley M-Frame Ballistic Sunglasses amzn.to/3vpANHS
• Earpro - James and Ryan use Walker Razors: amzn.to/3aCv9rb

Hey James, ran into everyone from TFB but you I think, but then I didn't spend any time at the strip clubs either. ;)
I lost my voice from some super covid bug I picked up at shot, so we have that in common. Take it easy brother.
I just love how James pigeon holed Zev into making their new gun accept p365 mags... Because now if they don't, everyone will be disappointed.
So true, great comment.
Love that the 365 and other guns are becoming the preferred over glock
0:28 **Honorable Mention** Glock 49 & Canik/TTI Combat Master
0:46 S&W "Ultimate Carry" airweight revolvers
2:10 Zev OZ9sc
3:33 Beretta/LTT PX4 Compact Carry II
4:36 Daniel Defense H9
5:40 Beretta 30X Tomcat
Whats James git against the Nig211
you sir are doing Gods work
Thank you. Wish more content providers did this!
Just a minor correction... the shot that started the First World War wasn't a .32 ACP. It was a .380 ACP (FN Model 1910 pistol). Blame the little .32 for a lot of things, but not for starting a war.
They even ordered the 380 version due to it being harder hitting and still concealable
Wasn’t the PPK mustached WW2 man shot himself with a .32 and not .380?
@@stoops187nope. He still runs in the streets of Argentina to this day.
@@jessesando8582 You can usually find him at pick up futbal games
@@stoops187 It probably was a .32, but that's ending a war, not starting one. ;)
The new PX4 not being optic cut from the factory was a HUGE mistake considering how many people already dont take it seriously, especially at that price point regardless of how good it may be. Kind of just seems like they intentionally worked out a deal to funnel optic cut work through a partner which stings.
Pistol red dots are overrated. I was using them over a decade ago before they were cool and now I'm back to iron sights.
@@cvdubya5774You’re SO cool.
@@cvdubya5774 Ok boomer. Red dot tech sucked a decade ago so theres really no comparison between then and now. Fact of the matter is they will make most people shoot noticeably better with the proper training when compared to iron sights. Complain about it all you want, they arent going anywhere anytime soon.
@@cvdubya5774😂
Yeah but Beretta's RDO solution on the 92 is ass, especially if you use Beretta's OEM plates, so I think I'd rather send it to LTT anyway instead of getting whatever half-baked bullshit Beretta would throw on it.
For anyone interested, I saw James at a grocery store right outside of Vegas during Shot Show the other day
I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Can confirm, I saw it too
James at a grocery store? Let me guess he was buying exlax and condoms.😉
This happens to me every time I go to the store to buy some copypasta
Jesus...apparently, there are some people in the comments who don't realize this is like a 10 year old (but still funny, imo) copypasta
TLDR: Romance Novel.
PX4 is the first handgun I ever bought for myself. It's also the one handgun that I will never sell.
I love when people find a gun that they just really really gel with. Rock on, my good man.
You guys knocked it out of the park…just like being there but without getting VD. Thanks to you, Hop, Luke and Ryan for hustling for us. 👍🏻
0:57 I can tell you that this guy is 100% impressed.
luv muh vulvuhr.

Lol couldn’t have been an any fuddier looking dude either. Too funny!
"those of you who called this little revolver overpriced" ... lol, my exact laughing reaction when I watched the original video and he mentions the to you 💸😅
I told you he was serious!
Lol montucky cold snacks 😂
I have a mighty want for the 442 UC. I’ve been carrying the same 642 on and off but still consistently for the last 19 years. Bought it brand new when I was 21. It was my first handgun purchase in my name from an FFL.
I just want one of those double stack 1911s from Tisas.
Two 32 calibers in the top 5. What a time to be alive.
No joke.
For me the coolest new handgun at shot was easily the optics cut Kahr 1.5 stack that takes Sig P365 mags.
New Bobcat looks cool. Especially for a suppressor ready pocket pistol
Keep spittin James. Legit recap.
Canik TTI Combat Master my favorite from shot show
Facts! Dude said honorable mention 😂
That’s because canik didn’t pay him enough. @@fucore85
Awesome coverage and list
You guys killed it with the show coverage 👍🇺🇸
I would love to see Glock expand the 43x line
🤣🤣🤣
They did just release a 19x with an optic cut, threaded barrel & supressor height sights.
So maybe we will get some projects like that soon
@@pewpew9193 🤣🤣🤣
A 17 size slim gun.
Another nice clip. Keeping them short & sweet eliminates the get bored factor.
James, I absolutely love you and TFB TV, But can we please get longer videos occasionally
Had opportunity to fire the H9 today, amazing piece of work, Great trigger, great recoil mgmt, great optic system! Guess I need to start saving!
I shot it last week and was mad at how much I liked it. I was totally ready to hate it, but now I'm saving too. 🤷♂️🤑🤦♂️
If only it didn’t have proprietary mags.
@@iterationfackshet199025 bucks per mag, seems pretty reasonable to me.
What do you mean great trigger? It’s mushy as hell. Also ours for our rental counter already broke. The little clip that holds the recoil spring and guide rod sheared off.
@@brownmangaming1529 sorry to hear that, the sample I fired had the absolute best trigger action of any striker fired hand gun I have felt. As for the the breakage, it happens. let's see how they proceed.
I have been learning about the Glock 43 and 43x awesome pistols. Changing out the slide with the 48 pretty cool. I appreciate your work on your videos. Thank you
Having seen my friend's Zev jam 80 percent of the time when he first used it, and then after sending it back and getting it "fixed" it only jammed 50% of the time, I'm not impressed.
I have a coworker who shoots a lot of competitions. Between her and her bf, theyve had 7 zev pistols. All had problems. I dont even consider zev after hearing that.
Good to know thanks guys , it’s like my friend’s B&T jams every 5 shots what a piece for the price 😂
Great video and very informative.
You gotta love James, I mean you have too. He forces you to with those power sentences he produces. Freaking hilarious man. Great stuff!
Awesome! Great video boss!
1. Beretta 30X
2. Daniel Defense H9
3. Beretta / LTT PX4 Compact Carry 2
4. Zev OZ9 SC
5. S&W Ultimate Carry Weight Revolver
HM Canik Combat Master, Glock 49
New sub for you, James. Applaud the commentary and honest reviews. Cheers
Lol! I love the burnt out, jaded on the world, James Reeves!
Rolling, hard, rolling, dirty, it’s hilarious. Agreed on all
I enjoy the aesthetics of the original Hudson H9, but gotta give love to Daniel Defense for upping the quality of all the components and amazingly not increasing the price 👍 doing the lords work boys
I’m all about that S&W Airweight.
No lock on those Lipsey's S&Ws is already an excellent start, but you add in all of the other features (chamfered cylinder holes rock), plus a 32 H&R chambering that allows a J-frame to accommodate a sixth round over the usual five, and you've got yourself a winner on your hands. Can't wait to get my hands on one.
Glad to see the Hudson/DD H9 back, albeit without quite as cool looking of a cyberpunk aesthetic this time around, and I hope to see Beretta reinvent the Bobcat like they did the Tomcat too. The new blued Colt Python models excite me quite a bit too.
I love the # one. A true pocket gun. All you need.
Thanks for the list James. I'm really digging the Canik Combat Master and I think I'm gonna have to get me one to try out once they start shipping out.
I dig the list! Especially the px4 storm by LT with comp attachment/ rotating barrel looked really flat shooting. Something around $2k all decked out
Im super excited for yhe DD h9. I plan on getting one. That zev looks amazing. I love my 43x but it needs upgrades to be good.
I found a used LTT PX4 right after your video on it. Picked it up for $800 including a RMR and all the internal fixings. It blew my mind. It's such a good gun.
That's a steal with an rmr!
I’m def getting one of the new Beretta 30xs.. always loved those little pistols
The psa micro dagger magazines hold 15 and fit flush in the g43x with no mag release swap. Ive ran fmjs and hollow points and had a ton of luck with them. Theyre iffy during break in but once they’re good to go they’re much more reliable than the s15 gen 3 mags I had. It’s a lot cheaper than the zev as well.
I don't know if I should compare you to a thick slab of prime rib or a tall glass of wine, but either way, you got my mouth watering 🤤
James picked the Bobcat because he just likes to put his hands in his pockets and the suppressor adds a lot more to hold onto.
great video,,,james ,,,,thanks
Knowing James drinks Cold Snacks just made my knees weak 🫠
No lock guns trigger job titanium pins... im sold
Had a chance to shoot the PX4 and 30X at the Beretta range the Sunday before SHOT. Both had great action and were well balanced. The 30X will bite if your grip is too high. Have to run it like a revolver.
Great list.
7:18 I’m so happy with number one! I can hear the jokes now before I hit the send button. 😂
Bold choice of footage Considering the way James griped those revolvers at 1:12.
Should have asked the Archon guys to see some of the awesome unseen and unreleased handguns they were hiding in the bottom of the display cabinet. They let me feel 3 new releases that I am so excited about hopefully coming out in 2024. They were definitely my most exciting Shot Show 2024 release.
Brother of the best Mayor hits another one out of the park!
I wanted an 80X in.32…. Hopefully next year
1st I've heard of the. 32 ACP starting WW1. I've hard several times that it was the .380 ACP that started WW1. But still enjoy your videos!
Watching the TFB SHOT content got me through coof-19 part III
I hope we see a version of the "ultimate carry" in 327 magnum personally. Even if it did need to be built a little heavier.
PX4!PX4!PX4! Also, already have an order in for one of those J frames. I'd heard rumors, and they did not disappoint.
I'm glad the px4 is getting some love. I have the tan one and love it. Next upgrade will be a Ltt trigger
One simply safe ad! Hell ya James. Keep the humor, screw the sniveling gripers. Haha
*The Teran influenced Canik, and the S&W Airweight were happening, all the rest were*
*Thanks for taking the time to search for something worthwhile at SHOT Show 2024, in this innovation lacking, dynamical backsliding World , and making this video.*
*I would have slit my wrists if I paid the time and money.* 👍⭐⭐
Cold snacks are where it’s at!!
PX4 Compact for the win! Just ordered the new compensator attachment to upgrade my og PX4cc.
.32 didn’t start WWI. That was a .380
.32 did end WWII though… (well in Europe. In Japan they used a .45 to end the war)
Lol at the simply safe ad mention 🤣
James is truly the American Cillian Murphy!
James I love that two Beretta’s are on here!! Thank you but what about the Squalo!!!! Come on brother!!!
Nice choices! It was my 1st Shot Show. I liked there are more AK options coming. PSA and Riley are releasing Krinks, SARSILMAS has a few AKM versions. Blitzkrieg is making a milled AK. There is also a 💩 Turkish AK coming...
It didn't make your list and it's not the most popular company anymore, but I'm personally looking forward to the Kahr X9. I have been very happy with my p9 so I'm looking forward to an upgrade for it
You must have missed the Platypus. Love you, dude!!
Number 4 was spot on. Great gun.
“I just need to do like, what, one Simply Safe add to get that amount of money”
😂😂😂
Add a front sight post island comp to the Zev OZ9SC and I'm interested.
I had set my sights on an FNX-45 or a higher end P320 but then I saw the DD/Hudson 9 and all of a sudden it conflicted on what to get
Interesting choices. My minimum carry is a S&W J frame in my front pocket. Most of the time is SA XD45 compact.
I'm probably not the first to point this out, but World War I was started with a .380 FN Model 1910, which was recovered when they arrested the assassin, Gavrilo Princip with it. Good subject for a future video, comparing pocket pistols of that era with the current crop. By the way, auto loading pistols are like helicopters. There are four proven ways to make a practical helicopter fly, but 90% of all helicopters use the Sikorsky system, like you see on the Black Hawk. Autoloading pistols are similar in that you have rotating barrels, and wedge lock barrels (Beretta 92), even blow backs, but 90% use a variation of the Browning tilting barrel action because it's simple and it works. Still, the PX-4 Storm is cool just because it's different.
Slept on those new Compact 4" and Full Size 4.5" steel frame Walther PDPs.
Not sure I understand what you mean "Slept on" the Compact Steel frame PDP's? Thinking about getting one? or ???
nobody really cares about traditional full size or compact handguns anymore they are a dime a dozen. The market wants innovative carry pistols (~1 inch thin etc), even the airweight is cool. People have been begging walther and CZ to make micro compacts for years now and they continue to release guns nobody really asked for. Boomer mentality from these companies
It must of been a blast what a time for guns I don’t live near
Living in a warm, southern climate, 90-95% of my carrying is done in the pocket. About 75% is done with a J frame and 10% with a 3032. The 432 is something that I’ve searched for on the used market and I will definitely buy, when available. Beretta pocket pistols are classy AF and I have no issue getting quality hits. That said, I will likely buy the 30x as well.
Great content James!! Is it possible for a review on the Shield Arms S10 mag and grip chopped Glock 43X.
I like the number 4 pick the zev looks like it will be great as long as they pick a good magazine. And DD H9 is great as well lots of nice pistols this year.
I love that in a world where manufacturing is making everything cheaper, (Cars, appliances, furniture, ie.) guns are getting better and better. Some serious quality out there now a days.
I ❤️ James.
As much as we all enjoy to watch this man test guns while wearing his short shorts and a fanny pack, it’s always great to see one of his countdown vids at his home office
I'm old and as far from a tactical tommy as one can get, therefore, your number 5 and 1 are the most desirable handguns I have seen in a good bit. Don't let the haters get you down.
What do you think of those EOTech dots that the H9 had? They look nice as far as open emitters.
My favorite from the list are ZEV OZ9 and DD H9
Zev has done an outstanding job on that OZ9 SC. if I could, I'd carry the revolver, the OZ9 SC and the DD H9
The oz9sc honestly really could be amazing. A Glock 43x size handgun with the ability to use P365 mags. If Magpul decides to expand their Amags to the 365 it’d be even better. Zev’s chassis system and the interchangeability with Glock parts will make the gun probably the best cc Glock you can get.
the OZ9 SC impresses me because it's got a long grip and short barrel @@iterationfackshet1990
Beretta selling an upgraded tomcat instead of providing new frames for the cracked POS tomcats of the past is a slap in the face. I had one that cracked, zero customer support. I have another one that I got for a steal, but leave as a drawer gun as the fear of shooting it for fun is not an option. This whole experience soured me from beretta for life.
Im most intrigued with number 5 wow
My originL PX4 Storm full size is still the most reliable after 30K rounds over the past almost 10 years. Have handed it off to the wife for her house gun. So, will have to take a look at the new LTT PX4 Compact!!!!
Good video
I'm just here for the masterful insults. 😂 6:33
James, thanks for the video. Your dicktion was cracking me up. The only thing to make it better would be if you talked about the Cheetah in your favorite training short shorts. I’m sure they will conceal that small package well.
The lysis air weight is great however I am having light strikes with every cylinder which I hear is not uncommon.
But I love your work and find your videos all fun and educational and I find that everything you recommend is worth the buy.
I definitely would like to try the H9
that 6 shot 357 that diamondback released had my tingling
James do you know or did you get the feeling from Springfield if the echelon was going to get a compact or subcompact release or just be more of a full size duty gun?
Fuck yeah.. want me one of those 30x’s. Fingers crossed, they’re reliable enough.
I'm real curious to see the release of PSA's sabre dagger line. Especially the micro dagger. I was thinking about picking one of their standard ones up, but I might have to wait to see what happens with that sabre line of pistols.
