Odd... at 14:20, on the Battlefield 1 test - anyone else notice that on the AORUS side, comparing with the crisp fluid video of the 1080TI FE side, the video looks sort of sluggish? Maybe some rendering error that got on the final video output?
Wildlands is optimized like shit and runs like shit regardless of your system specs. Idk why so many reviewers are using it as a benchmark...
Rare The Hornfox ikr
yes it's utterly garbage, so are lots of multiplatform titles. If you want to see a miracle take a look at Horizon on PS4 pro, and you will see one of the most beautiful games ever made. Optimization is the key developers seem to be deaf to.
Thanks for the video Vortez!
Absolutelly phenomenal, cant wait for it to hit the market!
Got my tongue hanging out for this one - + I do like a backplate..
Hopefully someday 4k max settings will be cheap....
We can only hope!
When that happens, you're gonna be like
"Hopefully someday 8k max settings will be cheap" and on and on
Of course it will!! Moor's Law.
Nonono guys Moore's Law is done, you can't just keep making stuff smaller. It needs to be at least one atom right? Currently at 14nm the transistor gate width is about 30 atoms. Furthermore one atom transistors won't be reliable because quantum effects. So 10nm is possible, maybe 7nm and even 5nm, but that's probably it.
3840x2160 (16:9) is just a resolution one of many, "4K" is not some kind of magical utopia.
Kindly Pls..review AORUS GTX 1080 Ti XTREME (1746Mhz) vs MSI 1080 Ti Gaming X (1683Mhz) vs Asus Strix 1080 Ti (1708Mhz) asap.. Thks...!
The difference in frame rates between these after market coolers and the founders edition seems to be around 2-3 fps, which is nothing. I would say the real advantage to getting one of these cards over the founders is the lower noise levels, not the performance gains which are negligible
True if we are talking about the difference between 100fps and 102-103fps. But if its 27fps and 30fps, pretty big difference, which is kinda what we were seeing when games like Wildlands ran into its optimization problems- Also that could make the difference between a migraine or not in VR- Or getting a render done a minute earlier and getting time for a quick Pepsi, -Sponsored by Pepsico
So... all 1080TI can go up to 2.100 ? So whats the point of this card ?
I was going to ask if you could potentially attach a water cooler to the back plate, but after seeing the temps, I don't think it will be necessary in a well ventilated case.
Great !, what about ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti AMP Extreme and ASUS ROG Strix GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti OC edition showdown???
Can't find a single non ti Aorus review :( That's what I'm interested in, but literally pages upon pages of reviews I see are the xtreme edition.
search for aorus -ti
sounds a lot like "come home to simple rick" at every sentence :p
If you include the inno3d ichill 1080ti x4 in the competition it will be a close call for being the fastest
14:48 right side not even look like 30fps.
My gtx780 ref also when the CPU is loaded by 25%, after 1 minute the temperature is 55 degrees, the fan 1400 turns 33%
I have two of these cards running in SLI and one reached 90F in VR I feel this is quite a high temperature?
Bf1 4K Why is the Xtreme lagging as hell??
Does it come with a support bracket to keep it from sagging down? I don't think a Pci slot can hold all the weight.
you just need a case with a bracket so you can side mount it. Or a high end motherboard that has steel encasing the pci-e slots. Or both would be preferable.
This or Zotac gtx 1080ti amp extreme core?
@vortex bro can you make an sli version of this video? Really would help. maybe include 5k and 8k results.
Samalyaboss martin bruh we over here living in 2017 while u posting shit from 2025!
Samalyaboss martin Go check Digital Foundry, two ROG Strix SLI, 8K, LOL 30Fps. There happy now? You like 30fps?
No thats gay 60 to 100 or no good lol your post makes me cringe
better then then the asus 1080ti strix oc?
The music is sooooo annoying OMG
I'd like to know about performace specs for video editing and Photoshop rendering.
One of the essentials for video editing are the CUDA cores and this card has plenty of them. We use a 1080 for video rendering at the moment and the Ti has over 1000 extra - in the same realm as the Titan-X. So its a great choice for those type of tasks, we're upgrading our 4K render machine with one!
why the hell are you benchmarking a 1080 ti on 1080p...their drivers are optimized for 4k and they also probably bottleneck on 1080p in some games.
@Vortez Question about the size and I see you with the ruler
You measured at 60mm x 125mm x 285mm
at Gygabyte tey hhave it at 55mm x 142mm x 293mm
so wondering why what you measured is different from whats listed at Gygabyte
I really want to fit this into a Ncase M1 with a EK water block mod. Based on you measurement with a EK water block it should fit could you clarify? Why your measurements are different? TY
By any chance did you strip off the Heat sink an fans, if you did o you have the measurements of the car without the heat sink and fans? Thanks for such a great review. Liked and subscribed.
Hi there - I never take the manufacturer measurements and just quote, which is why they might be slightly different. They are what you see in the video. Also, GBT might be measuring from the PCI express pins to the top of the card... I measure how much of the card will be sat abot the slot. Hope this helps. Thanks for the sub!
Cool thanks for the reply. Yeah it's nice that you actually measure the card in your review its a nice touch, and just the kind of detail that help people that want to do SFF builds.
Yeah I'm trying to fit it into a Ncase M1. The stock card is too big. So really hoping that the PCB + WB is able to fit.
Really hope it fits such an awesome card.
EK is making a bunch of 1080 TI water blocks the one for Aorus 1080 TI Extreme is coming out in may: www.ekwb.com/news/official-list-ek-water-blocks-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-series/
Out of curiosity a lot of the most common differences between the various 1080 TI cards is the pre OC and cooling systems right and in some situation extra power management. If the plan is to use water block and do Water cooling difference do yo think there is much difference between the end results of lets say a 1080 TI water blocked and a Auros 1080 TI Extreme if you end up OC both of them?
Ok Gigabyte finally got back to me:
The PCB size is ~ (H/W:) 121.15mm x (L:) 266.7mm, after removing the Heat-sink/Fan assembly.
Do you think is it still good in 2020? And i'm only using it for 3D rendering less gaming. Also does 600W 80+ bronze enough to power up this gpu?
Yes to both questions ☺️ I still have this GPU in my everyday PC and use it for video editing and other tasks. It's a brilliant graphics card, hasn't let me down. That PSU should be fine to power this model too
@@Vortez Thanks man!
how stable is the clock when overclocked where it stands? in games when you play for like hour or when benchmarked?
It depends on the air flow room temp... It will throttle if exceeds 83C or so.
6:36, please tell that is not a ripped off ram chip....
It's not. All 1080 Ti are missing that chip. Otherwise it would be a 12GB card like the Titan.
why is there a hdmi port towards the inside of the pc case? someone enlighten me pls
Some cases have hdmi ports in the front for VR headsets. I'm assuming it's a pass through that still needs connected to the graphics card. If the graphics card has a connector at the front it's much easier.
ouukay makes sense thanks :)
so I have this card and it causes games to crash in gaming mode and OC mode. I unistalled aorus software and use msi afterburner. so far it is only stable with a 12mhz UNDERCLOCK from stock, with power limit slider to 150%. those are the only 2 settings I change and its stable for now. However the card still ramps up to over 2k MHz in games but it does dip and hit voltage limit sometimes. can anyone help me should I be happy with this card or return it ???
all very confusing I wish I could just click OC mode and be GTG but I want to know if my card is a dud or not, TY
How case should me with best airflow bugget max 400$
i brought my extreme from amazon in uk for 680 pound :D
Power Supply ? Like 500 WAT enough? What should be used for power supply?
500 is not reccomended. The lowest recommended is 600w but then you have no room for overclocking at all really
Sorry my bad english, i am from brazil. Please, in your opinion, what is the better 1080 TI 11GB? asus...msi...giga...nvidia, please whit model. 28-02- 2018
it's 749 in the states. Other than that, great vid.
He's in the UK so he gave UK price, they don't call us rip off Britain for fuck all ya know;)
he gave the us price as well.
oh he did...Doh
I got it for £800 so 50 less than he said too, and that's $990 so i got the rip off Britain part right >.
Your music makes me want to take an icepick to my eardrums!
Am I the only one who doesnt care about coil whine while in games?
I don't have my case sitting right next to me, but under my desk and closed off.
You can only hear coil whine if you search for it.
Mine crashes in OC mode.... :(, had to send it back
There is so little difference really in performance its not worth paying the premium price for the extra cooling of the Gigabyte model over the Standard FE card with these new pascal cards they cant push them like they where able to with Maxwell cards for a big increase your just paying for the looks.
I'm so glad they changed it from the xtreme gaming branding to aorus. I don't care if "xtreme" is on the box, but I don't want that cringy crap on my card or "challenge your limits."
$699 lol where did you find that deal?
Excellent video...I'm SOLD!
Strix OC or this ?
strix, this card is having a TON of stability issues
just pre ordered it on amazon for £800.
Somebody.. Pls.. overclock GIGABYTE's AORUS GTX 1080 Ti XTREME graphics card to Extreme Overclocking to 2000Mhz. Can it be done !!
My standard version AORUS GTX 1080 Ti has no problem running beyond 2000Mhz in games or benchmarks. Also memory can oc to 12000Mhz. I must say the cooler of this AORUS is very effective.
When can we order it ? I want it !! :'(
I pre ordered it today @ amazon UK;)
overclock it to 2000Mhz & run it... Thks....
main thing to watch out for is coil whine unless you are fine with having such terrible noise coming from the gpu. msi seems not to have it unless you get 200+ fps ...strix has it badly and gigabyte too...not sure about evga since it has a new design and not available yet
Your titles are blocking the avg. fps at the bottom.. THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT!
the zotac 1080 ti amp extreme is being released soon.
Andrewx8 88 I don't hear of Zotac these days, are their cards doing well?
Supposably, I email them a few days ago to ask when the card will be released, they said that they will have it out "really soon". So I guess the answer is yes.
Their card can apparently go to Base: 1645 MHz and
Boost: 1759 MHz.
Here is the link.
www.zotac.com/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-amp-extreme#spec
jesus christ those specsssss. I definitely know what I'm waiting for. Thanks for the info! :)
Andrewx8 88 yeah ive already paid for mine, have to wait for it to get to scorptec at clayton around the 20th then they can send them out via post.
+Luke Gale Where did you pay for yours? I can't find a link anywhere to pre-order.
6:52 R.I.P.
this vs the asus strix one?
Here in Australia, this costs $1,229 ._.
Santa Maria!
Don't trust PC Part picker. It told me things were compatible that are not. Really pissed me off, I'm angry at my self for trusting it. I bought this card, it's nice and all for performance but I paid $800 for it. It doesn't even come with a paper manual. You pay all this money and they seriously couldn't include a paper manual? I had to go online and download it. I'm completely new to building computers. And the shroud is incredibly flimsy!!!! Becareful not to bend the joker when your plugging it it. Otherwise it's a bad ass card. I wish the digital manual talked about the cords that come with it. There's two slots but only one cord/plug in. Do I need to go buy another cord or does it get enough voltage from the one slot?!?
If it can run battlefield 1....it can run anything
Having just bought this card a few days ago, I'm a bit disappointed to see how little a difference it has over the founders edition considering the difference in price! It does look pretty damn good in my case though
48 fps at 4k...
The price to fps difference isn't worth it then by the looks of it.
Tom Cooper It runs about 7% faster than vanilla and costs 7% more. Price to fps ratio is the same. BUT you get way better cooling, much lower noise levels, RGB lighting (for those who care) and a four year warranty vs 3 year. Well worth the $50 premium (USA) in my book- mine arrives tomorrow.
shantfack yeah I've been looking up the various models now too and I've come to the same conclusion, so I take back what I originally said... I think I'll get the aorus xtreme too, thanks!
Tom Cooper I'll report back after installing and using mine. I'm replacing my two Gigabyte 670 OC models (SLI) with this card and they have been flawless for over four years and still going strong. My Gigabyte mobo has also been rock solid. All the AIB overclocked cards are nearly identical in performance (a 2 fps difference or +/- 3° temp difference is nothing in the real world), so I made my choice based on the longer warranty and the great luck I've had with their products.
shantfack that's good are you from the UK and if so where did you get it from? do you think Vega will affect the prices of the ti.. I'm fed up of waiting really and just want to pull the trigger. I appreciate it thanks.
Tom Cooper I'm in the USA. Unfortunately you folks really get raked over the coals as pricing goes. I ordered mine through Newegg.com (USA) for $750 USD, or about 580 GBP (sorry!). I went to google.co.uk and looked around; I found a site called scan.co.uk selling it for 752 GBP. Another site called overclockers.co.uk had them as well, but they're asking 800 GBP. I suppose that if you order from an American company, the shipping, duty (?) etc. would bring the price right back up, correct?
I too got tired of waiting for Vega, and I read a while back that performance "leaks" were hinting it will perform near or slightly below the regular 1080 (non-Ti). That won't cut it for me as I game at 1440p 120-fps and I may migrate to 4k eventually. I keep my cards for four to five years, so I wanted to get the best I could, to keep up down the road. There's also a free game offer with the card right now- pick between Ghost Recon:Wildlands (my choice) or For Honor, both newer games selling for $60. I think that deal ends May 9th or "while supplies last". So I decided the time to buy was now.
I do think Vega may drop the regular 1080's price a little, but I don't see the 1080 Ti getting any cheaper as it's nearly identical to the Titan X, nvidia's $1200 card. It appears that the 1080 Ti won't have direct competition this year, so there's really not much incentive for the price to drop. Once you bite the bullet, you just need to decide to be happy regardless of what happens afterward.
What resolution are you planning to use?
You do a FPS test on BF1 and run the DESERT LEVEL? REALLY? I know, lets load the level with the least amount of ANYTHING.
Actually its one of the scenes which is easy to replicate benchmarks runs with, otherwise you get inconsistencies. Cheers!
That's cheaper than a 1070 in my country....
nah i'll wait for gtx 2080 or whatever.. it'll destroy 4k completely
Zotac cheaper* and thats enouff for me
Rusyda Sadida Spectra LEDs that's enough for me.
Can we just STOP with the beards already?
No seriously...enough is enough! Lol
Horrible noise
I always feel like I'm the negative naysayer on these videos but... Why. I have a 960 and it's too much for what I do already lol.
Try running BF1 on ultra at 1440p 144hz.
I always had the same opinion as you and usually stuck to either the 60 or 70 series cards. I bought a new monitor a few months ago and that's the only reason I'm running a ti at this point.
Thats wonderful then, if the games you play dont require a beefy GPU then youre good to go. No reason to upgrade. I have the 960 as well, but the games im picking up are really starting to require more than the 960.
every single clip is from 1080p. facepalm
Nice card - sticking with my gtx980ti for now - waiting for team green to get some healthy competition from team red to drive those prices down ?
I just bought this card in 2021 used...good condition...for $550US...hope its a good deal. Seems like a beast.
is this gpu better than rog strix one? nice video btw!
Nobody watch this video, if you own a 1440p monitor or such, it's shitty 1080p and 4k, you are welcome i saved you time.
hi please make a video with the zotac 1080 ti amp extreme
will try to ASAP :)
MI35 HINDx It's already been reviewed in writing by several sources. It's about 2 fps faster than Aorus Xtreme until both are manually overclocked to their max, then they are a virtual tie. The difference is: The Zotac costs $10 more and has only half the warranty- 2 years vs the 4 years you get with Aorus. Aorus is the clear winner for that alone.
great video
this cards given me the worst experience. terrible.
Looks fantastic, can i have it?
Sure, do you have a spare kidney?
Vortez only a spare finger
Sorry, no deal.
Finally found English review:)
almost same as with original one not worth it to pay lots of extra money on it ..
Guys, I am in a doubt. I want to get a GPU as I recently sold out my 295x2 for 485€ and not need something new. I am between 1080 g1 (580€) or this 1080 ti Xtreme (820€). Do you think it is worth this price diference of 240€ (190€ if I get the normal aorus).
Forgot to say it will be for 1080p on a 144hz monitor
please review the galax hof when they came out
Excellent review, the card is huge, 3 slots and if you go SLI it's gonna be a problem for most motherboards and cases. Also Vortez, you planning to review the Zotac 1080 Gtx ti?
All the beefy coolers and the same temperature of 69C and up. Just get a evga ftw hydro or a seahawk for 50C overclocked and silence
I am from Norway and the Aorus one cost 133 dollars more, this is my opinion and i mean you for that difference that we are seeing in this video, is that the founder's edition so much more worth it.
Just bought this card, it's arriving in 5 days, hooray!
Beard
in Algeria it's 1500 $ :(
3 mounth avg worker's
they both have the same fps i would buy the founder edition its smaller and better looking
I vote Team Asus ! ...I bought the beautiful Asus Strix 1080ti
Get a better and WIDER selection of benchmark games please.
Any Informations about Fan noise ?
its kinda loud, at auto the fans goes up to about 2020rpm on auto fan profile. and it still is around 79-78c but it stays at 1960mhz so thats nice. (from my own experience cause i have it).
What happened to GIGABYTE? Why is AORUS making the cards now?
Aorus is owned by Gigabyte, its their performance range
Ok thanks for telling me.
this graphic card or Zotac Amp Extreme ???
what a fps difference on 08:20! x2
just picked up one of these for £500 so hyped
when you say the display port is up to 60Hz, does that mean I cant use it with my 144Hz monitor, and need to use dvi or something?
No, Rocking three Asus 144hz monitors (ASUS VG248QE) in surround mode as i type. Games work great still.
MSI - x570 A Pro
Ryzen 7 3800x
16GB Corsair RAM
Gigabyte Aorus 1080ti extreme edition
Sweet card. It would look amazing my rig. :D
Ay dawg you stole my name
great quality review imo.
I own one... and it runs SUPER unstable... I have to RMA it...
BEWARE!
Gooseman2k2 mine is really weird too. it went up to 84c once on auto fan and it went up to 2200rpm on the fans and its rather loud. but it stays on 1940mhz atleast and thats nice
mine too acts up, just playing ark in max settings no overclocking my gpu sits at 85c on auto fan sitting at 75% speed and is always hovering around 80 - 100% load....
tons of people RMA these cards, i cancelled an order for one because i found a forum with 200 page threads of people who had to RMA their cards.
