Hi James, not sure how I can reach out to you via UA-cam - similar to yourself I've lived in the US, and hold a US passport - I am also Polish (with an Ukrainian Grandfather) and I've been living in Poland for the last ten years - I'm really happy about your perception of PL, and I'd love to help if I can - If I can be of any support in terms of experience of someone who grew up in the US, finding your way in Poland, or in anything in general - even if that might be a phone chat, a "friend" you can just call for the most trivial thing, please drop some kind of other social medial way we can connect / dm - If there is anyway I can give you a hand, I'd be more than happy to - cheers and welcome to Poland :)
For James: as you see there are many Polish with Ukrainian roots (myself & janobr and many many more). Poles over 40 speaks some Russian, as they learned it at school. Most of younger Poles speaks English, so for Marina it would be easier to communicate in Poland than in Portugal/Germany (you mentioned those coutries). btw. I used to live in Germany and their willingness to speak English is not so obvious.
I like to see your reaction of Poland. So nice to see you both and hear you how you see our food, cities, etc... I wish everything good for you. 🇵🇱💙💛🤍❤️🇺🇦 Good bless your nation. Greetings from other Polish city - Czestochowa.
I appreciate how positive you sound and trying hard to protect Marina from more worries. Yes she wants stability and escape jut it’s start with that you are safe here. I hope you will find place good enough to settle possibly in Poland.
Sopot is a luxury city, pretty expensive. Most popular summer resort for rich people in Poland. It is funny that you ate in one of the most northern cities in Poland, the specialty (smoked cheese) from the most southern city in Poland (Zakopane) :-)
@@planetjames95 Yea, it's actually called "oscypek" but if I recall correctly, they can't really legally use this name outside of the Podhale region (the mountain-highland region near Tatra Mountains, southernmost part just south of Krakow) so they just call it smoked cheese xD But the true "oscypek" is legally protected as a regional dish and is a particular type of smoked cheese made traditionally from sheep milk (to be "oscypek" it must have no more than 40% cow milk added, true oscypek should be mostly or exclusively made of sheep milk). It is sometimes eaten with "żurawina" - cranberry, the sweet "sauce" you received with it was most probably made from that :)
Thank you, James. I've been watching your vlogs since the war started to see the perspective of someone from the Ukraine. I must say it's making the whole thing more real. The news don't have that personal touch and war seems unreal when you only watch the news. You and Marina are real people who had to leave their home because of Russian attack and I'm really, really sorry you had to go through this. I'am also very happy that you guys are now safe in my country, I'm proud of my people for all the help they provide for refugees. You make me look at my own country from another perspective. Being here all my life I've been complaining a lot (it's a Polish thing to do, I suppose ;)) but watching your vlogs I'm discovering how awesome Poland can be in outsiders' eyes. So thank you. I live in Gdynia, a small, modern city near Gdańsk. Come visit, come take a walk! We also have a nice pier (not as big and lons as Sopot's one but really awesome) great places to eat and chill by the sea. Take the train to Gdynia, guys! And again. THANK YOU.
it seems to be "Bar Przystań".. with the best fish soup I ate EVERY day when I was in Sopot for 2 weeks holiday and I see you experienced our Sopot molo (molo=pier) as well as the Monciak (how we call this main street) great visit!
I live in Gdynia, this bike Road is my beloved. You can ride from Gdynia to westerplatte, where the II world war started.14:15 on your left in Gdynia Orłowo, there is second molo(pier). But there is more green, more Forest. This peninsula named Hel 😁 I serve there in Navy.
i recommend visiting our mountains Zakopane is obvious but Śnieżka and Karpacz is really beautiful and not as many people here and close to Germany and Czech, also Jelenia Góra is nice many places to visit Cieplice is a health spa town too
Zakopane is definetely worth visiting but it's always full of people no matter what time of year it is. Maybe Murzasichle or Biały Dunajec would be a better choice for the Tatras. Or maybe choose Pieniny or Gorce mountains, there are easier to climb, not so crowded and with a little piece of good weather you can admire the beauty of the Tatras from there as well. I recommend the south-west part od the country (Dolny Śląsk) and its mountains. A little bit calmer but still stunning. Especially Karkonosze (you can start in Karpacz or Szklarska Poręba, both beautiful) and Stołowe (Kudowa-Zdrój). If you want something non-mainstream, maybe Rudawy Janowickie and its 'colorful lakes'.
The piece of land extending into the sea was Hel Peninsula. You should definitely check it out in the summer. Town of Hel is very nice with great atmosphere and at the end of peninsula there is a most beautiful beach I’ve seen in Poland. Speaking about nice seaside towns - you’d love Ustka. It’s kinda far from Gdańsk, so it’s more of a hint for future but most definitely worth visiting.
Excelent video, for someone who would likely never visit these places, you made me feel like I am there, specially because of your enthusiasm. Amazing how upbeat you sound despite everything that has happened!
That area of Baltic is great for family vacations because water is pretty shallow in some places way out into the sea, which is awesome for kids. Yes, in the summer the beach will be packed with people. Sopot is a very popular place for vacation, so you might get sick of the tourists if you live there. In the summer there will be many more good places to eat. Seafood (especially fried fish) is king, of course. I don't remember if we ate at the place you ate at when we stayed in Sopot in 2016. It was summer, so we tended to eat at places with a lot of outdoor seating and preferably with a playground (my daughter was still quite little at that time). Glad to see you got to try oscypki (smoked cheese). Good, isn't it? It's usually served with cranberry jam. Now I have to have lunch, because your video made me hungry. :) Next time you go to Sopot, take a bus to the beach instead of walking all the way.
You'll find many similiarities between Latvia and Poland, Latvia was autonomous part of Polish-Lithuanian Republic. Latvia was the only neighbour Poland wasn't fighting in war of 1918-1922 and nowadays even their ceremonial military uniforms are almost exactly like Polish ones.
Wait but... Between 1918-1922 Poland was fighting USSR... Poland didnt fight germany that time and the Zaolzie conflict was different story as well. And wait, did Poland ever fight Lithuania? I mean ofc, polish noble men were exploiting Lithuanians but as far as i know Poland was never in a war with them.
@@krowaswieta7944 read about the rebellion of Żeligowski. Before the Union in Kreva, Poland was often plundered by Lithuanian troops. Poland also invaded Lithuania, because only in the east it had a chance for territorial gains. In short, we were the hostile countries that only a greater enemy had united
@@marcinzawiski7332 Okok, i didnt even know about rebelion of Żeligowski (and i should probably be ashamed of it). But hehe, cmon, lets not extend 1918-1922 period to the times before Union of Krewo edit. i forgot what you were responding to (that is what have i written in previous comment). We also call Sopot "summer capital of Poland" a bit as a joke :) It's very busy in the summer, really packed. I actually enjoyed Sopot the most when there weren't that many tourist. Thank you for the video. I miss Spot so much. I haven't been there for 5 years.
Molo w Spocie (The Sopot molo) is the longest wooden pier in whole Europe, with length of 511,5 meters. Speaking of dimensions. We also had the highest structure in the world. Until Burj Kalifa beat her in height. It was a radio station tower built near Warsaw in the town of Konstantynów, with a height of 646 meters. It stood there between 1974-1991. It fell down as a result of negligence in the conservation work. Fun fact, we weren't even aware in those years that we had the tallest human structure in the world, built in our country.
Warsaw Radio tower collapsed on August 8, 1991 during guy wire exchange... Burj Khalifa is from 2010. "Petronius is a deepwater compliant tower oil platform built from 1997 to 2000 and operated by Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico, 210 km southeast of New Orleans, United States. A compliant piled tower design, it is 640 metres (2,100 ft) high[1] to the tip of flare boom from the mudline (sea floor) and was arguably the tallest free-standing structure in the world, until surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in 2010. This claim is disputed since only 75 metres of the platform are above water and it's unknown if the structure could have supported itself if built on land as it is partially supported by buoyancy." KVLY-TV mast from 1963(USA):Tallest mast in the world until 2019, when it was reduced to 605.6 m (1,987 ft)...
@@MarcinKotowicz nope, it's a third one but only one still remaining - and is is not an buliding, it's an tower. Other ones are demolished or burned out.
You made it to the beach, thats fantastic! Its the best place for you to connect with nature and bring some peace to your hearts.Great choice, it looks amazing! What a lovely day for you both 😊
I'm glad you're enjoying your time in Poland, I just wish it happened under more friendly circumstances. Best wishes from Podlasie (also worth visiting, even though it's quite far from where you're staying now) :)
On this very wide part of the pear there’s a cinema during the summer. People sit on sun beds and watch movies on an inflatable movie screen in the evenings. Sopot is so cool. Love living here.
OMG, I just discovered your chanel today. I grow up in that town. I remember Monte Casino Street and pier from 1970s. Back then it was a cool place, now looks more remodeled . For me it is like traveling in time. Thank you for sharing your video, I hope you will find peace in your life. Are you planning to go back to America? Which part of US you lived in?
I recently subcribe to you. I love the honesty and amiablity of your videos. Hope things will get better soon for you, your wife, your unborn child and all the Ukrainian people.
I come from Sopot. When I went to high school, we spent loads of time on the beach next to Przystań. It was 1/5 of the place it is now, at the time. We were the crowd that kick-started their success ;-) Very happy to see you've enjoyed it
I live in Sopot and its one of the best cities Ive ever been to. Of course, for me its better to move out during the vacations because of the huge amount of tourists, but off season its a very cozy place with nice architecture in the different parts of the city and alot of friendly citizens. I really like the space that we have in here as well as in Gdynia. If you plan to stay for longer and visit some seaside places, I recommend Hel, on the peninsula, its an amazing little town with lots of bunkers and a promenade next to the sea.
Molo means Pier in Polish. I would recommend that you ask people around you about things you'd like to learn more about (i.e. "What does Molo mean?"). You'll find many people able to speak English and give you directions or explain things for you. Enjoy Poland!
You know, this is going to be a very difficult question. I think this is a question not for ordinary people but for etymologists. I am Polish and I have never thought about this word because I live in the south of Poland. Even being on the "Molo" was an obvious name for me that works for Molo in Poland. It is simply a marina at sea- przystań The name is difficult to decipher. To be bark comes from the Latin language, not from the Proto-Slavic origin.
The fish soup in Gruba Ryba isn't "one of the best"-it's THE best! As a Scotsman currently living in Gdansk I'm enjoying your videos! The spit is of course Hel, which has a fascinating history!
I hope you and your beautiful wife enjoyed your day at the Baltic Sea as much as I enjoyed seeing it too. Thank you so much for this! Y’all sure do walk a lot in Poland. Stay safe, my friend.
17:00 In Poland, we call this strip of land "Mierzeja Helska" - "Hel Peninsula" in English. 18:30 The sauce for this smoked cheese was probably a cranberry jam/syrup. Very common for this snack in PL.
TexMex and The Mexican.. I'd fit right in lol Thank you for showing us Sopot.. I will check it out next time I'm in Poland.. Love the relax atmosphere; my kids will be happy running around the pier giving me a heart attack as for them not to fall over into the Baltic :) looking forward to your next video..
Definitely check out Sopot in the summer especially the pier, it looks so empty right now but in the summer it’s full of beautiful cruise ships and full of life in general
Happy to see Marina relaxed and smiling on the way back from SOPOT and yes it's funny that you hunt south region food "oscypek" in the north. Usually, it's recommended to have "gofer" (wafels) around the sea. Did you tried already "zapiekanka"? and Molo means Pier which you visited. Penisula you mentioned is called "HEL" and Gdynia Orłowo it is also well known spot. Enjoy! Everything will be fine!
Bar Przystań in Sopot is really legendary for its fish dishes, absolutely must-have once you visit Sopot, so you made really good choice and you're lucky you got yourselves a table there! :)
If you are looking for some small city for some time to live, check the cities in part of Mazury/Warmia. It might be cheaper than the rest of Poland. Elbląd, Ełk, Olsztyn. Btw. Thank you for your vlogs. It gives me some hope in this terrible time. Greetings from Warsaw.
I was so worried that you were gonna miss the most beautiful, main street (Bohaterów Monte Cassino) in the whole town, but fortunately you found it at the end :) This whole place is even more amazing in summer, when it's warm, sunny and there's like 10 times more people walking :D There are always many tourists from Germany and the place gets extremely, crazy expensive in summer, the more expensive the closer you get to the sea haha
I recommend to visit Zakopane when you go to the Southern Poland. It’s 2 hours South from Cracow. Morskie Oko (The Eye of the Sea) Lake is amazing. Sopot is wonderful but it’s totally different place in the summer, that’s right. Also, Toruń and Poznań are great choices.
Morskie Oko Lake is not for a pragną to woman. It's a long way to walk up the mountains, even if you take a horse and carriage, you still need to walk quite a little.
It just hits different when it's your hometown 😍💖 For locals they thing is that this area is the best early spring and autumn , when there are less tourist , because in the summer everything is buzzing and open, bear gardens and ice-cream , waffles etc but horda of people and generally I like less crowded situations. In the spring everything is blooming and in late September colours start to change. But i would say that for most people restaurants are on the expensive side, tough in Sopot u have a lot of business man and more wealthy people living in really expensive houses. Sopot was established as a Spa area in late 1800s and last 20 years they tried to restore it's old glow, restored the fountain. On a nice sunny day you can see a lot of married couples on photoshoots. Also very nice molo (pier) is in Orłowo (part of Gdynia) but really close buy and the are now restoring the are of Gdansk called Brzeźno (closer to city center you can take a tram there). Generally if you are up for it you can have a long walk or bike all along the cost from New Port (Nowy Port) to Sopot. And after that do visit Gdynia boulevard ;) Btw. Those swans been there for ages but sometimes the could bite when they feel threatened. In very cold winters , the see here can freeze. They used to say that in those extreme winters 150-200 years ago my hole bay froze so you could actually have a sledge rife up to Sweden. I don't know if it's really but 10 years ago we saw how the see froze and walked on it up to the end of that Sopot pier (it was about -15) Also Sopot pier is 3d biggest wooden pier in Europe.
14:45 It's called Hel Peninsula with the city of Hel. It separates the close sea (Gdańsk bay) from an open sea. It's defineatly worth to visit there in summer because it's very beautiful area. Also seals live there. 18:00 it's smoked cheese also known in Poland as "oscypek" or "smażony ser" with cranberry sauce.
So I finished with Sopot, and decided to try to scroll back to see where you began making videos but I got sidetracked by... Boston! Yes of all the places I want to visit, Boston is definitely one of them because 5 days a week for 6 years was not enough. Not to mention I was born there and I lived there on and off until I was 5 and 1/2 and then I moved back when I was 22 and lived in a bunch more parts of the city until sometime when I was 25. And we went back and forth and through but not nearly as much as when I worked there. So I'm looking and trying to figure out if you're in Boston Common or the Public Garden - I think it was the latter but I didn't spend a lot of time in the Common. And I look up at the skyline and there it is! The old John Hancock building where I worked for 6 years in the '80s. It's the one with the spire. As a matter of fact when I started working there, the light in the spire was not on. Energy crisis. And then they turned it back on and the Citgo Sign as well I think. There used to be an entire page about the citgo sign and there may still be one but it doesn't have nearly as much detail as it used to. A lot of things I didn't know. But back to John Hancock when it was actually John Hancock. I worked for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company and a friend of mine worked across the street at Liberty Mutual. I think they kicked everyone out and moved to New Hampshire and she didn't have a car or possibly even a license. You could do that in Boston. I didn't have a car till I was 40. I got married and moved to the North Shore. Lynn for a year and then Salem for 13 years. Somehow I wasn't expecting to see my old workplace in your video. I don't know why - it's pretty tall. Although not 60 stories like the new building. Okay the newer building. And you lived all those years in New York and never went to Boston. I noticed that I lived all those years around Boston and only went through New York and never stopped. Relatives in Virginia... So finally I asked a friend from New York if he would take me to New York because I didn't want to go by myself. And some of us from church went and we stayed on Long Island. But we went to the city and we saw some things. I don't remember what things. We must have gone more than once. I can't remember anymore. But definitely in 1984. And because of the people I was with, to the top of the empire State building (It's windy) and the top of the world trade center (If there was an outside we didn't do that. Good thing. I didn't want to go anyway. But I wasn't going to stand on the sidewalk at night in New York City by myself. Also fun if you don't like heights there were the escalators down to the PATH trains. I don't think we took them. I did like the Staten Island ferry because I like ferries. Again with the wind! So I'm from Boston and I've been to New York like nine times and I've been to LA like 14 times. One time Scott Bakula was at Carnegie Hall, so we went there. Fourth balcony left obstructed. I can still recite that. It was one night only. It was a benefit. April 8th 1995. Strangely the weekend I had already planned to go and meet a friend and stay with another friend, again on Long Island. Everybody I know has cats and I'm allergic to cats. Like you needed to know this. But this friend had a turtle and the other one was a friend's aunt. Oh and one friend Who lived in a fourth floor walk up with the shower in the kitchen and the bathroom at the far end, you had to go through two different people's bedrooms. And it was August. It was a little hot. And one time we were there on the 4th of July and we just parked in a place where it said no parking. But everybody else was also parking, and we followed everybody else to the east river and watched the fireworks. I love fireworks. Unless they are in a field full of trees in Worcester. Those aren't any fun. We just got a bunch of smoke in our faces. One time we got stuck in traffic on memorial drive - That's the Cambridge side of the Charles River and we just sat on the roof of the car and watched the fireworks from there. But how wonderful to hear good things about my city. Even after all the years I have lived in Florida, If someone asks where I am from I always say Boston. It's much more interesting than Florida. Although we now have neighbors from Latvia. So at least that makes it a little bit more interesting. Even more interesting before my neighbor's mother died because she didn't really speak English and she was always talking to me in Russian all the time. And most of the time I didn't know what she was saying. And then I was watching The Americans. And then I figured out something. And one day I heard her say I don't understand. And I understand what she said! That was exciting. And if the soldiers in Ukraine tell the Russians "Domoy!" - My neighbor used to say that to her chickens. Her daughter always says Idi domoy. She says the chickens only speak Russian. You can talk to my ducks in any language you want. They don't listen anyway :-)
Kinda strange, I'm from Gdańsk, I was on a small excursion today around Trojmiejski Park Krajobrazowy and it was quite sunny; look like Sopot got all the clouds :D
21:22 To live in Sopot in the summer it is literally impossible because of two reason. The crowd of the tourist is so huge and loud that you can get insane and Sopot is the most expensive city in Poland. Even way too expensive for majority of Poles. It is beautiful and nice in the winter but I would not recommend it in the season.
Thank you for the update. I do enjoy you and Marina's adventures, you give such good descriptions of what you are experiencing. I don't know if Marina reads English and if not I hope you read to her all of the good comments and our hope for your good health. You need to hurry though and lock in an apartment before they are all booked.
"Molo" is that pier/boardwalk. In summer you need to buy an entrance ticket and the whole area is super crowded. All little shops sell jewelry made of amber- most closes down for winter though.
The amount of suggestions and information in this comment section is just amazing. Hope you're loving Poland, it's one of my favorite countries in Europe, very underrated by most people, but it's a gem that the world needs to discover.
Hi Gdańsk Sopot and Gdynia is a 3 different city's but one metropolitan city call Tròjmiasto ( 3 city) Gdańsk in the historic part is like Amsterdam or Copenhagen . Sopot is like tourism court with beginning 20 century architecture but Gdynia is only 80 years old city with post modern architecture. Recommendation for you go to Gdynia Maksymiliana and go thru main street Świętojańska to the Skwer Kościuszki and then to Bulwar Nadmorski. Have a nice trip!!!
Oscypek is the smoked goat cheese that actually comes from the mountains in the south and south west of Poland. Quite salty served with sweet cranberry jelly.
Sopot is what we call "miasto zdrojowe" which basically means health town or like retreat so a lot of old people go there to rest if you want to go to another place like that look for towns that end with -zdrój
Gdynia is my favourite of the 3 cities, with all this unique sea/ocean atmosphere of a port and the Hel Peninsula with fishermen villages, boats and Cashubian culture, including the language.
Hi, I am from Gdansk and live with my husband fron Winnica from UE in Germany. We both undestand how hard it must be for you both in a new country. I really wish to you to find the good place in Poland by the way it’s a extraordinary land ! Wish you all the best together! 🇺🇦❤️🇵🇱 ! Sopot Gdańsk and Gdynia are connected in summer it’s more beautiful ! Thanks for sharing
I think it was a cranberry sauce. We always eat this with oscypek (oscypek is the local name for a dish made of a sheep's cheese, you can see it and buy it in the whole country but the recipe comes from the south of Poland).
Watching your video and you describing the food reminds me of when I was young. My mother's side of the family is Ukranian, and my father's side is Polish. We always had the best food. Especially at Easter, when we would visit my grandmother (Baba).
Been to the restaurant. Good stuff. Well, staying in Sopot will be more expensive than in Gdańsk. Sopot is promoted on TV as the main sea-side party city. It is loud at night and expensive. If you want to stay around I suggest checking on Gdynia (also nice to visit) as a sleeping area and the rest of 3city as working/entertainment space (not that Gdynia itself is not such). I live in the area of Gdańsk Zaspa/Przymorze/Żabianka and I find there great balance between calm for resting and great communication for the rest of the activities. It is even close to a forest with hills in Gdańsk Oliwa. There is truly a bit of everything around: a big nice city with sea, lakes, forests, and hills. I just love the place. Can you live here and not bankrupt through the summer? Yes, I do so.

In Poland generally bakery is divided into:
- "piekarnia" is the shop mainly with baked goods (like bread or buns)

- "piekarnia-cukiernia" basically a english definition of bakery
I recommend trying: pączki (singular - pączek), sernik, makowiec, babka
And apple pie - "szarlotka" or "jabłecznik"🤗
It is best to buy pączki in a pączkarnia, because this is a store that specializes in them.

What a beautiful beach town! I bet it is crazy packed in summer!
During the summer it s insane .Sopot od cool .
The summer capital of PL / top expensive city. Also famous for some "dirty" business
Super great video :) Now it’s time for you to visit Gdynia. Very beautiful place too!
Very soon!
Thank you Poland. 🇺🇦❤️🇵🇱
I appreciate how positive you sound and trying hard to protect Marina from more worries. Yes she wants stability and escape jut it’s start with that you are safe here. I hope you will find place good enough to settle possibly in Poland.
You guys are going to be AWESOME parents!!!😇
Thank you Lydia!
I was in Sopot with my family a lot of times. And today i could be in Sopot again, with you. Thank you :)
Sopot is a luxury city, pretty expensive. Most popular summer resort for rich people in Poland.
It is funny that you ate in one of the most northern cities in Poland, the specialty (smoked cheese) from the most southern city in Poland (Zakopane) :-)
Interesting!
And again. THANK YOU.
it seems to be "Bar Przystań".. with the best fish soup I ate EVERY day when I was in Sopot for 2 weeks holiday
and I see you experienced our Sopot molo (molo=pier) as well as the Monciak (how we call this main street)
great visit!
So good!
1 of the top restaurants
Polish people are wonderful kind brave and compassionate
The smoked cheese you bought in 18:00 is called “oscypek” and is a traditional cheese made by the highlanders in the Tatra Mountains.

Wow that coffee shop looks like its melting! Amazing tour of Sopot guys. Love it!
i recommend visiting our mountains Zakopane is obvious but Śnieżka and Karpacz is really beautiful and not as many people here and close to Germany and Czech, also Jelenia Góra is nice many places to visit Cieplice is a health spa town too
Nie chce się czepiać,ale Śnieżka to szczyt nie miejscowość,pozdrawiam.thank you from the mountain:)
Wycofuję,źle zrozumiałem,pardon
And Polanica Zdrój, Kudowa- Zdrój and others spas in Poland
NOOOO! Do not go to Zakopane under any circumstances. This place may be okay, but the people are downright horrible.
Bar Przystań and Fisherman soup - the best! I enjoy it every visit in Sopot. Good choice!
The best
The piece of land extending into the sea was Hel Peninsula. You should definitely check it out in the summer. Town of Hel is very nice with great atmosphere and at the end of peninsula there is a most beautiful beach I’ve seen in Poland.
Speaking about nice seaside towns - you’d love Ustka. It’s kinda far from Gdańsk, so it’s more of a hint for future but most definitely worth visiting.
Po polsku mierzeja helska.
Living in Sopot for 4 years now, absolutely amazing place !
Or you meant Silesia Uprising as "war with germany"?
@@krowaswieta7944 read about the rebellion of Żeligowski. Before the Union in Kreva, Poland was often plundered by Lithuanian troops. Poland also invaded Lithuania, because only in the east it had a chance for territorial gains. In short, we were the hostile countries that only a greater enemy had united

There is still the highest wooden structure built by human - Gliwice Radio Tower.
This claim is disputed since only 75 metres of the platform are above water and it's unknown if the structure could have supported itself if built on land as it is partially supported by buoyancy."
KVLY-TV mast from 1963(USA):Tallest mast in the world until 2019, when it was reduced to 605.6 m (1,987 ft)...
@@MarcinKotowicz nope, it's a third one but only one still remaining - and is is not an buliding, it's an tower.
Other ones are demolished or burned out.
Thank you for sharing.
It was very pleasant to watch !
you should visit Westerplatte in Gdańsk. That's the place where WW2 started and there is now a huge monument and other cool stuff to see.
The WW2 started in Zaolzie. There was first attack of german army. Westerplatte is only symbolic place nowdays.

Yep, people in their 30s or younger are usually speaking English.
Check out Malbork, please. But maybe in spring/summer and when the weather is nice :) Close to Gdańsk.
I live in 3city. It's a good place to live. We have beach, woods and many good shops and restaurants. I couldn't live anywhere else😃
It's a beautiful place. 🌸

I wish you good luck man, hope you will enjoy your visit. I recommend to see Kołobrzeg and Jurata, those cities are beautiful too.
I'll check it out!
Enjoy! Everything will be fine!
seeing your videos makes me miss my country so much ive been living in the states since 1999 last time ive been in Poland was in 2014
I couldnt help but notice, how much more excited and happier you and Marina seemed whilst in Sopot💕🌅
Bar Przystań in Sopot is really legendary for its fish dishes, absolutely must-have once you visit Sopot, so you made really good choice and you're lucky you got yourselves a table there! :)
Just picked it randomly, but was real good.
I was actually just thinking about recomending this city! I went there when I was on vacation in Gdansk 2-3 years ago. Beautiful place :)
It just hits different when it's your hometown 😍💖
For locals they thing is that this area is the best early spring and autumn , when there are less tourist , because in the summer everything is buzzing and open, bear gardens and ice-cream , waffles etc but horda of people and generally I like less crowded situations. And after that do visit Gdynia boulevard ;)
Btw. Those swans been there for ages but sometimes the could bite when they feel threatened.
In very cold winters , the see here can freeze. They used to say that in those extreme winters 150-200 years ago my hole bay froze so you could actually have a sledge rife up to Sweden. I don't know if it's really but 10 years ago we saw how the see froze and walked on it up to the end of that Sopot pier (it was about -15)
Also Sopot pier is 3d biggest wooden pier in Europe.
Thanks, I learn english from ur videos and new view of my country
14:45 It's called Hel Peninsula with the city of Hel. It separates the close sea (Gdańsk bay) from an open sea. It's defineatly worth to visit there in summer because it's very beautiful area. Also seals live there. 18:00 it's smoked cheese also known in Poland as "oscypek" or "smażony ser" with cranberry sauce.
Welcome to my country, hope you will find peace here. Enjoy your stay.
If You are already in 3city you should visit Malbork castle. There are plenty of middle age towns around 3 city
It's biggest brick construction ever build, we feel sorry about Ukrainians, your fiance probably can enter for free and you as refugee too
So I finished with Sopot, and decided to try to scroll back to see where you began making videos but I got sidetracked by...

Thanks for the kind words about my city of Sopot :)
Molo just means pier. It's the most famous tourist attraction of Sopot.
Also, before you leave Gdansk, make sure you get to the top of St. Mary's Cathedral!
The amount of suggestions and information in this comment section is just amazing. Hope you're loving Poland, it's one of my favorite countries in Europe, very underrated by most people, but it's a gem that the world needs to discover.
Bar Przystan is very famous, we are leaving in Krakow and visit this place every time while up north. You've made a good choice by queueing there.
Good too se Marina finally smiling. Good luck man nice videos i hope you enjoy Poland its many place to visit here :)
Hi
Gdańsk Sopot and Gdynia is a 3 different city's but one metropolitan city call Tròjmiasto ( 3 city)
Gdańsk in the historic part is like Amsterdam or Copenhagen .
Molo means Pier. It is one of the most visited places in Sopot especially in summer,
Sopot is what we call "miasto zdrojowe" which basically means health town or like retreat so a lot of old people go there to rest if you want to go to another place like that look for towns that end with -zdrój
zdrój in English is spa or bath if you rather go with British
Gdynia is my favourite of the 3 cities, with all this unique sea/ocean atmosphere of a port and the Hel Peninsula with fishermen villages, boats and Cashubian culture, including the language.
Hi, I am from Gdansk and live with my husband fron Winnica from UE in Germany. We both undestand how hard it must be for you both in a new country. Hello from New Zealand
Beautiful city.
