INSTRUCTIONS:
Now, let's gather our ingredients:
1 cup dried nettle leaves
1 cup dried alfalfa leaves
1 cup dried golden rod flowers
Empty vegetarian capsules (you can find these at your local health food store or online)
A mason jar or any airtight container for storage
Step 1: Harvest or purchase your herbs
If you have access to fresh herbs, lucky you! You can harvest nettle leaves, alfalfa, and golden rod flowers from your own backyard or find them at a local herb shop. Otherwise, you can easily order them online from reputable sources.
Step 2: Dry the herbs
Spread out the nettle leaves, alfalfa, and golden rod flowers on a clean surface or drying rack. Let them air dry for a few days until they're completely dry and crispy. This step is important to prevent mold or spoilage in your capsules.
Step 3: Grind 'em up
Once your herbs are fully dried, grind them into a fine powder using a coffee grinder, blender, or mortar and pestle. Make sure to grind each herb separately to maintain their individual qualities. You want a smooth consistency so that the herbs will fit well into your capsules.
Step 4: Mix 'em together
In a clean bowl, combine the powdered nettle leaves, alfalfa, and golden rod flowers. Mix them thoroughly, ensuring an even distribution of the herbs. This blend will be the foundation of your allergy medicine.
Step 5: Fill the capsules
Now it's time to put those herbs into action! Grab your empty vegetarian capsules and separate them. Take one half of a capsule and use it as a scoop to fill it with the herbal blend. Gently pack the herb mixture into the capsule and then close it with the other half. Repeat this process until all your capsules are filled.
Step 6: Store and enjoy
Transfer your homemade herbal allergy medicine capsules to an airtight container, like a mason jar, and store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Make sure to label the jar with the contents and the date of preparation. Now you have your own natural allergy-fighting capsules ready to use whenever you need some relief!
To use the capsules, take one or two as needed when you feel allergy symptoms coming on. Remember, everyone's body is different, so you may need to adjust the dosage based on your individual needs.

Cassandra, I just adore you and this channel. Thank you for teaching me about things I didn't even know I needed to know!
I couldn't have said it better ❤
Another great video on the books. By the way, I tried your chutney recipe using peaches that I had Frozen last year. It was delicious and I have put it in my repertoire of recipes. It is great for pasta salad.
😂😂😂
I think you could also make tea from the same ingredients, steeped in boiled water over night, strain- and add it to your water for the day. Add lemon and honey.
I was thinking the same!
Thank you
If you have any autoimmune issues, or have had chemo, please test each ingredient including the capsules before combining. If you have Mast cell issue or need a GAPs or AIP diet, go forth carefully (just like you have to do with everything).
I have Mast cell issue, and use these herbs regularly for seasonal allergies but they do not help with my reactions to adhesives, the sun, or trigger food exposure.
I have the same problem with my skin in the sun and adhesives. I started changing my diet. I took out dary ,nightshade veggies, spinach, and any inflammatory foods. Started eating wild cought fatty fish for omega 3. I basically followed an exema diet . The book plant paradox helps. I hope this helps. God bless you and your holy garden angels!
What do you mean by adhesives? Not sure if I understand that part.
@@1Sakks0I have MAST cell and I’m allergic to pretty much all glues and anything that is part of an adhesive like bandaids etc.
I have mast cell as well. What herbs do you use?
This video was very timely for me. I just stopped taking antihistamines last week as my mom has dementia and I read that they can cause memory issues. My body was so addicted to them that it started making more histamine to make up for the lack of antihistamine. It caused extreme itching. I'm now taking half a pill a day to wean my body off the antihistamine pills. I have been looking into more herbal remedies. Thank you for the info!!
You are right about the memory issues. These over the counter meds shouldn't be taken by older people. A nurse educated me on that and suggested that I not take the generic Benadryl anymore.
I'm 50-year-old grandmother of two living in Central Texas we are second in the nation for worst allergies. And I have suffered within my whole life. I absolutely hate taking anything synthetic or prescription so thank you very much I'm definitely going to try this
I'm just about your age.. I also suffered from seasonal allergies for most of my life. I sneezed so many times in a row once during high school that I felt my jaw click and suffered from TMJ for years after that. Could chew gum or do other things that required repetitive jaw motion. Also tried all kinds of remedies like allergy shots and all the over the counter meds and neti pots. I've been pretty allergy free for the last 10 years or so. They went away after doing some cleansing including a liver and gallbladder cleanse. I'm no doctor but I've surmised that my body was so overloaded with waste that it wasn't able to fight the allergens on its own. The cleansing helped to get my body back towards a more normal state in order to fight allergens on its own. (Neti pots actually worked well for a natural solution but you definitely have to keep the habit up regularly)
We're in Keller. What you say is true. 👃🌊
Use local honey from local bees

Roll paper pointy pour through paper cone into capsules🌺
Yes! My husband brought back some kind of "polar bear flu" [honestly, just a virus/we ruled out the heavy hitters by testing at the doc's] when he was in Norway a few weeks ago taking pictures of the artic landscape. Now me and our toddler are feeling rough. On the mend, but I've been doing everything in my power to stay away from OTC since I'm still nursing and most of those meds will dry up my supply. I'm so happy to follow along and learn from you/see what sources you are using as I navigate more natural healing remedies myself. So far it's been lemon/honey spoonfuls and bone broth for the win. Just a reminder from your previous video when you shared a life update and said you are looking for friends that I am somewhat local and would love to meet up for a cup of coffee/tea!
My daughter and I unknowingly traipsed through a field of ragweed last year and her allergies flared up. We were in a remote area so I made her some goldenrod tea. It helped her a lot but only for a half hour. I was grateful it helped though. She kept drinking it every few hours.
Stinging nettles works well for me
I love how normal and sane you are, it’s refreshing. Thank you.
My allergies are so bad, I started sneezing while making this. HELP
You might be allergic to golden rod. So, therefore it won't soothe your sinuses...it will make things worse.
Did this help you? I want to try it for my husband.
You made It so simple! I like your top, especially the sleeve details.
I have been absent for a minute. I did however finish July's Pantry Chat. I loved it as you are a master of presenting home economics info. Have a great rest of July
I love your channel and your personality Cassandra! 💕
Thank you! Very timely, appreciate what you do on you-tube.

I love your channel even though I don’t make here often. You are so informative and your presentations are clear with such a pleasant attitude.
You actually use golden rod flowers. Some people have severe allergies to golden rod pollen.
I can't use that
Love your videos. Thank you.
Thanks so much Cass!! This is just what I needed!!
Thank you Cassandra great information. Have a good week.

Thank you for this recipe
Just subscribed, you’re amazing, watched 2 vids and they’re so good ❤
I love watching and learning from you Cassandra! Your beautiful personality shines through. You had prefect timing again, lol I just took allergy meds last 2 days, Canada’s smog bad in our area (sucks because calling for this off & on all summer). I’ve been trying to limit pharmaceutical meds, two different MS meds have messed up my body more 😢, so I’m changing over to natural remedies were ever I can
Thank you for sharing you contagious personality ❤🤗🙏
I needed this video. Thank you!
Excellent content, thanks for sharing.
So glad to have found your channel. My aim is to embrace the slow pace of life and live more naturally. I take an allergy pill a day during summer. And would love to try this instead. Thanks so much.
Great video Cassandra. As a year round allergy sufferer, I have taken prescription and OTC allergy meds for years. In recent years I have been on a mission to eliminate the prescription and OTC meds from my life as much as possible. I so appreciate that you actually show the recipe and process in this video. I have recently purchased some medicinal herb books as well I’ll be doing an online class. I’ll likely wait on the class until the garden and preserving season is over but I’m excited to see what diving into herbs as medicine will bring. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you for the great video
Thanks for sharing this Cassandra
Thank you for sharing, as I definitely want to share this with both my daughter and granddaughter to make for herself and my grandson.
I ordered the two books and will get them on Thursday. I used a different company because I got a discount and free shipping. Thanks for your recommendations. I trust you more than other sites because of your knowledge and personality.
Thank you for this information. I really appreciate it.😀
Where have you been all my life!
I needed this one for sure😁
I’m subscribing 💖💖💖
Heeey Cassandra! Love the video. Just wanted to let you know that I followed your lead from the last video and went to my local Weis grocery store. I found the best sales in meat. I bought about $100 worth of meat for about $38.00. Score! I had no idea Weis had sales like that. Thank you so much and take care.
Thank you! I just subscribed.
This is a good recipe 😎 Thanks for sharing!!
I’ll have to try this. Thanks for sharing❤
I could use this recipe 😊 Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Cassandra!
I love the content. You have a great voice. Ever consider voice overs or reading audio books??
Hi, I just found your site. 😊
Thanks for sharing this information.
Blessings 🙏
Well that sounds like a great recipie!! I have allergies year round!! I like that!
LOVE THIS! And thank you for sharing the combination with the herb mixtures. I just also wanted to share. There is a capsule machine out there that you can look up some of them are smaller versions that will do 24 capsules but there’s another one I just recently purchased that will do 100 of them at a time.
Excellent!!!
Very helpful. Thank you 🙏🏾
Another great video. I wish I was a neighbor so I could learn from you everyday 😊
Wonderful, new sub!!
Great video! Thanks
Thanks, Cassandra! My husband has allergies. I just noticed Golden Rod in our yard today. It is funny because when I noticed it was wondering how I should use it. Wish we had stinging Nettle. I know it is good for tea and makes wonderful steamed greens. I fill capsules, too. We take turmeric regularly for pain. I have I e of those cheap capsule machines. I like your tool kit though.
Grass pollen is coming to my region soon. I hate using those OTC allergy meds. I am going to give this a try. Thank you for the suggestion!
I have GOT to try this!!! It sounds crazy but the over the counter stuff gives me allergies! I cannot take them. I've been maintaining my allergies with a cup of chamomile tea with honey every night. It's not completely effective but adding it to these capsules might do the trick! Thank you SO much for sharing this!
I am so glad to try this for my husband and son! I would love to find something that’s more natural as they use Claritin or Zyrtec
I'll definitely look into getting those supplies. 🙂 That capsule filter would make things easier as well.?
I've been using homegrown honey and 3-4 cloves of chopped up Garlic, for allergies. Which does help as well 👍🏼
I like the capsule machine, or capsule-it.
Thanks so much ❤
This is soo cool!!! 😊
Awesome! Can't wait to research and test this if it doesn't have any effect on my own medical issues. One thing to know about goldenrod is that it's a diuretic, make sure you don't get dehydrated (unlikely if you're not taking a lot BUT if you're already not much of a water drinker, this could be an issue - also make sure your salt/water intake balances everything out).
Also, there are capsule filler implements that make up to 50 at one time. It's still all manual just speeds the process up a wee bit and isn't as expensive ($30-40 in Canada) as one that's automated. It swiftly pays for itself. If you're doing your size of small batches, definitely go with your suggestion. If you have more capsules to fill at one time but can't afford the automated ones, the ones I'm talking about can definitely help.
I Love this. I ordered capsules and stuff to make my own Turmeric pain reliever. Thank you for sharing
I use turmeric in my toothpaste to brush my teeth it kills bacteria.
Stinging nettle is awesome. I found out that this works by accident. Found it in the yard a few years ago ate it fresh. I noticed no allergy issues like normal in the spring. Thanks for showing this.
Thank you.
Thank you
Beautiful vid
Love this ..thank you
Alfalfa is such a powerhouse! When I make my family allergy
capsules add Nettle to it. Never thought about using Alfalfa.
You’re an inspiration!
Thank you for this video. I bought mine on Amazon for $5.99, a few months ago to use for moringa powder. There are others that cost less, as well, but I wanted the metal case.
Thank you 🥹
Thank you for sharing. I think you would like Jeanne Rose’s Herbs & Things. I found it in a quirky little book shop in Eureka Springs. I went because the shop had terrible reviews, all saying the owner was MEAN!! 🤣🤣 Had to see for myself. She was nice to us, but complained about other people. Anyway, this book found me in there and I love it.
Love this vid! Where did you get your pill box?
I’ve not made herbal capsules yet but I make lots of herbal tinctures. I absolutely love my tinctures!
I also use nettles for arthritis, just add some to any hot or iced tea.
New here! You're so cute. So many people over on Pinball's channel talked highly of you.
This is my first year building my apothecary, I made my first salve yesterday.
I am looking forward to learning more from your channel.
I might add dyers woad to the mix cause I have so much of it and it's been amazing to help with allergies.
❤ love this
OMG. Yeeess you are talking to me lol. I have seasonal allergies and it makes me feel so defeated sometimes smh. I am going to make this remedy! Thank you so much! I just subscribed ❤
