In all his years coaching, he has been to 11 Super Bowls. There has been 53 Super Bowls which means Belichick has been a part of 21% of all the Super Bowls. Incredible!
Boondock Saint Great Coaching*
Damn...
12. He was an assistant on the 96 Pats (plus the 2 with the Giants and the 9 with the Patriots)
You sound like the reporters that get these facts from analytics to sound incredible 🤣
And he’s won 15% of all super bowls
This man coached the Greatest Defensive player of all Times (Lawrence Taylor)...........Greatest Offensive player of all times (Tom Brady)........WOW!!!...Unbelievable !!!!!
Jim Brown may disagree
You are on the spectrum
And the greatest special teams player of all time too
@@pauldecarlo869 Who is that Vinateri?
@@rethink62 Brown played when men were men. They took hits and didn't go out of bounds. Probably a good thing for him that he retired early because the owner wouldn't pay him.
Bill belichick has coached the individual greatest offensive and defensive players in nfl history.
Brady and Taylor
And best Special teams player(Adam Vinatieri) but he has never coached the greatest three way player(Sammy Baugh)
William Lee Brady “won” a super bowl throwing 180 yards and an interception. Without Belichecks defense holding the rams to 3, the pats would have lost
William Lee congrats, he threw to a wide open Edelman for at least 5 of those first downs. So elite, his one good throw of the night was to gronk before the touchdown. I really don’t care that much, Brady is really good, but he isn’t the best qb of all time. Football is a team sport, I think we’ve learned that this season with all the backup qbs coming in and winning🤷🏽♂️. Brady is really good and in 2007, 2016 he was probably the best qb in the league. But it’s ok to say at 42 that mahomes or Rodgers is better. Y’all gonna argue he is still the best when he’s 60 and not playing anymore
William Lee nobody sniffed Brady all playoffs and they got the ball out in 2 seconds. I’m not even a pats fan and I know this, guess that thing on my shoulders works pretty well🙄
William Lee 🤦🏽♂️ you are missing the point. But the answer depends on a lot of things. The score, time left in the half, personnel, and probably more.
BB for sure loves the Giants, he really loved that defensive group as well.
Past coaches we've let go in Giants history. Lombardi, Landry, Sean Payton, Belichick.
Read those four names again and throw something at the wall.
😱🤯
Even Payton’s running buddy on defense didn’t do so shabby after leaving the meadowlands...Fox took 2 clubs to the SuperBowl
Hey but we did get Ray Handley, McAdoo, and don’t forget about......ok, I’ll shut up
Lombardi, Landry, Parcells, Belichick, Payton, Fox, Fassel, and Coughlin
Remember that time they let go of Tom Coughlin and replaced him with Ben McAdoo?
My mom went to school with Bill Belichick at Annapolis High School. His family lives in our area, his dad was a scout for the Naval Academy. Go Navy. Go Ravens. Congrats to Belichick and the Pats on all your success. ✊
Imagine if Bill never left the organization
We would have RINGS UPON RINGS UPON RINGS
But his everything happens for a reason.
We need a mind like Bill... hell Tom Coughlin type of mindset
Giants need to get tough again
They would have, not we
Bellichick got u 2 more rings anyways
TL2354 are fans not part of the team?
yah a couple more than he has now I bet
I doubt it. The Giants were way more inconsistent than the current dynasty in New England...
Being a Pats fan. Coach Belichick has taught me more football in the last 20 years then I ever knew or thought I knew.

Wow! Thanks for this historical treasure. It's always great when someone gets Belichick to talk about football history. His or anyone else's. (Pats Fan)
Greatest Coach in the NFL history. He won 🏆 2 SB with the Giants and lost 2 SB to the Giants. But still ended up with 8 rings 💍 he's the Goat 🐐 of coaches
Giants have the MOUNT RUSHMORE of head coaches n Assistance
Bring back the glory days! Go giants!
I think for Bill, the Giants are the "one that got away." No matter how much success he has with another team, he still thinks about the good old days with the Giants
Fantastic video. Belichick is far beyond any other coach in history by this point.
The 1986 Giants are listed as the 5th greatest defense of all time by NFL official list.
I'd argue that the 1990 Giants defense was better than that of '86.
@@johnflynn1589 me too, they played a tougher schedule and the Bills were better than the broncos in the sb

Greatest coach ever. As a Steelers fan, I am dripping with envy.

Only if bill was coaching the Giants
He has more "Gates" than the Clintons. Cheatgate, deflategate etc

From bottom to top thru hard work. This guy has such a great personality then what you see on pre and post game interviews

Thanks Bill Belichick
There aren’t many teams the patriots don’t dominate but surprisingly the browns, Broncos and giants are some of them. Even the browns usually play them pretty competitively even when they lose
Two of the greatest bills on the same team at the same time
I didnt..shed a tear...
Best coach in history!
We need him back
Best coach of all time.
2:15 OMG so he is physically capable of doing it!
Strange seeing him smile
Bill Belichick is unquestionably better all-time than Bill Parcells, but I think Parcells is now underrated because of Belichick’s success. Remember that even if you want to give Belichick 100% of the credit for the defense, it was Parcells who had to deal with an injury to his Super Bowl MVP Phil Simms and then to his stud rookie RB Rodney Hampton. Watch the tape of Jeff Hostetler: he was AWFUL. Parcells made the Giants purely ball-control, and was STILL able to go into SF to play the 14-2, 2-time defending champion 49ers, led by league MVP Joe Montana and beat them without scoring a TD! Then against the Bills, as amazing as the Giants D was, it was the offense’s long TD drives to close the 1st half and start the 2nd that broke the amazing Buffalo offense’s rhythm and kept Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas on the sidelines, and left Bruce Smith and the Bills stellar D gasping for breath.
Belichick is an unparalleled football genius. But his mentor was a genius, too.
Hard to remember when hoodie actually seemed to enjoy talking to press.
3:22 "WE GOT IT, BILL!" Holy cow, who else could possibly get away with speaking to prime Tuna like that?
Perhaps only belichick and coughlin
Can he coach us now before he retires? Come back home Bill
who know, he may,,would be cool even though I am a pats fan first
Once Brady retires, here comes Bill
If they give him the role of GM along with HC, he might.
Thank you New York Giants for not thinking Bill Belichick was head coach material. I think Execitive GEORGE Young was leading that decision. Here you got The great bill parcels telling you to hire Belichick and you don’t listen to the man. Anyway Thank you again Giants, Sincerely yours, Every New England Patriots fan.
I'm pretty content with my Giants history and standing as a franchise. A Super Bowl appearance every decade, birthplace of the greatest coaching tree of all-time, stable, long-time management. Top 5 franchise
That's a very good list
Bill belichick 💙
this is good content. good job
who's that number 56 that saved the game by recovering the fumble? how come we never hear about him????
Bill is a Goat 🐐 🙌
Can someone send Belichicks dads book to NYGiants management??? Smdh.
Next Man up.....the System is more important than the players .
Belichick deep down still loves the Giants, to be honest I’m sure a lot of Giants fans still respect him for what he gave to the team.
Ironic that all the Giants 4 Super Bowl wins came at the expense of Belichick.
9:37 I’m just bookmarking to see this guy with the chain around his neck as he looks like a clone of my dad. He was a life long giants fan and I never really asked him how many games he went to before I was born in ‘90 and for all I know that is him.
1987-1988 Giants @ Eagles (Rams/Jets?)
The scary thing about Belichick is that he strongly argued for the Giants to draft Reggie White but how management instead drafted OL Gary Zimmerman. He then made a trade when he was in coaching that eventually led to them drafting Ray Lewis, which was his intent in that trade. Funny thing in NY that his schemes were genius but because he coaches the Patriots those same hypocrites in the NY media continuallyy call him a cheater.
anyone realize that the top NFL couches of all time have the same first name of bill
Damn gonna have to name all my kids Bill, boy or girl lmao
🙏🙏🙏
I'm amazed at how this period is reported today. Parcells left not because of health but because Tim Mara sold his half of the team. Tim had insisted that Wellington stay out of football operations after decades of Wellington running the team behind a series of whipping boys, starting with Sherman. Parcells left when he did for the same reason Lombardi and Landry left in the early 60's. They weren't going to just be Wellingotn's front men. Like Parcells they wanted comtrol. Why doesn't anyone from the media explain why Parcells never went back to the Giants sfter his health improved. Try asking Mara that question. A 2 time super bowl coach leaves the team of his dreams and goes on to coach several teams but never the Giants.
His health had a lot to do with it. Otherwise he would have been coaching immediately after he left the Giants. He took a three year hiatus.
They say if you wonna see Bill smile just say LT
Bill: Now Bill, before you start, tell em bout this bullshit
Bill: We got it Bill
3:21-3:27; a badass was born
Say what you want but Bill Bilichick has super bowl rings on just about ALL of his fingers...
He turned a bad 1990 Browns team (I believe, even WORSE than the 1999 2-14 and 2017 0-16 teams), that went 3-13 and gave up 462 points, into an AFC playoff team by 1994. That's a sign of a GREAT coach. He took that same roster and made them 6-10 in 1991, then 11-5 by 1994. GO BROWNS!
And they were in first place in the AFC Central in 1995 till Modell pulled the plug and it all collapsed.
First, get your team to buy into "one man, one job" team mentality. New guys fall in step quickly and you win games. Once you know you'll win enough games to win crappy conference and go to playoffs, you don't show your hand when playing the best teams in other conferences-even if it means losing the game. That's how Bellichick wins playoff games and championships.
Who still hates George Young for Ray Handley taking this man’s right to the NYG throne?
It’s no secret that BB reveres the Giants organization and has even sent feelers a few times about wanting to retire there. I bet that he could be had with a first round pick. Kraft is tired of him and wants to start the McDaniels Era anyway.
So... when is the Ray Handley retrospective?
🤯
Bruh yall couldn't get higher quality images? - some blurry ass shit
LT was coc’d up lol
I learned one thing from this vid. - Belichick's hair has never been anything but what it is now. -Just like Jimmy Johnson.
Jeff Hostetler is an amzaing story though if you look at how he was going to retire
Anything about that 1m he pocketed to ensure he stayed, then left?
Shurmur is just a place holder coach until Brady retires then Bill will come back to coach the Giants & Daniel Jones
When was this?
i cant believe this...bill belichick came across as human...even nice! what is this sorcery?
Just listening to John Madden brings back so many memories does everybody agree
I was too young to have the pleasure of hearing his commentary. Only remember him from the video game franchise and some cameos in movies
My team was the greatest defense to a Giants fan
Being a scout for Navy or Army or Air Force is a pretty atypical scouting job. Considering these kids are military bound, have very high test scores and grades, and most importantly, need nomination from a congressman to go. I mean these kids have planned on going there for a long time and football is relatively incidental. Even if they have some good players. More so back then. So it’s not exactly like you can scout a kid and offer him a scholarship and he decides to go there. Not quite sure what the job of a scout really even is there... To poach kids away from Army?
@Ben Haney you’d be surprised, there are HS athletes who don’t consider the military academies *until* they are contacted/recruited by the football coaches. Then they go through the nomination process.
Too think we had Vince Lombardi, Tom laundry, Bill belicheck as our Coordinators
Giants after Bill Parcels resigned: Bill Belichick or Ray Handley? Ugh...
so the guy who drafted Tom Brady in the 6th round had a dad who wrote the book on scouting NFL talent. Go figure

This man has been winning superbowls since the 80s..........let that sink in
He does have 8 rings. Can hare 'em but to think my Ravens were a year off had he stayed with the Browns in their relocation. Oh well.
I’m happy with my current sink but thanks for the sales pitch.

@@MarloSoBalJr Belichick built the Ravens team that won the Super Bowl in 2000. And against his beloved Giants. that had to hurt. This is why Brady isn't the GOAT. He's been so insanely lucky to play for a brilliant football mind like BB for his entire career. A GOAT should be able to go anywhere and replicate that success. Like Peyton did. Peyton went to 4 SBs with 4 different coaches. That's ludicrous. Deep down, you know Tom wouldn't have had the career he's had without BB. That's all the doubt you need.
@@pnwguy00 bro at the end of the day YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE PLAYS at QB Tom Brady is the best to lace it up. Buuuuut I doubt he would go to 9 superbowls without Bill but probably 3 maybe 4 him self.. Tom Brady is one of the only few quarterbacks remaining that's calling his own plays at times. Bill Belichick even said himself even if Tom and him didn't work on a situation together tom would automatically know what to do and he'd make the right decision.
Giants should have hired Belicheck after Parcells left.
Blame George Young
Sometimes you can be in a situation or position for too long. And as a result, can succumb to the temptations of your power and influence over a situation. This is the case with Bill Belichick, and many other leading role players in our society. Because the integrity, honor, and sportsmanship he once had, has now went completely out the window. All this to ensure a winning resume at all costs. He's a cheater. And because of that, I have no respect for him.
If that had happened, the Giants would be known as the cheating organization. I prefer that we don't have that label.
They also passed on Reggie white for an offensive linemen that didn’t wanna play for them that year
Ray Handley was the better hire, the players failed him

he'll tell you what offense the Lions ran in 1958 and why.... he'll tell you who invented basically every new strategy in football and who copied it over the years.... and the largest collection of football related books belongs to Bill Belichick... which he donated because he knows them all word for word, his Dad Steve wrote the book on scouting
Bill learned coaching from his father at Navy. He spent every waking moment analyzing football. I saw one show where he was asked to diagram winning plays from 1961 Navy teams (fifty years ago) He met his long time conspirator Ernie Adams in High School at Andover where they spent every waking moment analyzing football. Ernie is still the guy he consults on the head phones before he makes any major decision on the field.

Bill won two rings with the Giants but it came at the cost of being unable to win 2 against the Giants. As a Pats fan that's how the mythos goes haha. It's ok 6 super bowls is tied with the most.
But 8 would've been nice :)

Mike North Another genius heard from!!! Bill Parcells , a bum😀!!! WOW
Kudos to whoever did this interview. As genuine as it gets for B.Belichick.. As a Skins fan, the old NFC East of the 80s and early 90s were Gladiator wars every sunday. I never felt like the Giants were more talented than the Eagles, or the Cowboys-- but they were the team I feared playing the most. So well coached, needed 4 yards they got 5, few mistakes, great era for football. The NFC I think- had the top 5-6 teams, other than Bills in 90-91. But from 1985 to abt. 1995, it was all NFC
The same technique that he used against the bills, he used against the Rams, and the same technique the giants used against the Pats in 2 Super Bowls
giants fans gonna stay hanging on to those super bowls for a LONG time.. hahaha fuck you
@@Rhapbus1 YOU would too, you genius.
That’s not true at all. Belichick DID take out the 1990 strategy against the Rams because it was the best one to beat a dominant offensive team with a limited QB (Brady wasn’t a capital ‘G’ Great until 2007) and was based on linebackers and coverage. Often the Giants in ‘90 and the Patriots in 2001 had 3 or even 2 down linemen.
The 2007 and 2011 Giants always had at least 4 men up on the line, and while they also used blitzes more than the 1990 Giants and 2001 Pats, they specialized in getting pressure through the 4-man rush. Their D-line was much better than the 90 Giants and 2001 Pats (and even the historically excellent ‘86 team). This was especially true when they’d add the young end Justin Tuck to a line already anchored by HoFer Michael Strahan and pro-bowler Osi Umenyoira, sending 3 skilled, athletic pass rushers at Brady a lot of the time.
In 2011 there was Tuck, Osi, and Jason Pierre-Paul when he was playing at a ridiculously high level and seemed to be on the path to being the most talented Giants defensive player since LT himself.
90 Giants and 2001 Pats won with ball control offenses and LB and secondary-focused D. 2007 and 11 Giants weren’t ball-control offenses and won with focus on the D-line.
jonesyterp I agree with you completely. My point was that the Coughlin/Spagnuolo defensive game plan against the 2007 Patriots was very different than the one Belichick used in 1990 and 2001. The earlier Belichick game plans dropped almost everyone into coverage and dared the Bills to run Thurman Thomas (which they did, and almost to victory) and the Rams to run Marshall Faulk (which Mike Martz realized WAY too late) and punished the deep WR corps of each team.
The Coughlin/Spags game plan in 2007 was based not on dropping men into coverage and pounding Randy Moss and Wes Welker, but on hitting Tom Brady early and often and getting that pressure from the front 4 with larger blitzes a small element of the game plan. Spags further shook things up by often replacing a defensive tackle with young defensive end Justin Tuck, putting Tuck, Michael Strahan, and Osi Umenyoira together was like discovering nuclear fission and Brady spent the entire game worried just as much about evading them as about getting the ball to Moss and Welker.
Addition: I’ll always wonder how 2008 would have gone if Strahan decided to play one more year (and Osi didn’t tear his achilles in the preseason). A full season of Spags moving all 3 ends around the line, with the team as confident as they were in reality after winning SB XLII, would have made a team that was the best in the league until Plaxico Burress shot himself even better and may have led to a repeat.
@@NathanDav42 Belicheat didn't do a good job vs the Bills . They scored 19 points in 19 minutes . It was the Giants run game that beat the Bills because the Giants held the ball for over 40 minutes

Hicham Osseili I think it’s because of his past, early in his career where he was “younger” in his late 30s, people who usually have had a good memorable past “love” to look back at it every once in a while. 2 Super Bowls and Lawrence Taylor aids in keeping these memories of his alive forever.
NE is his present. I think when he steps down he'll be able to show a side of himself he couldn't show while he was the HC of the Patriots. Hes focused on the here and now with the Patriots. The Giants he can feel nostalgic about because hes no longer associated with them.
