  • Kevin and Milad try out the Tesla Fleet API, the official framework for 3rd parties to access data from Tesla vehicles. In this field test, we get an insight on what data is available, how frequently it updates, how consent is captured and how to trigger remote commands such as lock/unlock doors.

I work in the EV industry, this is really helpful to see and understand how the API works and what are the variables that are used for it. I hope they bring something similar for M/HDVs like their Tesla Semi. Please keep making these videos! :))

Are you going to make more videos about this? What IDE is that?

Yes! We have another field test planned in a few months time, which will focus on high-frequency streaming and data quality. In terms of the software used, we were using Postman for easily using the different Tesla endpoints.

As an indie developer I am super disappointed in Tesla (but not surprised at all at this point). You have to have a business and apply for API access so it shuts out devs like me. Tesla continues to regress.
