Glad to see that the 18ah and 22ah batteries both fit.

There is a switch on front of the battery box, what is that for?

That would be the circuit breaker. More information on that scooter and its battery box can be found in the owner's manual - you can find a digital copy here: manuals.monsterscooterparts.com/mobility/Go-Go/manual-gogo-elite-traveller-plus.pdf

You might want to apply Velcro to new batteries. 18AH batteries are quite a bit heavier than 12 AH ones.

You can certainly apply new velcro when installing new batteries. Please note that you would be unable to install 18Ah batteries in a battery box that came with 12Ah batteries as they are simply too tall to fit in the box. If you are looking for an upgrade to 12Ah batteries, 15Ah batteries will do the job & fit in the smaller box.

Not that easy! Both battery's are held down by Velcro and must be pulled straight up with slight wiggle. You have to pull hard. Remove the Old Velcro and place it on top of the Velcro in the battery box with sticky side up. Next gently slide one battery on top of the Velcro inside the battery box and press down for a few seconds. Repeat on the next battery. Watch the battery orientation very important. Take a pic with your cell phone to remind you.

Hi, when attempting to fit new batteries there's a spark when the red lead touches the appropriate terminal. I'm sure I've followed the battery replacement instructions correctly. Does anybody have an suggestions what's going wrong? The circuit breaker won't reset once tripped unless the leads are removed from the batteries again.

I'm sorry to hear that, Enid. It sounds like there might be an issue in the wiring. As we are not technicians, we are unable to advise further on this. I'd recommend reaching out to Pride directly with your inquiry - if they are unable to assist you over the phone, they can get you in touch with some local dealers or technicians for a formal diagnosis.

You must remove all the wires to the batteries an then reinstall them. If it still trips there is probably a screw gotten in amongst the wiring. Search for, and remove it.
