I think the Heat is wearing Jimmy too thin, you can’t rely on Jimmy for everything! He’s one of their best defenders and he’s usually carrying on the offense. The Heat is always lacking a big man! Let Bam play the 4 and he’ll be even better and stop forcing Bam to be a scorer, yes he can score but not consistently with him playing the defense he play night after night. I'm a Heat fan, and I don't see them winning a championship with Bam and Jimmy being the core. They both don't shoot. The Heat are a very slow-paced team because of them two. They need a major change in offense and it's hard when you have two non-shooters being the main guys + shooters with no defense or defenders with no shooting. Healthy, they can get to the finals and that's where it ends. They can't beat Denver, and they can't beat Minnesota. We thought Denver was big. Minnesota's even bigger. So, why pay Jimmy that extension?

Jimmy Butler has a history of doing stuff like dribbling off his foot in key moments.
He sees himself as the go to person. There was that trade when he was in Philly where everyone saw it as a huge mistake to trade him.
But the more I've seen him play, the less impressed I get. In just about every end of game crucial moment, he's likely to turn the ball over by dribbling off his foot or getting into a trap on the sideline and losing the ball. It's not that he misses the last second shot. He's always doing something so they don't get a chance at the the last second shot.
I think there was another time in the playoffs where they were down by one with time running out, and he came down and pulled up for a 3 with a few seconds left. Might be off on if they were down by 1 or 2, but I do know twitter was trending the next day about why he pulls up for a 3 pointer instead of going to the basket for a 2.

Its disingenuous to evaluate Jimmy's performance purely via box score stats because so much of his impact to the game is unseen. It's the reason why his peers in terms of advanced statistics (RAPTOR, Winshares, PER etc) are guys like Jokic, Embiid, Luka.

As much as I love Jimmy with the Heat, he's getting sold like that car that got you everywhere in style and got you the nice ladies. Problem is that there's too many miles on the clock, the engine is starting to rattle and the body has too many dents. Now Pat's had these luxury cars before and always trades them in while they got value and won't spend good money after bad.
Now Pat's been eyeing Donovan Mitchell for a while, newer model, plus some added features. May not be as all around as the Jimmy model, but is definitely an upgrade. And the interest is mutual apparently now that the Knicks have Brunson. Enter the Sixers. If they miss out on PG, I'm sure Balmer will pay up there in some way, Morey needs that win now move. They messed up losing Jimmy last time, now they'll go after him even if he has a couple of productive years left. Problem is the injury concerns with him and and Embiid. But even if they get in play in again, having those 2 is a team no-one wants to play, even if they got home court.
So it'll come down to Cavs asking price if they concede they're going to lose Mitchell. They'll want at least 3-4 firsts to reimburse what they gave up originally. Herro would be prime talent to depart Miami, probably Jovic as well. Would consider Jaime to be off limits as Jimmy's replacement, especially on his rookie deal and see how he goes with more responsibility. So 2 picks from Miami, 2 from Sixers, plus something Sixers could throw in to sweeten deal. Cleveland will also probably have to deal either Allen or Mobley, both really good bigs but don't complement each other. So should get a decent return there. So they could really have a quick rebuild despite what looks like a disaster. Philly gets that closer and Miami the scoring superstar.
But Riley's comments more or less told everyone, looking to sell, trade-in accepted but no low ball offers. I think Rozier can co exist with Mitchell, they get younger and can lockup Mitchell with new contract and timeline fits with Bam and Jazquez. Cleveland loses best player in the deal but gets better fits plus draft capital again, and Sixers get win now talent. Plus they've still got room to pick someone else up.
