McCants is right but didn’t explain it correctly. Shaq turned the paint into a No Fly Zone. The entire league created a strategy to keep him from taking shots. That’s dominance!
Exactly. They are looking at Shaq's points in a vacuum. The attention he gets on the defensive end, the opposing teams big men he fouled out and the one on one opps for his teammates......all part of the Shaq effects
There's a difference between physical dominance and a dominant performance. Shaq was physically dominant and Joker has dominant performances. Very simple to understand even for Mcants
@@SeanBattle I agree with you Two things can be true, there is Physicsl/psychological dominance and then there is playmaking Dominance that includes you controlling multiple aspects of the game especially offensively. Shaq using 2K terminology would be a “Paint Beast” and would be unrivaled two way player. Jokic is a “Play-Making offensive threat” who’s PER is ridiculous because of his consistency. The other factors would be Shaq’s defense(unrivaled in the paint) with Jokic ability to stay on the court in a late game situation knowing he can make free throws. 2 different types of dominance but highly effective for their era.

People need to understand that during Shaqs prime, the NBA was a much slower pace and more defensive. Today has much more possessions. More possessions = more statistical numbers. Averaging 30 back then is much different than averaging 30 now.
@@RafaelGarcia-jb3me Doesn’t make up for Shaqs numbers. Back in 2001 the games were much more defensive with less possession. The average team would score 90 pts. Shaq would score 30 pts. That’s 1/3rd of the entire teams pts output. In 2023 team would average 115 pts. Jokic would score 30 pts that’s only about 1/4th of total pts. If Shaq played today he would be averaging 38. (1/3rd)
Bad argument for a few reasons, we'll disregard that Shaq didn't actually average thirty in the finals and say rounding up is fine. You're talking about physicality, you're talking about a bench press effectively. You hear the word dominant and you think the word strength, but that's not what dominance in basketball is. You said it's the pace, so let's think about it as simply as possible, the team scored 90 and Shaq scored 30, thats 30% but let's juet be super generous and say he produced 40 via 1 assist and some rebounds that we're counting, thats still less than 50% of his teams offensive production Today the team averages 115, and Jokic is literally directly creating 60 points of that, and that's without being generous and counting shit like rebounds, of which he averages the same as Shaq. That's over 50%, it's actually closer to 60 Using your numbers, and even being generous and inflating Shaqs numbers as much as possible to steal man your argument, Shaq never produced 50% of his teams offense, and Jokic never produces less than 50% by a comfortable margin. Jokic is more dominant, you're talking about muscles, but this is a conversation about basketball, and on the basketball court Jokic does more than shaq.
I don’t understand why this is an argument it’s clearly Shaq. The fact Shaq is less skilled but demands more attention says it all. Bc someone can do more doesn’t make them better it makes the more skilled. It’s wide open shots for Shaq teammates in today’s game. Shaq is dropping 40 a night misses free throws. Two men on Shaq in the paint creates points he doesn’t get assists for. Joker also benefits from no real bigs .
Shaq had prime Kobe Bryant in those playoffs, Shaq wasn't the singular reason for that team's dominance. Kobe alone averaged 35 points in that series against the Kings and 33 points per game against the Spurs in the Playoffs. Jokic doesn't have anybody like that
@@George-nx8zuLmaoo so Murray ain’t get a 30 point triple dbl ya be acting like Murray isn’t a star he can easily be what dame and curry is if he leaves jokic
Most of the modern day centers are way better shooters then Shaq was but prime Shaq was just too big and strong Jocker Embid and Rudy combined together wouldn't be able stop Shaq.
Shaq changed the way how teams constructed their rosters. You had to have 2-3 bigs there just to foul him, else your 1 big will foul out in 15 minutes. Thats why during Shaqs prime the game went through one of the lowest pace in NBA history due to the limited guard spots a team could have. If a modern day guard tried to foul Shaq it will be a dunk plus an and one.
Like they said in the video an and 1 would indicate that shaq can make a freethrow but he cant so it would just be a fg made. Yall missing the point of what they saying. And honestly im surprised they didnt bring up the fact that shaq had a kobe to bail him out ysll dont remember shaw fouling out and kone coming in saving the day? You could slow down shaqs scoring (especially how it was back then) with hard fouls sending him to the line opposed to theres no way for you stop jokic on the offensive end in any capacity you slow down one thing i’ll just produce way more in the other categories opposed too if you slow down shaq scoring he isnt producing anywhere else rebounds yeah sure but jokic produces the same in rebounds. If jokic isnt on the floor is a loss for denver murray is a great distributer but he isnt the guy who gets the team involved like jokic.
Also, the pace of the game is way faster. So obviously there would be more stats for the modern players. These guys have peanut brains sometimes. More shots = More points, more rebounds, and more assists.
@@donovanpipkins408I remember Jamal Murray bailing out the nuggets multiple times in this playoff run.. and even if Shaq got fouled and made 1 free throw every trip that’s still 1 point per possession. That’s good even for todays league. Learn the sport cuzzo
I understand what McCants is saying... Joker does generate more points from assist and scoring, but Shaq's dominance was him dropping 35-40 while putting the other team in foul trouble which brings in bench players which changes the way their team can defend because of fouling out/foul trouble. etc.
Shaq was incredible, nobody is touching his dominance of the painted area and the stress he's putting on your entire defense. Jokic is also incredible and nobody is touching his ability to impact the entire court, be a threat from everywhere to score and get his teammates involved. both players are the best centers of their era and thats just the way it is. trying to compare them is foolish. also we will probably see teams this offseason bolster their frontcourt in an effort to counter jokic. same thing happened with shaq.
Thinking being a one-dimensional bulldozer is more "dominant" than a more productive engine of the offense- scoring AND playmaking, is STUPID. You absolutely CAN compare. What's foolish is thinking the more "macho" gameplay is automatically more "dominant". Declaring that trying to compare them "is foolish" is intellectually LAZY and bankrupt. You can compare any era and any player with sound reasoning. You and your 19 likers need to learn to think better.
@@VVVY777you can disagree without insulting ppl. Watch. You're wrong. Here's why. Shaq would literally take his man off the court with foul trouble. Hack a Shaq put you in the penalty. Shaq could go sit down. Your team is still in foul trouble. Your rim protector is on the bench giving you nothing. Shaq's team has no shot blocker to worry about. Meanwhile Shaq's teammates are getting FREE throws. Free points. Even a horrible ft shooter hits 60% of the time. How many non centers hit 60% of their buckets? Jump shots put pressure on YOU to make the shot. Assists only count if you make the shot. When Shaq was winning rings he was 350 that's around 60lbs heavier than Jokic. When he was in Orlando, he was significantly smaller. He had the footwork, speed and agility to fake out guards in the post. WITH THE STRENGTH TO TEAR DOWN BACKBOARDS! He could dribble like a guard and could shoot. He took the logical method of "bully ball". Jokic is generally playing dudes 6'9 to 7ft who have little to no post game, want to be shoot 3s and weigh slightly or substantially less than him. He looks like it hurts to run! If Murray averaged 25 in the WCF instead of 32, the Nuggets are down 3-1 instead of a sweep. That's ALL you would have to change. Even with all those numbers he put up. The help he got from his team. It would have amounted to nothing. So it would have been blamed on his teammates. Sounds familar.
@VVVY777 Bro, r u that ignorant? Definitely not a student of the game! Jokic in that era would have fouled out, or limited himself by being taken out after 2 to 3 quick fouls like all other players in Shaq's prime era. The only centers that schooled shaq was Olajuwan and a past his prime Sabonis (research him) dude was a 7 ft 3 inch beast who had the girth to withstand Shaq's back you down /dunk approach. The rules were way different in that era. Hand checking, shoving for space were allowed. The ref's commission even said they had to change the way they refereed games, because Shaq would have fouled out whole teams if they called everytime he was fouled, which was no good for the game. Shaq had to contend with Mutumbo, Pat Ewing, Alonzo mourning, Bill Cartwright, Olujawon, Rik Smits, Manut Bol, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, all 7 ft+ all-stars (some of them avg 25/ 30ppg) Prime Shaq would have bullied lightweight Anthony Davis into oblivion. And you think tippy toes Jokic would have survived that type of punishment night after night, facing "real bigs" not this small ball , you can't touch me league we see right now. And that is the ONLY reason Jokic is dominant! So, bro your argument of comparing is nonsense! I get you love Jokic. I like him becuase he's a throwback center who is taking advantage of a small ball league right now! There is no real bigs in todays NBA. It's all guard driven now!
@@sidjones16 Saying a way of thinking is lazy or intellectually bankrupt is not an insult, attacking character of an individual is an insult. You mean they’d have to change the rules for a bigger and more skilled version of Giannis? Lol you right. People rly have no reference of comparison lol

Shaq played under the current rules & was a less effective player. Everyone considers the NBA like a 1v1 league when it's a team game. The ability for teams to collapse in on Shaq is something he only had to deal with later in his career. Shaq went from 9 straight seasons of 26ppg+ to never averaging over 22 the rest of his career from 04 on. 27ppg in 03, 21ppg in 04. The elimination of Illegal defense was a MASSIVE blow to Shaq's game. What makes Jokic better under the post-illegal defense era is that he can pass out of the defense collapsing in on him better than any post player ever. That's what McCants isn't understanding.
Physical Dominance doesn’t overshadow Floor Dominance. Both Joker and Shaq shifted how teams play against them in two different eras of basketball. Realistically speaking based on the argument the player with more responsibility on the win or team success is the more dominant player. Jokers going to take that going with his career trajectory
Jokic doesn't have kobe on his team ...plus taking a penalty to stop/slow someone down is the epitome of I can't stop him so just stop the game and make him shoot penalty shots until we can't nomore
I like how everyone forgets about Hakeem Olajuwon which Shaq himself said was the best center of the 90s. He gave you buckets, rebounds, assists, blocks, and the only center top ten all time in Steals.
It depends how you define dominant. Dominance in terms of force. Stiring fear and getting people into foul troubles. That’s shaq diesel. Dominance in terms of impact dictating the game is Jokic. When generals plan attacks during war it’s not measured by sheer power. It’s strategy to get the favorable outcome. Sometimes it’s blowing shit up, sometimes it’s planting spies to neutralize quietly.
on point. there are different types of dominance which they never talked about. 2 different dominant players, in 2 different eras, and 2 different playstyles. ones physical the other one's intellectual
Good point but u forgot about this, the Bulls and other teams had to get 3 to 5 center because shaq was going to kill any center if u didn't foul, u literally needed 30 fouls to give at the center spot
Shaq was more dominant. The deciding factor would be if Jokic played in Shaqs Era what would his stats look like. Especially in games against Shaq. When you have to guard somebody that big and strong and deal with them banging into your chest play after play it takes alot out of you. That affects you mentally (frustrating) and physically (painful, tiring). So ask your self what would Jokic stats look like if he had to guard Shaq ??He would be in early foul trouble for sure 😂
McCant was making the wrong argument: Shaq was literally a frightening Force in the paint. The entire game plan for teams and eventually for the league itself was based on how to stop Shaq in the paint. Shaq just needed to exist in the paint and everyone on and off the court needed to figure out how to stop him from doing that. NBA rules were created because of Shaq.
They trying to answer 2 different questions. Gil for some reason is answering who has more impact on the game and Mccants is actually answering the question that was asked. Who was more dominant? Impact in a game and dominance in a game 2 different things
I understand what Rashad is saying, I don’t think he explained it right. Shaq was more dominant to me because he demoralized his opponents. Joker can put up those 40 points triple doubles but I don’t think his opponents lose hope or scared of him. So I agree Shaq is more dominant.

Why are women that couldnt make the last spot on any NBA team telling us about dominance???? As bad as their commentary and courtside takes during games terrible.
When the lakers passed half court, you knew Shaq would score If he doesn’t get 10 assist per game, fine. Let’s say they are all two points. That’s twenty less points He will get your bench guys into foul trouble every game, leaving starters to play a lot more Or he can get two starters into early foul trouble, leading to them scoring at least twenty less combined points than they normally would.
Shaq warped the court inward with his singular gravity like Curry is doing it outward. Teams were literally drafting big, burly guys just to have some depth for guarding him.
Jokic is doing the same thing. When he's in the post the entire team collapses around him. He punishes them with the passes, then next time they don't collapse so he punishes them in the post. I've never seen a player more dominant than Jokic at this moment, and I've been a Lakers fan my entire life.
I think assists should NOT be in the conversation when it's about dominance because others need to make that shot for the assist to count. Especially when comparing eras. When dominance is the topic, you need to talk about "stopping power". Can you stop the guy from getting buckets? Can he score at will? It does not matter HOW ( layups, jump shots, or dunks). If you cannot stop the guy and he's scoring at will therefore he is dominant.
Yeah its a no brainer not to count assist. Rashad is right in this argument. Plus if you credit Shaq for points where people just blaytantly cheat and jump on his back to stop him from dunking,he would avg 40😅
It’s not fair of Gil to mention Jokic’s assist but not Shaq’s rebounds. Those go towards PRF. So shaq isn’t just going 20/20 off just passes to the post. He’s gotten 40 before, let’s not disrespect just how dominant big diesel was

I agree that Shaq is more “DOMINANT”. However, the main reason for that is because the game was a lot slower with a lot less possessions ESPECIALLY in finals and playoffs games than todays game. Averaging 30 back in 2001 is like averaging 45 right now in todays game. You have to look at possessions and total points then divide that by the stat line of each to see the impact/dominance of each player. For instance Shaq averaging 33 pts a game with 4 assists and the total points being around 100 for the lakers and only a few possessions may be more dominant than Jokers 30 and 7 when Nuggets total points that series may be higher. McCants is arguing that Shaq’s PHYSICAL dominance over others back then is what propels him over Jokers. And that’s not a bad opinion, but he’s just so inarticulate that he sounds dumb a lot. McCants also makes unrelated points to bolster or back up his original point which makes him sound even worse.
Just for kicks, the 2001 Lakers avg 100.6 ppg and the 2023 DEN avg'd 115.8ppg. If Shaq avg'd 30ppg in 2001, then 15% more pts would be...34.5ppg. Overall, Orlando Shaq would be awesome today -- just like Giannis. Plus, Embiid and Jokic won the last 3 MVPs. And...Shaq is dominant out of the post and would open up the 3pt for open shooters.

I don’t always agree with McCants but he’s right. Shaq had so much dominance and impact on the court that opposing teams had to foul him just to keep him from scoring and they’ll get punished for it. Jokić is doing his thing no doubt and is the best big man in the game today but he would get demolished if he had to face Shaq in his prime.
Well under current rules Shaq ain't beating Jokic. Most of Shaq moves would be fouls today. Secondly, Shaq sucks at free throws so he couldn't even take advantage of fouls.
Clown thinks being a one-dimensional bulldozer is more dominant than being the entire engine of the offense- scoring AND playmaking. What a basic brain this dude has. The type of clown that declares Popovich isn't a good coach because the team was in rebuild mode. What a simpleton.
The psychicality argument never gets any better. Jokić routinely demolishes the most physical players in the game without ever touching them. There’s no way Shaq could keep up. Joker is as shifty as any player in the game; his footwork is unorthodox and confuses the hell out of other elite players, and he’s so much better on offense than Shaq that it’s not really worth a comparison.
@@streamchaser1841speak facts to em bro. And if they knew bball shaq even said Europeans are the hardest guard for him cause they make his big ass step out
Dominance is more of a visual, aesthetically pleasing experience to see. Whereas with Joker it’s greatness it has more context and fine details to his game.
They’re acting like Shaq only played on offense. Jokic can be responsible for 70 points, but Shaq probably also had a 70 point swing by keeping players from even trying to score inside, blocked, and altered shots.
@@karilo886 I’m saying it’s easier to say Jokic because he’s all offense, so it’s easy to claim he’s more dominant or whatever the convo was because everything he does is recorded as a stat. Shaq can drop 30 or 40 and let’s assume Shaq makes all teams shoot 20-25 percent lower from the field. If that 20 percent is worth the opposing team scoring 30, then technically Shaq is also worth 70 points even though there’s not a specific stat confirming that.
She clearly didn't watch shaq if she think he was stop by a foul 😂 shaq literally said himself if he would have been more serious he would have had 50 every game😂

Both are great but it’s easier to score today bc of the spacing… it’s easier to score in the paint as there are less post defense so slashers are getting easier buckets if you pull the center out and there’s more shot opportunities bc of the pacing Hard to say who’s more dominant tho… both are great regardless
Rodman who's 6'6 225lbs was defending him hahah. Ben Wallace was 6'7 240lbs and defending him and was one of the stronger guys in the league. Shaq's era wasn;t filled with huge athletic dudes, it was a bunch of unathletic bigs.
What you learn in 4th grade debate class is that when you can't agree on something you look at defining the terms. If they decided what 'dominant' means they could've finished this conversation in 3 minutes
This conversation is crazy strictly because these guys should know better. Dominance is is determined by what’s needed by the team around you. Wilt is your example: early Wilt (Shaq) was a powerful dominant player numbers and stats but when he had better and more pieces around him he was still dominant (jokic) in the game. So I would say whatever way it takes for your team to win is most dominant for that situation.
What they not pointing out is that Shaw dominance would disrupt the other team offense. If your big man and others are in foul trouble the stats are different. You get Shaw to the Finals, he’s backing you down
I think many folks in NBA circles consider dominance only when the player is physically dominant, not how dominant overall a person is. Every time McCants says "Dominant!" I wish he would ask everyone what they mean by dominant. If you can't stop someone from impacting the game then they're dominant, in my opinion.
Shaq was on another level than Joker, Shaq dominance left you helpless and your whole team in foul trouble trying to stop that Mack Truck 😂 Jokers is going to need RINGS, NOT JUST ONE
@@brettthomas6327 I don't really agree. I would say he was in another league physically. I don't really see how the fouls give him extra points if he still lost like any other great. Personally, still see it as just another type of dominance. And no I'm not saying Jokic is better than Shaq.
People forget shaq can pass off the block or double. he just can’t pass like joker .. you dont see 7 ft centers bring up the ball , run the O and shoot 3s casually. I’d still take shaq tho .. you literally tripled him and he dropped 40 on you lol .. his defense is underrated
dominated his way? u mean when he was sittin on the bench in the 4th almost every western conference runs? while kobe carried his ass? or u mean when his "dominance" was being locked the fuck down by the spurs? or fouling out against portland? want more mr casual boxscore 15yo who never saw any of these runs?
Two different eras. Shaq put up his numbers in the slowest offensive era in the modern NBA. Jokic is in the fastest. It’s far less physical and more spacing now. You could double Shaq. Due to 3pt shooters and Jokic’s passing, you can’t double him today. Shaq got those numbers with Kobe. No disrespect to Jamal Murray, but him and Kobe are on two different levels. Jokic would have averaged 21/22 instead of 24 this season with prime Kobe at SG. Shaq got all his points w/o any 3 ptrs unlike Jokic.
They put extra centers on their roster just to found Shaq that's why the team didn't foul out, them fouling him impacted the game because they took up roster spots to have centers just to foul Shaq , they fouling Shaq out the team over the limit early so now the whole team shooting free throws , you understand how many games they probably won just off shooting free throws most of the game ?, and the rule that they changed for Shaq was cnt foul on purpose if player doesn't have the ball
This is tough for me to admit but I'm leaning toward jokic being a better center than the great Shaquille O'Neal. If the jokic wins a chip this year. And is able to get 2 more before he retires and keeps putting up these monster numbers you just gotta put him up there with kareem, wilt, Hakeem and most likely above Shaquille O'Neal. Remember once they started the hack a shaq, shaq was basically out the game, you try that shit with jokic and he's like 85% from the free throw line, almost automatic. He's a historically great player
*People are weird!!! OK, everyone didn't see Shaq LIVE as did I and others. Let's be honest, though, WE CAN JUST UA-cam IT, SHAQ DOMINATED ALL OPPONENTS*
They are right in different ways. Shaq is physically dominant with dunks, but not overall game dominant in terms of total points scored, assisted, etc. Note also they can't just foul Joker to stop him, coz he can actually make freethrows. They can't just double Joker coz he can actually pass. They can't just get Shaq out of the paint, coz fine, he can shoot 3s.
Jokic and shaq finals performance ppg is th same the rebounds is the same the assists is different and th defense is different and shaq affected both offensive and defensive sides of the game jokic just affect offensive side...shaq more dominant no question
Wrong , u don't need 30 fouls to give at the center spot to play joker, u needed 30 or a bunch of centers to even have a chance to stop shaq, thats dominant because u have to change your roster
Shaq is easily the most dominant big man the modern nba has ever seen and it’s not close. Jokic’s assists are impactful yes but Shaq having a hack a Shaq even though he’s not making the free throws he’s getting his team in the bonus which makes it easier for his teammates to get points at the line and that’s not even including the amount of defensive attention that Shaq took off of guys like Kobe or Derek Fisher or a Robert Horry which is why they are able to hit big shots in big moments.
The league didn't change the rules to stop Hack a Shaq because it was a successful tactic, it was just bad to watch. Hack a Shaq was actually a Hail Mary strategy.
To say hack a Shaq benefitted Shaq's team is not true. You could Shaq he goes to the line and misses, that's an empty possession. Yeah you get to the bonus, but if you keep fouling him, there's no benefit.
theres no way to spin hack a shaq being beneficial towards shaq. also, kobe didnt need any attention to be taken off of him. with the combination of shaq and kobe, it made it easier for others to get open shots down the stretch, thats not just a shaq thing. and yes, shaq is probably the most dominate big outside of wilt, but jokic is more impactful to his team.
@@npkr92facts, that’s how the Spurs beat Phoenix in 2008, they literally were fouling him the whole game, it was terrible to watch but it was effective.

Exactly. They are looking at Shaq's points in a vacuum. The attention he gets on the defensive end, the opposing teams big men he fouled out and the one on one opps for his teammates......all part of the Shaq effects

@@SeanBattleYou literally explained it perfectly

That’s a great point
Exactly bro, Shaq didn’t have to pass, and his presence demanded attention and he had to be double teamed for him
Jokic has ten assists though.
You said it's the pace, so let's think about it as simply as possible, the team scored 90 and Shaq scored 30, thats 30% but let's juet be super generous and say he produced 40 via 1 assist and some rebounds that we're counting, thats still less than 50% of his teams offensive production
Today the team averages 115, and Jokic is literally directly creating 60 points of that, and that's without being generous and counting shit like rebounds, of which he averages the same as Shaq. That's over 50%, it's actually closer to 60
Using your numbers, and even being generous and inflating Shaqs numbers as much as possible to steal man your argument, Shaq never produced 50% of his teams offense, and Jokic never produces less than 50% by a comfortable margin.
Jokic is more dominant, you're talking about muscles, but this is a conversation about basketball, and on the basketball court Jokic does more than shaq.
No one will ever be as Dominant as Shaq was ‼️
Shaq has been surpass by unathletic Euro Center. He just needs more rings
In the paint yes.
But for everything, Jokic beats him to it.
Jokic can shoot 3's too, he had handles too.
It depends on your definition of dominance. Shaq dominated the paint like no one, but Joker dominates the game as a whole.
@@ElTuco84when they change the rule for jokic holla at me
I don’t understand why this is an argument it’s clearly Shaq.

I understand what McCants is saying...
Joker does generate more points from assist and scoring, but Shaq's dominance was him dropping 35-40 while putting the other team in foul trouble which brings in bench players which changes the way their team can defend because of fouling out/foul trouble. etc.
Facts
What are you 15 years old? You def didn’t see Shaq play. Just sit down kid

Shaq played under the current rules & was a less effective player. Everyone considers the NBA like a 1v1 league when it's a team game. Shaq went from 9 straight seasons of 26ppg+ to never averaging over 22 the rest of his career from 04 on. 27ppg in 03, 21ppg in 04. The elimination of Illegal defense was a MASSIVE blow to Shaq's game. The Supersonics gave him trouble. The 2 yrs he won were the 2 yrs they didn't have to face them. All time great. Lost to a team with a lesser center.
Shaq dominated by playing Checkers... Jokic dominates by playing Chess...
Well said
Shaq was more dominant.

The thing is they did foul Shaq and he still put 35pts up😂😂😂
I understand what Gil is saying but it’s wrong. Shaq would get 35-40 on offense, and the mere fact that he was in the game didn’t allow players to even think about taking layups. Maybe it has something to do with 10 triple doubles in this season playoffs. It's a record Wilt kept for like 70 years with his 6 triple doubles. How many does Shaq have? If he doesn’t get 10 assist per game, fine. Let’s say they are all two points. That’s twenty less points
He will get your bench guys into foul trouble every game, leaving starters to play a lot more
Or he can get two starters into early foul trouble, leading to them scoring at least twenty less combined points than they normally would.
Shaq & Jokic are literally both dominant players, but just in totally different styles. Still dominance

Jokic is amazing but c’mon we’re talking about The Diesel
I think assists should NOT be in the conversation when it's about dominance because others need to make that shot for the assist to count. Especially when comparing eras. When dominance is the topic, you need to talk about "stopping power". Can you stop the guy from getting buckets? Can he score at will? It does not matter HOW ( layups, jump shots, or dunks). If you cannot stop the guy and he's scoring at will therefore he is dominant.
Yup that’s a Jokic he can score from anywhere at will. Even from 3

McCants just seems like he’s always so bitter and hateful towards guys he thought he might have been better than at some point.. Cuz everybody on that couch has had a better career than he had

You don't know ball. Stop it.
Your argument is flawed and it also sounds like you missed the point
This ring is all but had
Sorry, Shaq was more dominate.that was wild to watch
I can agree with mccants on this one Shaq is dominant but joker has more impact
Bro just said Shaq had 70-80 FG% 😂
😂 Fr like when he did that shit
@@tregordon21 shaq prolly did that on nba live 2003 😂
Yo this dude just be talking lol
This is tough for me to admit but I'm leaning toward jokic being a better center than the great Shaquille O'Neal. If the jokic wins a chip this year. And is able to get 2 more before he retires and keeps putting up these monster numbers you just gotta put him up there with kareem, wilt, Hakeem and most likely above Shaquille O'Neal. Remember once they started the hack a shaq, shaq was basically out the game, you try that shit with jokic and he's like 85% from the free throw line, almost automatic. He's a historically great player
he didn't mean it literally stupid lol
*People are weird!!! OK, everyone didn't see Shaq LIVE as did I and others. Let's be honest, though, WE CAN JUST UA-cam IT, SHAQ DOMINATED ALL OPPONENTS*
All shorty try’s to do is argue points that are valid. Annoying as hell lmao. Y’all got Rashad on here looking like what he’s saying is BLASPHEMY.
Shaq had 44 , 20 and 5 on 6/6/2001 🤦🏾♂️😂🤣🤣
They are right in different ways.
Defense, Shaq was much more dominant
Jokic and shaq finals performance ppg is th same the rebounds is the same the assists is different and th defense is different and shaq affected both offensive and defensive sides of the game jokic just affect offensive side...shaq more dominant no question
Wrong , u don't need 30 fouls to give at the center spot to play joker, u needed 30 or a bunch of centers to even have a chance to stop shaq, thats dominant because u have to change your roster
Nuggets defense is why they won a championship.Joker impacts the defensive side of the ball.he's a solid defender.
Shaq was a good passer being doubled or not.
McCants was right with his take, when you think dominance you think about the physical aspect of how you’re producing.
That girl do not like mccants😂
Shaq 4 rings. Joker.....maybe 1....against a 8th seed.
The league made it were they was trying to stop Shaq from scoring now the -League is making it easier for joker to score.
Shaq had awesome Finals and Playoffs numbers. Look at NJ Finals. Also, Shaq's DOMINANCE has other effects. Like, fouls, intimidation, changing coaching strategies, etc. Along with CROWD and MOMENTUM effects that wasn't mentioned
McCants is stuck…Joker plays point guard..shoots threes…drop dimes…gets boards and gets buckets!! Shaq is more “physically” dominant with dunks
Played defense too and got 3 finals MVPs straight
If you think shaq dunked every ball you not intelligent at all.
In McCants defense (thought I'd never agree with this man) dominant does feel more like a physical thing and not just stats
This is a bad argument it’s Shaq, scoring isn’t the same. People set up their teams specifically for shaq just shaq. People changed how they played and because they couldn’t stop him without playing jail ball he helped his team just because they gave shaq all the attention
People literally do the same with joker?
@@deagohawkins2424hard disagree the entire league is not geared to stop joker
Shaq would be a liability in todays game
@@jarredsmith1509 he would dunk the ball every play junior
@@Purlypurlington He would get fouled 75% of the time and hit 50% of his free throws. His team would then get 3 balled to death and not be able to keep up.
Ahh dang Mc Cants is back all ready having a bad day!!!
I agree with McCants but he couldnt articulate his point to the fullest
