I followed the account given in Jeremy Seal’s book (see bibliography below), a wonderful account of an incredible story.

Now that I think about it “Santa Claus” does sound Greco-Roman. I thought he was primarily based off of Odin. St. Nickolas sounds like he was a neat guy.
@@Dany_Stormborn that’s so awesome.
He did not come from Odin, Odin didn't bring presents or ride through the night sky. We got modern santa off of Dutch version of Saint Nick (Sinterklaas).
A new video from Uncivil History! A true Christmas gift!
He is back
0:24 my favorite legend.

Just realized you started uploading more and I’m glad for it, thanks for sticking around I love this channel and style. I would like to see the Anglo-Pequot War series finished but I like anything y’all cover so feel free to do whatever works on y’alls end.
The God of Thunder, Taranis and the Cloud Spirit met in heavens above and the world shook as they clashed upon seeing their followers in combat.
@@jeffreygao3956 Pray tell, where do you find these words? Are they your own or of a good source?
Just trying to avoid spoilers!

Saint Nicholas of Myra is my patron saint, thank you for making this video!
Totally showed this to my kids on St. Nicholas Day. Hey, it’s closer than a Rankin-Bass special.
Epic story of Santa Claus.
(Who ever thought that he would came from Greece!)
Nicholas is sorta Greek sounding.
Finish your series on the Pequot war!
Spoilers: The Eastern Jin started to encroach on Chinese territory.
Do the Pequot war pt 3 pls😊
The Tokugawa Shogunate quit playing geopolitics.
Just found this channel and it’s too bad there aren’t many videos.
I’d love if you covered King Phillip’s War, sometime.
Atun-Shei Films covered that war pretty well.
@@jeffreygao3956 Thanks so much for the helpful info! I will watch it.
@@brittybee6615 It's no trouble of mine, winner!

1:08 When Saint nicholas becomes the patron of P#situtes
It's a shame you got shadow-banned, but you did good.
Please make a part 3 to the Pequot war
The Pequot side won and no colonialism happened. They all lived happily ever after.

Should do one on why we celebrate Jesus’s bithday in December when that’s not his real birthday.
He may not be his actual birthday but it’s good that he atleast gets a day to celebrate his birth and resurrection. Even though he deserves much much more
“Santa was greek!”
Google: …
Didn’t people say his roots were also based of pagan Norse mythology?
1:33 Not so fun fact in certain parts of Europe. Main, the Netherlands people will dress up as that characthank you problem is most of them will paint their faces black And paint their Lips red
Yeah…Zwarte Piete is racist.
Sinterklaas
Santa was a proud Shqiptar
he was a a greek christian
Lots of Greeks are Christians.
wtf is this
Saint nicholas is his name. not santa. also, christmas is about jesus. not gifts.
This isn’t a true story of Saint Nicholas 💀
