think those funny clock times might be down to "fuzzy logic" where the cycle time adjusts to current performance. Seems a good piece of kit though, good thing you saved it
Fairly new machine. I have one of these in the 9kg. The ticking noise can be repaired with a chassis repair kit, when you take off the little bolts for the dampeners underneath the chassis can be cracked, but there is a repair kit for it. Chances are it was sitting on a timber floor and cause excess vibration.
Thanks for the info! I’ve had a look on eBay but can’t see anything like it. Might be easy enough to make something up with thin steel plate. I’ll have to have a look.
Ticking is where the cabinet rusts and cracks at the bottom where the shock absorbers connect, it’s a terrible design but it’s repairable by putting a big washer at the bottom where the shock absorbers screw in
I have one of these, but mines the 9kg. It takes a bit at the beginning to weigh your clothes and work out the time it will take, you’ll see the clock icon. It’s been a great machine and I’ve had it for four years
My friend has this in a 7kg it was terrible kept getting blocked because I kept sucking things behind the drum trainer socks etc after 14 months it was thrown out because it started leaking and found a hole in the tub just under the detergent chamber worst record for a hotpoint I seen lol. I had the hotpoint style washer dryer it was good bar in the end it kept getting stuck on final spin for ages 45 mins most of the time trying to re balance constantly no matter what load was in there but would spin fine during rinse and spin just go wrong at final spin so was pot luck if you’re clothes would be spun or not at the end of cycle most of the time it didn’t! So got a new lg turbowash that was just over a year ago and I still love it.
i had this in white but 7kg gave it to my family, my sister also has the 7kg in silver but cotton eco model and it’s 4 years old next year january it’s decent machine
These models are quite popular its around 4-5 years old maybe - good machine i nearly got one of these instead of the WMFUG942P. and mine is 9kg but doesnt have the steam hygine setting but has the tub clean cycle. i think its strange it was thrown out - good solid machine and 10kg very nice! its not vibrating either, its a silent model to.. apart from putting on a 90' wash im not sure what else is wrong if anything. maybe they just didnt like it not sure. them 15min cycles are so silly i thought the 30min on mine was bad enough but 15mins is pretty nuts lol great to see you back in the washer mix :D interesting to see the other hotpoint u got :D samsung still going strong great to hear
This cycle took so long because it spent a lot of time trying to balance the load for spins - I think these were the moments you weren't sure what it was doing and the timer seemed stuck. Some machines will try to balance the load once or twice and if they can't, they'll just move onto the next stage without a spin. People either complain about the machines not spinning or taking too long on a quick cycle - you can't win. At about 17:25 I saw some black bits floating around. If these bits aren't off your rags, then I'd say a good boil wash with bleach is needed - an ideal time to wash all your rags. I thought you had a motor controller that could control inverter motors?
i also noticed the lack of a snappy operation, the computer needed a kick up the terminals lol :-D I had an ancient Service 1000 machine that had a rotating cylinder and switches that were operated as the cylinder slowly rotated. It was an amazing machine, 20 years old and you could wash bricks if you wanted to lol.
Where I live perfectly good appliance are given away on the eco groups or left outside houses all the time. I keep things until they are completely useless but i suppose thats because I'm in my 60's. I've had 2 tumble dryers in my adult life and the current one- a small 'white knight'- is 21 years old and the doir hinge is broken- it still works uf you wedge it on. Mind you the cost of electricity now , I rarely use it and certainly wouldn't replace it
The control panel looks very cheap and not thought out well enough. is it likely that hotpoint has been bought up by a different company? (Beko) lol. The question is, Can you heal it Bootsowen :-D Im sure you can make it better.
Haiers are pretty good, look cheap but keep going, I have had one for a good while now, it gets no abuse, but it is still going, and I got it with a burnt out motor that needed a refurb. Working no issues since
@@bootsowen So are you saying the burnt out motor was not in the machine originally and the one in the machine was fine? I got a bit confuzzled there lol :-D i often get my worms wrong (Ronnie barker the two ronnies) :-D
C00536888 is the number of the kit you are looking for mate, and you get the year by the serial number, skip the first 2 numbers and number 3 and 4 will be 18 or 19 or 20 and will be the year of the machine
Thanks Balfie, I searched for that earlier on my phone and got nothing but now it works, looks simple to make in the shed, if I do it'll be another video!
@@bootsowen not a bother buddy. If ya do make it, drill the holes through the chassis, and then the plate goes on the inside of the chassis, directly under the dampener,

Decent machine that, not a bad find!
Thanks

I might give that a go, balfie suggested a repair kit, but I can't find it, I would prefer not to spend any money on it.

i had this in white but 7kg gave it to my family, my sister also has the 7kg in silver but cotton eco model and it’s 4 years old next year january it’s decent machine
If you can sort it sort it, give it a good spruce, but check the inside anyway

What could I use the steam setting for? Maybe cooking potatoes!

I am a big fan of those click through devices, robust!
Now that's a machine not old either as it's eco 40 60 model 3 yrs old max I'd say and that door glass is normal it's supposed to be turnt like that
Why would they get rid of what I would call a new machine?
@@bootsowen who knows
@@bootsowen people are stupid these days
people like new stuff
@@bootsowen why can't they just sell their old appliances if they are still working?
I have a similar machine but only 7KG and brushed
I'm guessing the old owner was having a new kitchen fitted and gone for integrated appliances. Probably couldn't be bothered selling it . Great find.
These machines are nice it has to be atleast 2years old or either a year old or a couple of months old you can still get these brand new
I wonder how much they are?
@@bootsowen online they are about over £300
I think this one cost atleast £345
@@bootsowen 329,99 £ on the original Hotpoint site
Not too bad with that machine
Nice find! seems pretty new and maybe the boor glass was changed improperly.
Maybe, but it is probably just like that!
@@bootsowen yes i looked it up on google and it's like that
Door glass normal to be turned and long wait before long normal
This is one of the new Hotpoints so it's not that old
Good one for bricking😅
It's a complete waste to brick a working washer
It was a complete waste to throw it out.
@@danhutchinsonbackup Its Indesit made. Its not a waste as its gonna be on scrap very soon anyway😁
@@bootsowen I agree
@@bogdannb it is a waste to just brick it. It's best to just use it while it lasts
I would think it will suddenly get faster
I’ve one and I always think it’s broke mine works like that two it’s a pain in the arse

Check the cabinet where the shocks are mounted to. It might be cracked there, causing the ticking noises. Common fault on these machines
I will, thanks.
considering its got eco 40-60 its less than 4 years old
Very new!
Built in April 2021

Candy/hoover have even cheaper control panels. I'll admit I abused my candy. But my hoover is also poorly made and I have not abused it
Hotpoint owned by G.E
GE sold it's appliance division to Haier of China, to close in 2016.
No wonder its crap!!.

I can't even get a google out of that code, unusual, are you in a specialist parts website or something?
No, I have the part on my van, still work for hotpoint, have 2 of them, Google hotpoint chassis repair kit. Should come up as chassis repair kit (new)
