Here we will replace the dead battery in a late model Maserati key fob with a fresh one. We will need a Number 6 Torx or star bit, a very small screwdriver and a new CR 2032 battery. This one is especially important because the manual, with the instructions, is in the entertainment center, and inaccessible if the fob is dead, without knowing a few tricks.
FCC ID: M3N-7933490, M3N7933490
Part number PN: 70019938, 5923336AG, 5923336AH
This remote also fits:
12 13 14 15 16 17 18 Maserati Quattroporte
14 15 16 17 18 Maserati Ghibli
2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020
Thank you.. Instructions were perfect my out of pocket was $4, the dealers fee was $75 per key. I changed them both for my 2018 Maserati Quauttroporte.. Girl Power!!
Atta girl!! Glad the video could help you same some cash!
Thanks so much! Took me about 15 minutes to find my T6 screw bit , then it took all of 6 minutes to change the battery in both fobs!
Glad you could get it sorted
I bought a 2017 Maserati 2 days ago and this video was perfect and helpful! Thanks for posting it!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for this. Seems pretty simple. The dealership told me to replace the key fob for 600 dollars, they are tripping. Cant wait to tell them how easy it was to replace the battery for 12 bucks ( I got the batteries at Walmart so they were a little more expensive).
Glad this video helped you save some of your cash ;)
Thanks. The key shop was going to charge £37 but then said that they didn’t have a T6 bit. So I bought a full set of bits and 2 batteries and did it myself. Both keys now working 😊
Perfect instructions! I’m an old lady and even I could follow them! Thanks very much!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Perfect - thanks for that ! I even had the right Torx in my screwdriver set. Nice to see it's CR2032 - the most common LI button battery - I had a few of them ! - cool
Right on! Glad you could get it sorted out with things you already owned
I am completely non mechanically inclined and I just replaced the battery on my Levante fob thanks to your help!
You're welcome! Glad you could get it done!
Wow! Really easy ! I actually used an “ eye glass” repair tool kit and it worked! I bought it in Walgreens! Thank you so much for sharing this video!! Very helpful video!
Glad it helped!
Ha! Me too.

Thank you Rob, clear, simple and quick instructions. 👍🏻
no problem! Glad I could help
Thanks, perfect instructions and worked like a charm. For my 2020 Maserati, T6 was right for outer screw and smaller circuit board screw.
You saved me hundreds of bucks dude. You're the man, Rob!
Sweet! Glad I could save you some cash!
Great video, I would have been struggling to get it opened without knowing that there were two T6 screws to be removed 👍
Glad it was helpful!
I used a tiny flat head since I didn't have the torx and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the video!
Excellent!
Thanks!
No problem!
I change my car key now. It was easy to show your directions. Thank you!!!!
👍
Thank you! Done in under 5 minutes
Glad it helped!
Thank you. Clear, concise. Bought the Wera micro set from Amazon. Confidently sorted.
Well done!
Thank you. I can't belive I actually bought a tork thingy by mistake last year
Came in handy!!
Thanks! I didn’t have a T6 but it worked with a smaller screwdriver. The video saved me a lot of time.
No problem 👍
Which one did you use?
Perfect - never could have done it without this video!
No problem 😊
Thanks!!!...Just saved me $200...I only spent $5.47 for the battery at walmart.
Yo! That's good stuff!!
Worked like a charm, for a maserati levante SUV... great clip
Great to hear!
Great video you took your time explaining how to do it. worked well Just hold on to your t6 driver!
Glad it helped
This worked great! Perfect instructions! I changed batteries in both key fobs as they indicated being low. Only thing for me that I found was it was not a T6 but a T5. I have a 2019 Maserati. Fortunately the kit I bought also had a T5. Not sure why mine was different but just a tip for others if they find the same thing. Thanks for putting it together!
You bet! Glad I could help make your day a little bit easier!
Thank you kind sir! Just replaced mine, thanks for your help!
Glad I could help!
Very easy to follow. THANK YOU
You are welcome!
thanks for the tip - T6 was spot on for my 2016
Glad it helped!
Thanks, big help.
FYI I didn't have a small enough (T-6) torx bit but found out the .050 hex driver worked.
Used - Gorilla Grip Fold Up 9 Pc.Multi set. .050 - 3/16"
Great tip!
Worked perfectly! Thank you sir. 👏
Glad it helped
As Fredmonster2004 wrote, mine didn't appear to have a circuit board, and a tiny spring popped out too!
When I popped it open, the OTHER SIDE had popped off, revealing a black plastic surface, which is actually a compartment with the circuit board on the other (hidden) side.
I had to pry that apart from the cover - using the screwdriver technique Robbie showed.
Once that popped off, the circuit board was on the other side and I could get to it.
The tiny spring goes into a tiny hole near at the top near where the ring attaches - it's for the emergency key button.
The video was a great help. Thanks, Robbie!
Glad it was helpful for you!!
My husband took his apart and a small spring came out. Do you know where a spring would go?
It will likely go underneath the button that needs to be depressed to slide the mechanical key out.
Thanks for the video! Simple and helpful
You're welcome ;)
Great video. Directions were easy to follow.
Glad you could get it sorted out 👍🏻
Thanks, Maserati Ghibli 2017 works!
Excellent!
Omg Yassss!! Thank You!! Simple, easy, inexpensive. Would not have figured this out without one these videos n probably would of gone to the dealer n they would of upcharged me up the ass! 🙌🏽 🙌🏽
No doubt! Glad I could help you save a bunch of time and cash! Take it easy

Thanks for making this helpful and informative video 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks helpful. Found out the center metal piece only goes in one way so the cast halves fit 2018 Ghibli. Big, surprise to me, went I went to the garage to test the function, I had accidentally started the car. Ran for about 45 seconds my garage cam texted a picture to my iwatch. Phew.
Glad the video was helpful!

T5 screw bit for my fob.
My two original key fobs doesn’t have the hard key but to remove, which is the first part of the video? (2018 model)
Thanks my man 💪
No problem 👍
Interesting... the printed circuit of this key fob looks similar to the DODGE and CHRYSLER key fob.
If I had one (for DODGE) without the PANIC soft key, I'm sure it fits perfectly inside the Maserati key fob shell and works properly.
Very useful! Thanks!
You're welcome
Thanks a million 😊
No problem
Great video and instructions but woeful fob design from Maserati.
Agreed!
Thank you so much!!!
You're welcome!
Other than trying to find the $.56 T-6 bit, and paying $7.00 in shipping it was much easier with the video help than going 30 minutes to the dealer.
Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you. Dealer wanted to charge quite a bit to do this, of course. $14 for four batteries (smallest pack they had) and about five minutes of my time. By the way, 2018 Levante and batteries already dead seemed way too short a time. My other high end cars have lasted much longer. Anyone else get only two years?
2-3 years is about average. Maybe a little on the short side but not crazy low.
Thanks great video....easy to follow.
Great!
Excellent. Easy
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for showing that.
No problem 👍
NOTE: Just stay away as far as possible from the coil behind the circuit board
thank you!!!
You're welcome!
You saved me thanks
No problem 👍
Thank you this video saved me $400 😉
Glad I could help!
Thank you very much for your detailed explanations but to Maserati >> Why make things simple when you can make them so complicated to change a Key Fob battery ?
You are welcome! Glad I could make your day a little bit easier
Having trouble getting the inner screws out! Have purchased tiny set with screw/flat heads. Anyone had trouble? What is the problem?
Do you have a t6 torx screwdriver? amzn.to/3E8EFkS
Well done thanks
No problem 👍
Can you show me how to replace the engine now? 😂lol jk. Thanks for the video. Love my maserati
LOL!
What kind of drill is that?
This is the size you need - amzn.to/3oy7EEP
Any drill or screwdriver with the T6 bit will do
This is funny in many levels Ferrari people go to the dealership Maserati people search DIY videos! not making fun folks I own a Toyota am DIY people myself
😂 mine went dead… then I lost all of my keys… then I tried to use the dead key and my alarm was going off 30 minutes flat lmao I just unhooked the battery 😟 here because I’m replacing my battery today

How do you put a keyring on this lol.
Ha! A lot of patience
@@KeyFobRob lol a bit of patience did work!
Great video, don’t recommend using a drill 🤔
Just need to be careful ;)
Damn now I’m trying to find a T6 lol

Thank you!
You're welcome
T7 works
USD$2
Thnkuh sir
You're welcome!
mine doesn't have a circuit board as you open it up. how do I get around that?
There has to be a circuit board in there somewhere. How is yours different?
It uses 'The Force', doesn't need any batteries or circuit board....
I could see Vader driving a Maserati
next I need to know how to change that fucking oil filter so I dont have to pay 600 bucks for an oil change
😍👌👍
👍🏼
no t6 in linked set
Yeah - Here it is : amzn.to/2Cuqbsn
Disgusting how much a "dealer" would charge you to do this simple thing. I wonder why they have such a horrible reputation?
They aren't nicknamed stealerships for nothing
Man, don't use a metal screwdriver to pry the plastic parts off, it damages the casing. Use a plastic pry tool.
And also use a bit of blue Loctite to put on the long screw holding the side metal parts together. If it gets loose the small metal pins on the center piece might break.
Both good suggestions. Thanks
The most ridiculously over-complicated method of changing a battery... I will stick to my honda accord :)
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you! This video was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks mate.
