Eeek I’m 70 year old woman I bought my 2005 Audi S4 Quattro used damn I can’t do this to get myself a spare key, WHY did Audi made it so difficult to have a spare key made? Anything else I can do. I had to replace the battery but haven’t had it reprogrammed to use the FOB if I knew this I never would have bought this car. Damn what can I do????
Hey, great video. I used one of your vids for a Jetta key, however for this Audi one, once I've transferred the electronics... they don't seem to work I've seen a few videos that say a Audi keys need to be reprogrammed / resync'd with the car after battery replacement, and I've tried a few different ones and nothing seems to work
Hi. Thanks a lot for this video, I was able to replace the bar after watching to the end. Had to file down the original a little to get it to fit. The top part of key was a little more difficult to get off. The transponder is well and truely glued in, will try with acetone.
Something to note, a very safe way to remove the top transponder chip can be done with nail polish remover. With the chip exposed, apply nail polish remover and this will break the glue's bond from the chip with the case. From there, it is easy to remove the chip without using heat or risking a chance of breaking this glass chip. If you are not comfortable, DO NOT try removing the glass chip. The safest way is to apply acetone (or nail polish remover) to remove the glue's bond so it easily comes off. Do not attempt to remove the chip without heat or it can break. If you break the transponder chip you're out at least $150
Thank you for this video! I have break the glass of the chip and the key doesn't work! If i use the chip of another key, do you think it's going to work?
Hi, I would like to ask that is it possible to learn on one key fob to the 2 different cars( I have a GolfMK4 and an Audi A4B5 as well). I mean to the centr.locking system only, to oper/close two cars with the same key. Thanks for reply!
Hello! I have a problem and maybe you know it. I have two original audi a3 2002 keys with which I could open the door from the remote control and both could be used when starting. (door only with remote control because I think the previous owner changed the hub). The other day, the key I was using no longer opens with the remote control (but I can start the car with it). I changed the batteries because I think they were discharged, but the remote control still doesn't work. I tried the reprogramming version: put it in the ignition, turn it 4 times and press and hold lock/unlock. Or put ignition pressed 2 long on lock and removed. In vain. Is it possible that the chip has something? What else can be done in this case? The second key works normally
Hello, the remote programming needed for this type of Audi requires a key in the door lock and another in the ignition. Try this way, there are videos on UA-cam showing the process.
If this is the case, there is still a way to program the remote. There is a video showing how to program with only one key, you will have to remove the door lock but it will work@@adrianilie1862
Hello, we would suggest using acetone to break the glue's bond. There should be a comment from us about this, we don't recommend the microwave and be careful as it's glass.
@@sickvic3909 Hello, yes some will squeeze a 1620 over a 1616 battery for more life. Take your time and do not break the transponder chip, especially when it can be removed easier by applying more heat. Breaking the transponder will mean the key will not start the vehicle, and a local automotive locksmith or dealership will have to program a new key to the vehicle. If this step seems hard simply attach the top end to the new bottom end of the replacement key.

Excellent guide, thanks! I found that with a tiny bit of solder, the pins release much quicker.

Best Tutorial out there Thank You
excellent tutorial video. thanks
Thank you the video was very helpful. Even though I replaced the battery my key fob still still doesn’t work
Hello, reprogramming the remote to the Audi should resolve the issue. This can happen with a battery change, it needs to be paired again.
Great video with some great tips. On thing though; @3:12 you say that the battery is a 1616, but I think it is a 1620.
Yes CR1620 fits but they cost a lot more and harder to find
Thank you. Just subscribed but idk how to turn CC on 😅
Nice one mate👍👍👍

If i heat that trasponder glass chip in microwave 5 seconds to remove it, will it be damage?

My remote didn't have a battery in it. What then?
Thank you for the information. Audi has the worst key design
good job, thanks
Very good.
Me too I'm a 1% it came out no heat needed
My transponder glass broke on me by accident damn
Hey nice
mine STILL is so damn hard to slide out. Frustrated every single time.
Why not just swap the whole blade out
Lol, im the 1% haha.
What type of battery is?
Hello, it will either be 1x CR2032 or 2x CR1616 batteries
@@fasterautokeys mine is 1620, what happpens if I break the tranponder?
