Talking over someone and shouting a stupid personal attack like "don't mansplain" just makes you look stupid and like you can't form a logical argument of your own. It serves no purpose, it is rude, childish, and it gets no one to agree with you. Once you stoop to acting like this you've already lost the argument, whether you're right or not.

As a European watching this I am completely baffled by the disrespect some of these women show towards a guest on their show. Despite stating his case in perhaps somewhat absolute terms, he is generally right. Most European countries don't mess as much with their economies as the American socialists want to mess with theirs. We know better because we can see the effects socialism had on Eastern European countries that are still recovering. Yes there are big governments and high taxes here and there, but that's possible because of the free market system.
I think if the interviewers had behaved in a more respectful manner this could have been a good educational interview. And it would have also allowed them to present their own counter-arguments in a more effective way.
What... Than having a bunch of clapping seals ooo and awe every time a cue card is held up.

@@cassahelene9008 Google shows average income of tax of 44% in Sweden plus a 25% VAT, which is almost 70%. In the U.S., there is no federal sales tax, and income tax for a median income earner would be a tiny fraction of that. The Swedish tax system is WAY flatter.

Speaking from someone who runs a small business and works at a fortune 500 with an MBA and personally prepares all my taxes for both. That's an asinine statement Id expect from a teenager. Or a tax policy ignorant politician in this case.
Well the best solution is no personal federal income tax. Property tax pays for public school system. Gasoline tax pays for roads. State income and sales tax pay for local police and other services.

He is actually telling the truth regarding the high taxes in Scandinavia.
The top marginal tax rates for Denmark, Sweden, and Norway are 60.4%, 56.9%, and 39.0% respectively, compared to 46.9% for the US.
On its own, that does not seem to be such a drastic difference, with Norway being even lower.
However, the critical point is that those top rates are applied much sooner than in the US. In Denmark at 1.2x the average Danish salary (1.2 x c.50K= 60K), 1.5x in Sweden, 1.6x in Norway.
In the US, however, the top marginal tax rate kicks in at 8.5 times the average salary, constituting c.400k salary.
This is the point that is he trying to make and, it is factually accurate. So maybe the other commenters are below the above threshold in Scandinavia, nonetheless, it is quite clearly a much more flat taxation system than in the US.

"Do you think that is a fair statement to make?" is obviously going to, most likely, include a yes or no, but it then is pretty safe to say that more context is going to be needed to justify the yes or no answer. If he had simply answered yes that's fair, you would probably want to know more. If he had simply answered no that's not fair, you would probably want to know more. What you should honestly say is that you do not care what his answer is regardless of what he says and that you just want somebody to be angry at.
His answer was "if you vote for a socialist, you might get a socialism". That's not left field. He exposed how dumb her question was and she could only respond with emotion.

I have a good job as a psychologist, but my mom who came from Africa with lower education is struggling. I have to help her out, before the government would help out, now less and less. They were never a country where you want to do business in because of the risk of nationalization. China is an authoritarian country as well and their economy is booming and will continue to boom. Its not dictatorship or democracy that matters here, its centralization, that is the crux here because Xi is pretty corrupt too.
