Donna Summer is and will always be the queen of disco. She is an amazing singer . I was lucky to have been a teenager in the disco Era and it was the best !! Music was the best back then.
An absolute legend. There is and never will be another voice like hers. She sang FULL VOICE, and could belt out a note like no one else. She will be remembered through her music and incredible talent for all time. My beautiful, dear friend... I miss you so.
I didn't know she passed. A big chunk of my childhood died along with her. She was my favorite female singer of all time. Used to listen to her 45 records in my room, singing into my hairbrush like I was her! RIP Donna...such a magnificent voice!!
One of the most complex songs to sing - over 6 minutes long , layers, orchestrure, backup singers, live - and Miss Summer pulls it off like it is fun, no problem. BTW, watch her sing 'Last Dance' on Johnny Carson in 1978.
What a voice! I will never forget the day she died. Of course, she didn't parade around with her illness looking for sympathy while she was alive. She is singing in front of the beautiful throne of God for eternity. Rest in Peace, Donna...
I was shocked at how little acknowledgement she received from the industry after she passed away. That made me sad. She was legendary in multiple ways...a trailblazer who's music rocked the nightclubs, radio stations, and music charts during much of the 1970s and early 80s in a very big way. When Disco ruled there was no one who was consistently better or bigger than she was. Of all the big voiced divas there are three of them that stand out above the rest: Dame Shirley Bassey, Whitney Houston, and Donna Summer. All three are blessed and gifted beyond words, but Donna stood out as a person who never let money, fame, or the industry rob her of her faith. If you've never seen her, watch any of the concerts she did towards the latter years before she got sick. She was so mellow, and she was always talking about how The Lord enriched her life. Yes, she will rest in peace until The Lord brings her back to life again. And he will. The Resurrection was the whole point of Jesus' ministry.
Definitely so very beautiful. Watching this video I cried knowing she fought her illness to the end. The one and only Donna meant so much to millions who also cried when hearing of her passing. In the 70's I was much younger and now I am 72, but her music made many of my sad times seem so much brighter because of Donna Summer. This was my favorite of all. Sing to the Heavens Donna ! We all Loved You. Always in my heart - Butch.
The most fabulous disco singer of all generations. She was incomparable singer, she was simply the best. This concert in Belgium shows your importance and magnitude for all people in the world. We can see orchestre, chorus, back vocals, the music arrangement, all this is fantastic. And finally, your powerfull and magnificent voice.
I was s street artist on La Cienega in Los Angeles in the mid 70s when I 1st met Donna Summer. OMG! Its my idol and had been dancing to her disco hits for years. She bought 3 of my large paintings and asked if I can deliver it to her Ihome on Benedict Canyon. OMG. A couple of months later I saw her at her concert with friends at Universal. Unforgettable! I gathered all my friends programs and mailed them and I asked if she would please autograph the programs. Got it back in 2 weeks. Such a classy lady. Few people will remember that she sang the Oscar winning song, Last Dance, in a movie she starred in. Gone too soon. I wonder how her daughters are doing.
I lived in the Middle East and Disco was the main source of entertainment. We were contract workers making $150/month only, and we hung out with some of the stock traders and Royal Family members in the bar.
Donna is one off our great disco queens what a voice and stage appearance no one can take her crown thank you for your voice & songs and just for you being Donna!❤

Thank you for this - forever.
Her voice is 100% unique with resonance of a brass horn. Unlike other vocalists whose voices deteriorate with age, Donna's voice actually got better. There will never be another Donna Summer.
This lady nailed this song completely. I miss her, even now. And what an incredible ensemble to back Donna! Every one of them deserves credit for the fantastic sound. Collective genius.
Dale, It's a metaphor for the song writers relationship with his lady. He made a bad mistake (left the cake out in the rain) and he lost his one true love (and I'll never have that recipe again) meaning he'll never have a love like that again. Have a great day and keep listening to great 80"s music. -- I may be a little off on my knowledge of the song, Google "Jimmy Webb" the lyricist to find out more. The original singer was Richard Harris.
Totally superb performance and wonderful video. MacArthur Park by Jimmy Webb is one of all time favourite songs. The performance by Richard Harris takes some beating but Donna as always gives a simply superb cover version of this classic number. Donna had a special talent for making you feel alive and vibrant. My favourite album of her's is "Another Time, Another Place," which is totally fantastic.
Ok did anyone else notice the date this was done, and when she hit that first note, get chills on chills? Geez ! RIP Ms. Summer, we won't EVER let you die ! Thank you for everything !!!!!!
My daughter met her on an internship at MTV for Save The Music-Divas Live during her college education in music. She was so gracious and lovely. I rec'd an autographed CD which I cherish.
She was a big enough presence not to get lost in that monstrous stage show.

Her 56yr old voice is better here than when she sang the original studio version as a twenty-something. Phenomenal octave range never faltered. One of the most spine-tingling performances I've ever seen/heard.
How does anyone not love her! I can't believe there are thumbs down! WTH! She's a legend! One of my absolute favorites! Even my momma, a die-hard country music fan, had her albums! She was hands down, undoubtedly The Queen!♥️
There are people in life who are to good to be true. Donna Summer is the ONE, there is nothing more that I would have loved in my life but to see her live, at least once. Amazing!!!! You left too early, way too early. There will never be anyone like you!
Donna Summer had it all. Grace, beauty, matchless voice, and personable. The Queen of Disco. There was nothing phony about her music and voice. Miss her... God give her perfect peace

My favourite album of her's is "Another Time, Another Place," which is totally fantastic.
lmo richard harris is a poor version plastic penny is a good effort
Rest In Peace 🙏 🪦 there will never be another like you Donna Summers/Tina Marie 2 Queens in Heaven
There's something about this performance. She goes to another level. RIP Donna.
It's magical!
i agree...she is childlike just beautiful
Totally agree with you. Listening still on NOVEMBER 8th, 2018. GOD bless her beautiful soul.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s like. Perfect.
Chills is right.
Amazing performance.

There are people in life who are to good to be true. Donna Summer is the ONE, there is nothing more that I would have loved in my life but to see her live, at least once.

Miss Donna aged just like the finest wine being served to the GODs
Donna Summer had it all. Grace, beauty, matchless voice, and personable. The Queen of Disco. There was nothing phony about her music and voice. Miss her... God give her perfect peace
Wow, the power in her voice and.. ehm.. no autotune in sight. These are the real artists 😘
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ MAGNIFICENT, UNFORGETTABLE VOICE, our forever QUEEN, you live on in the hearts of millions...........R.I.P.
What a song! What a voice! I think Donna S. is the best vocalist that ever recoreded this song.
yep
The Richard Harris version is good, but Donna's is better :)
Woww es maravillosa esta canción con todo su Equipo Orquestra voz , coristas etc
How we wish that she could visit us for a while and we could be happy again instead of this everlasting sorrow we are feeling now. May God hold you in his grace, sweet Donna!

And what happened, right?! Something went wrong...
Wolter - no respect for the dead?
