ALL IPADS: HOME BUTTON NOT WORKING, STUCK, STICKY, LAGGY, UNRESPONSIVE, BROKE- 3 EASY FIXES

- I give you 3 possible easy fixes to get your home button working again without the need to open your iPad. Note that the third option is not a fix but a work around and you will be able to take screen shots this way too.
Here are the 3 possible fixes / workarounds
1- Re-calibrate home button- especially good for slow or laggy home button.
2- Rubbing Alcohol- dirt, grime, sand, lint, hand lotion, soda, etc can be stuck around or in the crevices of the home buton.
3- Assistive Touch- This is a workaround but you will also be able to take screen shots.

Thanks! The recalibration worked. I had already restarted a few times without success but tried your first method. I held it for a while and restarted it and bam, it works now.
Worked like a charm. It took three tries while cleaning with alcohol and now it is as good as new. Thanks for the tip.

That first trick did it. Had the home button sticking and would make a loud click and now its reset. Awesome. Thanks man

Hi I have an old phone it is Sony Xperia T2 it constantly freezes and when you switch it off it does not open instantly and u have to press the power button a couple of times to open it. Any help? Or do I have to buy a new phone
Thanks!!!! I've had this issue for awhile. I honestly have just been using the button on top to turn my iPad OFF every time I need to go to a new something new like Internet, camera, iHeart, etc. I'll be using that third option lol

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Being in the middle of a coronavirus pandemic, and my home button became hard to press. Can’t bring it to the Apple store. I kept getting Siri when trying to just open and close apps. Your second suggestion worked for me. I didn’t have rubbing alcohol so I used a bit of precious hand sanitizer on a q tip. It works great now.
You could just use siri just say home screen

🌈🦋 The latest update is not working for me I would rather have the one before this because it would still auto play things on Netflix and You Tube; Picture in picture, and didn’t shut it off every 20 minutes so is there a way to take my iPad Pro and transfer the information from my iPad mini which still does play auto play and transfer that information to the iPad Pro?(otherwise the app when you have it picture in picture so that you can work and still listen to it turns it off at the end of every show and it just goes bleep and disappears off the screen .the iPad Pro got the latest update loaded it on but Stopped having auto play.So is there a way to go back and take away an update? I like. the way you teach, I can really understand what you say. I really appreciate the information in your video.👩🏻💻🙂

Nothing seems to work for our iPad mini. I noticed the sticky home button a while back and put the home assist feature on. Fast forward to today, the iPad is disabled and the home assist does not respond on the locked screen. No cable seems to register for charging or connecting to my computer either, making a reset not possible, as as I can figure.

Hi just to let you know l followed your instructions and used the assist in settings and got back in , then I remembers back in the 80s I had a beta vision recorder and the instructions said to use a hair dryer on the buttons and top vent , I tried it on the iPad home button , it got quite hot and the button started to respond. Just thought I would pass that on . THANKS FOR YOUR HELP . AL. GREETINGS FROM CANADA.

On an ipad 6th generation after a while is the home button supposed to sound like it’s a bit weird? it still works but triggers me when it makes that noise
I am so grateful. It still does not work, but it worked long enough to get the iPad past the Hello screen to turn on the Assistive Touch. Thank you sooooo much. I thought my iPad was rendered useless because I could not get past the Hello screen and it kept asking me to push the home button, which I could not do. Apple could not even help me on the phone.
