Similar to how Gascoigne has a death animation in phase 1
Almost every boss has a death animation for phase 1, the only boss I can think of that doesn’t have one is Orphan of Kos
Maybe it’s just to make sure nothing glitches out if you somehow manage to one shot em’
It can be done. If you can do more than half their health in a single hit you should be able to get a death in phase 1 on any boss. Now in order to do that you'd have to farm chalice dungeons for ages i think haha

At 1:28 that music syncs up very satisfyingly. This is why I love Ludwig, fights almost look like dances from him.
well, I was rooting for the holy blade, but I was expecting the accursed to win since he is way more aggressive
Accursed has staggering parts while Holy Blade does not stagger at all.
@@vanjaarsic1616 Actually Ludwig the Holy blade does stagger! But Ludwig the Accursed would have had to do immense damage repeatedly to the same area in order for that , which he couldn’t as Ludwig the Holy Blade barely let him get a successful attack chain on himself!
Also Accursed couldn’t utilise Ludwig’s blind spot behind him and kept trying to fight him at the range of the Holy Moonlight sword , which just didn’t work for him at all as the sword was always up and front attacking him/staggering him.
He was definitely aggro asf in this fight
I find this strange as phase one always gave me more trouble, I've only died to phase 2 once. The difficulty drop, on top of the phase 1 charge (I hate that attack) are why I dont consider Ludiwig the best Bloodborne boss, he's top five for sure, just a little too flawed to be #1, Gherman is my #1 Bloodborne boss BTW, and actually my #2 overall (behind Gael of course).
@@AceAviations2 I find phase 2 harder than first phase on higher ng+ cycles.

I predict Ludwig the Holy Blade to win as even though he isn’t as aggressive, his attacks/strategy are mostly tactical and precise whilst Ludwig the Accursed , despite being more offensive, would miss some of his attacks due to how wild they are. Not to mention Ludwig the Holy Blade has better reach due to his weapon and doesn’t get staggered as easily as Ludwig the Accursed. Oh and also who could forget those AoEs that the AI needs to be intelligent enough to avoid , another factor that gives Ludwig the Holy Blade an advantage.
I believe the only reason we as the player struggle with Ludwig the Accursed is because how big he is compared to us , so we can’t control the fight and his aggression . This element of difficulty gets taken away when a stronger and larger (and more tactical) opponent is in place , which will cause Ludwig the Accursed to not be as successful in his attacks or the opponent to be completely overrun by his aggression. With these reasons , I believe Ludwig the Holy Blade is likely to be the victor.
Let’s see though who shall remain victor in the end!

As a boss his phase one is harder because it is more unpredictable but in this where it is two ai fighting they don’t dodge at all so it it ends up just being who can attack the most with the most damage which the holy blade does more of but it is just easier to dodge

It is a nice attack especially when your not under it .
I wonder if it was the same jump though as Ludwig the Accursed has two , a jump that he falls relatively quickly from and the one he drips blood when he’s in the air. Though those above my comment maybe right about the blood one being an arena specific attack!
Edit : Saw people on Reddit saying that the longer jump is not actually arena specific because he doesn’t hold onto anything rather that he disappears (legit shrinks lol) and then appears above the player. So it could have happened in this fight but would have looked rather strange!

This is a masterpiece! Imagine this being played in nanoseconds inside Ludwig head when he enters his second phase. I knew the Holy Blade would win, but the Accursed fought better than I thought. The cake was when Ludwig prepared his charge huge sword attack, not only in perfect time with the music, but also cutting through the Accursed arcane blow , as if the holyness was clearing the impure path .

He was definitely one of the most memorable fights in Bloodborne.
As in, I died to this guy so many times I had to memorize his entire moveset
0:14 Love how the Accursed starts the fight with his leap attack at you, but the Holy Blade goes straight for him as if to defend you, the hunter defending others from the beast.
0:44 The Holy Blade interrupts the Accursed's charge attack with his signature combo attack, pretty lit if I say so myself
0:52 The Accursed backs up to give himself more space for his ranged attack, whilst the Holy Blade charges his heavy ranged attack and interrupts the beast's attack
1:30 I like how you timed the Holy Blade's theme to synchronize with his massive charge attack, I had been waiting for him to use it the entire fight and the song helped make the payoff that much sweeter
1:58 the Accursed perfectly countered the Holy Blade's heavy attack by leaping into the air, avoiding the damage from his attack and punishing him for missing
In the end I think what really allowed the Holy Blade to overcome the Accursed was the fact that not ONCE were any of his attacks interrupted, if they had been the Accursed would've easily taken the cake. I have a newfound respect for this boss and character in general from watching these two fight, it really emphasizes how stalwart the man was to his ideals and humanity before he was ultimately undone by the beastial nature he had been trying to deny for so long.
This is why I love the bloodborne fandom yo...
Reading this in a sports narration style makes this very enjoyable fight even more enjoyable!!

Accursed is weak to arcane.
I haven't even played these games but it feels as though I jumped into an amazing series mid-way through.. The comments and the very end of the fight make this seem like an emotional beat. The final blow is angry, desperate, hacking away at the remains like an enemy HB's been fighting for years to only now finally slay.
This is why I feel like this fight is more badass than other ones, an actual battle of 2 instead of brainless AI’s charging eachother

I know what you mean! But it’s all because from a player perspective, Ludwig the Holy blade is easier as we know how to utilise his blind spot and his attacks are telegraphed well so it’s not overwhelming. However put an Ai (another enemy) in that place and undoubtedly they would be put at a disadvantage (unless say the Ai is advanced like say an NPC such as Valtr who does really well in this fight) , as they would probably face the same fate as Ludwig the Accursed due to being put at constant aggression of swords , AoEs etc!
I didn't utilize the weak spot so I got my ass completely flattened before I grinded chalice dungeons and shit for like 5 hours to get better stuff
@@yamishika8616 on low level runs The Holy Blade is a fucking master. I always have an easier time and even no hit attempts with The Accursed, but when he gets his sword there's just so little room for error.

The fighters' attacks are properly aimed at each other. The simultaneous charging up to trade their biggest blows is so epic. Accursed jumping over that sweep.
Accursed acting like a feral beast.
But most of all...
Holy Blade displaying the resolve, composure, and strength of a man who was utterly broken, looked unimaginable horrors in the face, stared down his demons, and said "I am who I choose to be. You have no power over me".
I have never played BB myself, but Ludwig's transformation is one of the most powerful moments in all of gaming, and media in general.
And here ladies and gentleman we have the most epic thing in 2020

While Holy Blade seemed to be leading in damage, Accursed keep up throughout the battle with his sheer ferocity. Epic and intense throughout.
I like to think of this as Ludwig fighting his beastial side during our fight with him, and when we reach the point of the fight where he switches over is when he wins his interal struggle, and remember who he once was, now the the fight is no longer one between man and beast, but one between hunters!

Honestly expected the same, Accursed phase was also more difficult for me cause he'd keep dashing around and make aggressive attacks, as opposed to Holy Blade's standing still and swinging wide tactic
Accursed would do better against smaller opponents than Holy Blade because of its aggression, but against larger enemies who don’t flinch as often, Holy Blade has much better damage per hit.

I feel that Accursed Ludwig was handicapped here. He's without his ceiling, and that is a dangerous and painful move. I don't know that it would be a huge difference, but it would allow access to all of his moves.

Great quality! It's nice to be able to just sit from a distance and enjoy the gorgeous boss animations. Also a good choice of environment since you can see how big they are without having any part of them obscured.
I think his second phase is easier to predict his attack than the first phase. just don't don't get carried away thinking that you already won.
i like, with Rom's arena, it looks like Ludwig fighting his inner accursed self.

I just noticed something: all of their attack animations release blood. That must be because, in their original arena, they would kicking blood with their every move, so they just made it a part of their attacks.
Probably one of the most fun boss fights in the game.
First phase wasn’t as unpredictable for me as it seems for others, though. The jumps always put me on edge back when I played lol

Can you make regular enemies fight too or just bosses? If it's only bosses cool but if you can use other enemies the possibilities are endless
