That looks absolutely perfect!
Ahhh. Fresh, new, camping, gear. Yess. I'm still in love with my Jet Boil Flash, but one day I may try this type of stove
Awesome
Impressed🙂
Nice review!
Nice review. Thank you for sharing 👍
No worries, as always thank you for watching 👍
Nice review. Keep them coming 👍
Thanks Matt, will do 👍
Just got one myself mate excellent bit of kit ,good video by the way good effort 👏
Cheers John, they are class. I love it
A very well made film, short and straight to the point. Well done. Great stoves but as with everything lightweight and in such a niche market, expensive. Subscribed mate, ATB Jiffy 👍
Cheers Jiffy and thank you for sticking with me 🍀
Hi Jason hope you are keeping well mate. Nice little stove kit there. And nice to see you are becoming noticed by companies that want to send you items to review, we'll done mate 👍😊 You will be opening supermarkets next, very pleased for you. Look after yourself 😊👍
Their support is great for the channel but I will always be honest. I'm not sure I'll be getting a call to open any supermarkets 😄 Take care man 👍
Have to say, that brilliant. Having the mesh inside to burn the fuel is genius. I think the one thing I'd like to see is perhaps a type of lid with maybe some holes to give it like a gas burner ring feel and one you can adjust the flame. I love fuel burners but the flame control is the one thing I wish could be improved on them. However, this looks a decent piece of kit. Thanks Jason!
Yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea to be able to simmer with it.. I'm going to try out a different stove with it and see how it goes but it is a genius idea to have the felt in there
Seems like a good setup. Speedster stoves from the UK do something similar. I have one of their little stoves and it's great too.
Ah savage I'll check them out, Cheers Niall
I have them too with my Alpkit 600ml and its awesome, used it on my 140km walks and its very fuel efficient but this X Boil one is more compact and fits in pot much better! So a bit more compact, but costs 2x or 3x more from what I see lol that the biggest con. Cannot beat Speedster Stoves prices! Everything on his website is so cheap comparing to other wayyy overpriced companies.
I may get it one day, X Boil seems very cool.
Cannot go wrong with either of them.
Pretty cool kit. The "safety burner" felt is an advantage over a regular tangia style burner for knock overs. I wonder how the fuel efficiency would be for this versus a tangia type. Maybe @PaleoHikerMD can run some tests!
If anyone should test that it should be Paleo Hiker 🙌 I would imagine that the Trangia would be more fuel efficient but the safety burner has it's benefits. It's lighter weight, more packable and spill proof. Saying that you could add graphite felt to the trangia but would that affect it's performance? I'll give it a bash 😁
A brilliant Set up. I just got my one. Such a brilliant set up. Massive thanks for pointing me in the direction of the X-Boil. Exactly what I needed. Keep on trucking Jason.
No worries Martin 👍
Got very similar system. How do you go with a 2nd burn though. So say with a trangia with 50ml fuel in get several burns, but I found with this type, pour in 50ml boil away. But later when come to 2nd burn I need to top up fuel, all I can think is that it continues to evaporate after being blown out. Was going do a proper text to check it was not my imagination, but not done so yet. Anyone else found this.
The Trangia style stoves have the little jets running around the top which vaporizes the fuel and creates a more efficient burn. They're surface area is also reduced in comparison and they have the wick on the inner walls which soaks up fuel so there may be slightly more capacity than 50 ml.
I haven't had it out long enough to test it but I am hoping to use the Xboil with different stoves to try it out
I'm lookin4 a camping stove that's 1. Cheap.... 2. Lite......and 3. Hopefully small or foldupable....
What’s the purple stuff you’re using to fuel it please? Where do I buy it from
Methylated spirits. Any hardware store should have it. It’s usually used to clean paint brushes. Bio ethanol will work too. It burns even hotter and cleaner than the methylated spirits but is harder to find
Nice one, just to confirm, they send a alcohol storing bottle but not the alcohol itself? Total newbie when it comes to alcohol stoves but interested in trying out! I take it we need buy the alcohol in outdoor stores? thanks
Hey Ross, no the fuel is not supplied. You can pick it up in a hardware store. It will likely be in the painting section and its called methylated spirits. It's a purple liquid, I bought a 5 litre drum and it had lasted me a very long time but you can get 500ml bottles too. There is also Bio ethanol which burns cleaner but I found it very hard to get hold of. Just be careful, the spirits leave a sutty residue on the pot so it is just something to be aware of.
@@RamblingOn cheers Jason!
Nice setup compared to the trangia.
what are you using for your alcohol fuel?
The fuel I use is Methylated spirits and I usually store it in a 250ml Nalgene bottle
We'll don't lad were you in this wee Isle I'm up north
Thanks a mill, you could find me anywhere 😄 I'll be up the North myself soon enough 🤞
@RamblingOn sure give us a shout, try ballykinler beach if you like something like camping in war zone
Hi looking to order this xboil can u give a Web site, im having problems getting delivery to Ireland thanks.
www.x-boil.de/ should do the trick 👍
Scroll down in link in company site ....English language is underneath.....
Cheapest size seems €49.50.....but from Germany that doesn't include p+p....
Is there something wrong with you? I can see your other posts. You've no manners. This guy did a product review. He doesn't work for the company. Click the link and don't be lazy . 2 seconds and you have your answer. Madness
Ok so it's not too dear.. wish people would just say the price.....assuming your one is the €99 size?????
The price depends on the size required so I didn't see the need to go through each size and price individually. You seem to have it sussed, measure the diameter of your pot and that will tell you what size Xboil you need.
Good setup except garbage coffee in a garbage cup.
Considering that it's tea, it sure does make for some funky looking coffee 👍
@@RamblingOn regardless of what this white substance is, the silicone cup has an awful smell to it.
Price price price. .just say the price......PLEASE.....
The price depends on the size of stove that you require. My pot is just shy of 100mm in diameter so Xboil was the 90-100 and cost €49.50
