I bought Rectoverb head used in mint condition for $800.I run it through Mesa 212 Recto Cab with Vintage 30's. I boost it with Koko Boost by Suhr (clean and mid boost to the max on this unit),and then I feed it to Boss GE-7 Equalizer. I am getting some of the most incredible metal djent sounds imaginable,I do not thing there is anything better than that.I can play in extremely low volume level and still get excellent djent quality, no speaker flubbiness whatsoever.
Thanks for that. Glasgow is indeed a hub of great music and muso's. I was in a band up until 3 years ago, can't be bothered anymore and don't play that much now. I will get back into it sometime! And yes, I loved the 80's, that music is still in my blood.
Thanks. It was the modern mode, gain set about 1 o'clock (way too much in retrospect), presence, bass, mid, and treble all set around 1 o'clock as well. Also used the neck pick up, the EMG 85 for that warm tone the solo has.
Thanks. It's normally only the bigger stores that stock Mesa's - but at huge prices here in the UK compared to the USA. I got mine on ebay at nearly half the normal price and in perfect condition, so keep looking and you might get a bargain.
By the way, I hope your rockin out with a band. Your very talented. I spent time in Glasgow, and found many extremely talented muso's and great venues and live music. Miss the 80 shilling too
@TerrorBlade84 ,Yes!!! I bought THD Hotplate,but there is no need for it,plus it does change the tone even in setting on 0 attenuation,sold it very quickly.
Hi there Marek, I think it was a Killswitch Engage riff, I was listening to them a lot at that time. Can't remember the song, but it was one of the 'Howard' ones.
Brilliant demo's, I have my eye set on this amp (seems perfect for me) shame NOWHERE near me stocks this amp (nor alot of places in the U.K from what I can see) . . . then again I'm a fair bit off having the cash for this amp, just hoping a fairly priced one will pop up on ebay Keep Rockin' On :D
@fatgordon i did some looking around on that note, decided im getting the rectoverb instead, then in a year or 2 im going to trade it in towards a road king 212 :) i cant wait im using the iphone ampkit right now. btw, awesome demo and awesome playing!!!!. btw what song is at 4:00 and 5:10?
Just baught the head version of this amp, the cleans are amazing, however having issues getting a good metal sound... in this video are you plugged in direct?
@NYcibbyRyder If I had the money, I would have bought a Roadster - I say go for it. Mesa's are so expensive here in the UK but in the US, they are comparatively cheap
you're making me love this amp, except im looking at the price tag and thinking i should just save for the dual rec roadster, at 1600 for this the roadster is only 600 more... ohh decisions

Thanks, it's one of the best solos ever recorded in my view

Thanks - it is a great amp. When you turn it on and start playing, it really is hard to turn it off!

@InspiringWear It has 7 tubes - 5 12AX7's and 2 6L6's
Thanks Gordon for the great review! Mesa just sold another one.. to ME!
Thanks. I thought I could do it better as my bends were too slow, but thanks anyway. It's one of the best solos ever
@NYcibbyRyder At 4:00 it's Pantera 'A New Level" and at 5:10 it's 'Hells Bells' by AC/DC

Hey man please! What is the song you play in 2:08?? I have been literally obsessed with it for 2 years and haven't figured it out!

Killswitch Engage - My Curse. You're welcome!
Thanks for that. I love playing this amp

Comfortably Numb is my fav Floyd song. Nice job man!

I am, yes, no pedals
Thanks! If I could have afforded it, I would have got the head and cab too
Yes, I have heard that before
When I tried to use an attenuator, it took all the dynamics away from the amp.
