Someday a OEM will make a vehicle that is just a huge drivable grill.
70% of fuel burned is just heat, needs humongous dinosaur radiator.
I’m picturing Wiley Coyote behind a gigantic faux Grille chasing down RR
You mean the 2021 BMW M4?
@@StalePhish was about to say that 😂
Very detailed review by Sue. Keep up the great work. Sandy has great group.
Thanks so much!

Extremely well done review. Thank you. Keep her on camera. She's a natural.
I've never seen her before but she did great 👍
The moment I heard that they added engine noise enhancement to the audio, that did it for me. I switched off.
TuRd - my response to the title Q.
Thanks Sue for another detailed and informative review.
Kudos to Sue. She did her very best in describing what is basically a monstrous, ugly, expensive ICE pickup.
Yup a sorted clear mind 🫡
You forgot Stupid too. What a joke of a truck. But it will appeal to the juvenile mind set. Had to laugh when the best mpg was 16.2.
@@terrysullivan1992 the only stupid one here is you because it’s a useful truck unlike all the hideous teslas out there! How can a 1000hp tesla barely able to tow 5009lbs!? When a 200hp Toyota hilux alone goes almost the double of that!
Im sure as automobiles were starting to take over buggies, the buggies makers made some very luxury buggies. This truck screams, late-stage ICE.
@@terrysullivan1992 it will tow farther than 80 miles like an EV truck
I agree about that grille being ugly. Why are huge ugly front ends in fashion? I think all the cars and trucks with this styling theme will date and depreciate fast. Regardless of the other qualities of the vehicle.
I think it looked dated the minute I started seeing them. Especially with hybrids and EVs being the big thing, everyone knows its a style choice and its not even an attractive style choice.
The grill and face hood vents are a horror show, nearly are bad the the efficiency performance of their "hybrid" It should be renamed the steaming pile of Toy-yo-yo
Chrome grille turned up to 11 is usually what the American market wants. Maybe they over did it now.
I'm not a big Toyota fan, but if you remove the grill you will understand that huge size. It's an impressive cooling stack and I personally wish my Powerboost (and previous Ecoboost) had what looks like increased headroom for shedding heat.
What's a grill for again?
The Tundra hybrid shows how behind Toyota is with electrification. While Ford came out with a lithium based hybrid several years ago Toyota is still using 20-50 year old NiMH technology. Some might say it doesn’t make a difference but it does in many ways. It reduces payload due to extra weight of battery, it reduces hybrid performance, it prohibits a large inverter (best feature of PowerBoost is the 2.4kw and 7.2kw outlets). Finally it uses 3x the space and space is always critical in a truck.
Overall, the Tundra Hybrid is huge letdown. So many lost opportunities. The F150 PowerBoost hybrid is so much better in so many ways.
There should be a pure EV version of this and the Tacoma at least by bext year. The fact there isn't is poor. Otherwise I'm a fan of this vehicle. I also agree with you.
Except lithium ion doesn’t last as long in hybrids
Lithium Ion wouldn't last as long in a small battery hybrid. Toyota is working towards "solid state batteries" whatever that means. You know how Toyota is, they want their vehicles to outlast the competition at the expense of the newest technology.
@@thomas735 @Avery lithium is used in most if not all European hybrids though, including the current Prius.
Toyota isn’t behind with electrification you 🤡!!!! The proof they have already sold well over 20 million hybrids over the years and it works.
I used to be a Yota or nothing person, I had been waiting since 2014 for a "real" new tundra and when they announced the specs for the 2022 Tundra I took my Truck money and bought a Model Y while I wait for my CT or lightning reservsations to come up. Toyota isn't in the same universe anymore
😥 my 17-year-old Toyota is the end of an era. I know Toyota is focused on hydrogen, but I feel they may have misread the market.
@@williewalker8048 I really believed they were going to have a Plug-in hybrid Tundra with 50 miles plug in range. I could have lived with the still bad gas mileage on long trips or towing . But it never happened. I never cared for the direction the tundra took under Sweers.
No truer words brother 🍺😎
Toyota seems to have lost its light truck mojo. The mid 1990s Tacoma ,and in other lands Hilux, are unstoppable off-road, simple, easy to repair, but exceeding plain, little trucks that are very durable. I had the misfortune of buying a 2005 Tacoma which is was the beginning of the end for Toyota. My Tacoma is still on the road and the sheet metal still looks great, and the engine purrs. Unfortunately the horrible frame rust, buggy electric transfer case, broken leaf springs, bad A/C compressor, etc. are very un-Toyota. Toyota made good by doing a customer satisfaction service action (not recall) of replacing the entire inexcusably rotted out frame in 2016, but that is a Band-aid fix to a poor execution. I have to admit to not shopping Toyota lately, but it used to be possible to to order a fairly de-contented model without over the top cushy features for use as practical truck. This pearl-white beast is something a working person would not touch with a 12 foot 2x4 stud.
@@matthewrideout2677 I put a hitch on the MY , its only rated for 3500 pounds but still good enough for a small boat
Yay, Sue's back! 😁👍
Toyota will be on life support in less than 5 years. Akio is a Luddite, he’s tanking the company and the Japanese auto industry as a result. Don’t say I didn’t tell you.
Yes Eiji would turn in his grave if he new what they did with his company. Have a Toyota Aristo v300 from 2000 been running 500whp for 60k km no problem No rattle car is like new. My grandfather had a rx450 2016 and the amout the build quality has dropped in 16 years is outstanding. Amazing how they came out with a car like the Toyota soarer uzz32 in 1990 and now their cars are all POS, sad to see....
Lol you are so wrong.
I couldn’t agree more. Toyota is in deep trouble.
I don't think there is a car company that has a higher market share than Toyota does currently, and I don't think there is a company with more battery development, patents, spending than Toyota. If Toyota is anything, it may be too analytical. EVs don't have to make sense for people to want to buy one, they just have to want to buy one. Perhaps Toyota missed the mark on this at first, but it is more likely with deep pockets, large manufacturing footprint and a track record of being able to course correct that this absence from EVs is a blip for Toyota. Who knows, EVs may run their course sooner than you think too.
@@ytj22 Atleast here in Finland I do not know any people that would buy anything other than an Ev next they change cars. This far one friend changed His w212 e220d to a model S 90d . Myself I change our rx450h from 2009 to a Mazda mx30. Everyone is going ev over here. Also Toyota has more debt than any other car company.
I'm too poor to afford Toyota, I guess I will have to keep slumming it with my Tesla.
My 5.5k 15 year old Honda Accord is great 👍 haha
I agree with you. Still driving my 18 year old Toyota Camry. Solid as a tank with over 400,000 kms. Teslas will sadly never see this mileage or longevity and will be like cell phones - disposable after 5 years.
Interesting: Toyota apes the Honda IMA hybrid system here… but instead of downsizing the engine and effectively using the IMA as an electric turbo, Toyota leaves in a huge fuel guzzling engine. You can bet the soccer mom kid drop-off and grocery getter duty this truck is going to be doing for 90% of it life, it’ll be getting that inexcusable 16 MPG. Let’s get 21st century Toyota!
It’s not a guzzling vehicle and the electric motors seriously helps for all the driving dynamics plus it’s a plus for overlanding/off-road and Diesel engines offers better fuel economy if that’s what you want.
16 is inexcusable for the 21 century!! You’re joking right!! Can you make a better product!?
@@carholic-sz3qv 16 MPG is what Sue said she got in real world driving even though the truck is rated 19 city. She speculated the poor mileage was because the truck had only 1,000 miles of use. Maybe if it were 1930, but a modern engine isn’t going to be 16% less efficient just because it is relatively new.
@@carholic-sz3qv I'm with you. These hybrids don't do as well in the real world as claimed. Waste of time. Hybrids have a short lifespan now.
@@monkeysezbegood How do you mean short? As in before evs?
Hybrid that gets 16 mpg for 77k in 2022. Toyota is in more trouble than I had realized.

Amazing walk-around. Thank you Sue!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm terrified by size of this kind of wehicles. Most people driving this would be passing by me, walking, too fast. And they would have this car because they feel more secure in it, but they are at the same time insecure in every way. And when I imagine how many drivers are not aware of vehicle size, and can't turn properly, not to mention reverse ANY vehicle!!! Iean I would tax them by volume and size and mass of the vehicle.
Thank you, another star in the house.
in 2022, Chrome & piano black is OUTDATED.

Another expert walk-round from Munro - much appreciated...
Hmmmm a twin turbo v6 hybrid getting 16.2 MPG in very conservative driving? TURD. I've never been a fan of hybrids since you can remove the engine entirely, so maybe I'm biased on that front. Thanks for the review Sue and team! Great stuff
Our 2005 Hummer H2 gets 15 mpg on the highway!
Yeah bro. Crazy how they say the V6 hybrid is for the economy but it gets the same exact fuel economy as our 12 year old V8 ford. Now you've got less reliable parts that cost more to repair over the years and all for basically no noticable advantage in any way that matters. It's like +.5 points for fuel economy but -25 points for long term reliability. It's a pretty truck at least. It's easy on the eyes 😂
Toyota badge? > Yes = Turd
A decade ago was when this should have been introduced.
An excellent appraisal of what is essentially an obsolete vehicle and technology. Though Toyota keeps pushing it to their eventual disruption if they don't change. Global transport needs a modern Toyota company that drops their obsession with Hybrids and eventual H2, and it most certainly doesn't need this.
If not hybrid, how do you suggest Toyota power a 5000lb vehicle towing a 7000lb trailer? Remember, this vehicle won't be towing a 7000lb trailer most of the time, but it needs to be able to at long distances. Let me guess, batteries, right?
@@ytj22 F-150 Lightning can do it. Rivian R1T can do it. Cybertruck will be able to do it. And they won't be towing a trailer most of the time either.
@@ramblerandy2397 with a significant penalty to range, cost, weight, time. You enjoy your EVs, I get it, and it is exciting that people have the option to choose from so many different propulsion systems, including EV. But that doesn't mean it makes sense for everyone or even most people.
EV trucks will never take over anytime soon. Can you imagine using heavy duty construction machines running on EV power alone or perhaps aircraft? Gimme a break. We are a long way off from any of this. Toyota is waiting but working behind the scenes. Tesla, Rivian etc .. will all be footnotes in the auto industry in the future.
hehe - Good Morning!
You brought up some Great points Sue.. Nice review thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Went in to buy a Tundra and was stunned to find the steering wheel offset to the side twisting your shoulders and back, super narrow gap to look through with very high hood and massive blind spots. Saving my money and looking at alternatives …..
This is why they make chocolate and vanilla.
You love this vehicle and I hate it.
The fake air scoops on the hood, reminds me of tail fins.
The instrument panel is full of bobbles, bangles and beads.
Thank you for the review. 👍🇺🇸
Careful ECO driving leads to 16mpg? ... nuff said.
It's just never gonna change :) Americans will just drive around in these giant gas guzzlers forever until the last drop of oil. 16 MPG that's pretty horrible for a new vehicle. I'm in Europe and the direction everything is going is just the complete opposite.
But I love American cars :) I actually only have American cars. Model S for a daily driver and a Challenger Hellcat whit a manual just for fun (One of the last real muscle cars I belive) Also have a Crown Victoria unmarked police car and a supercharged Mercury Marauder, love those cars. I think the Crown Vic gets about the same gas mileage as this new Tundra Hybrid anyway :)
Man, for a hybrid that MPG is quite underwhelming. Same mpg city as my old GMC Sierra with the V8
A very bad hybrid. Basically a transmission-assist for better acceleration and to handle the normal acceleration of stop and go driving - so that probably helps in meeting emissions requirements. Over all, the tiny battery in a big truck makes me think this is to meet some sort of goal for having a percentage of the fleet as hybrids to meet some sort of government regulations or tax break qualifications. A total B.S. move by Toyota, this is *not* what the those programs are meant to achieve.
There are two kinds of hybrids performance and economical ones you’re welcome!!
@@donjones4719 lol….. et can’t you make the perfect hybrid!? I’m waiting!!!
@@carholic-sz3qv I can't make a perfect one, but lots better than this are made by others.
I get 24 mpg combined on my ecoboost F150
I can't wait for the Cybertruck to come out so that we can start comparing "work" trucks" versus all of these chrome and sheet metal monsters which have all kinds of power but everyone is afraid of getting it scratched. Trucks like the HummerEV and the Rivian are nice but I really wonder if owners are going to take them cross-country to a campsite or a hunting spot.
So you going to wait a long more time. There's a thing called "Energy density", and BEV truck still can't beat a Diesel engine in efficiency.
Stop talking nonsense!!!! People are already modifying this same Toyota Tundra for overlanding it gives way better range and with jerrycans or auxiliary fuel tank it goes even further than your hideous tesla will ever dream of!
The hummer EV is just an edge ration of car like it has always been just for the show and excessivness! The rivian just like other EVs doesn’t compare with ICE when it comes to real work trucks!
@@RogerM88 diesel is and will remain king of the road doesn’t matter how batteries evolves! I see people that are still using 30 years old Toyota hilux all around the world, those things are way more useful than ugly teslas
Good points. Would have preferred a review of the base model truck that’s actually in a realistic price range. Cybertruck may come to rule them all but it’s a bit early to tell. I’ll keep babying my Chevy 2500 with 300k miles until CT gets here. Can’t wait to scratch it up 😊
Tough competition in the ugly grille business
That’s what she said lol…..
11:00 that's why Toyota charges the big bucks for the Capstone with those white seats. I mean extra glare doesn't come cheap.😂
Nice to see Sue back!
My 99 V8 and 17 V8 both did around 4 mpg better in city than this "hybrid"
Our 12 year old v8 f150 I'm pretty sure averages about the same fuel economy. Plus their is no turbos or hybrid system to maintain when it hits 12 years old like ours has
Great review... well done.
Thanks
Totally agree with everything you said Sue. My honest first impression when I saw this was "It looks like an F-150" and I was glad to hear you say the same. Probably the last thing I expected from Toyota as far as looks and size. The grille is down-right atrocious. Paint looks great but defenitly not a work truck especially with that white interior. When I saw the interior I just though, "Oh, it's like an F-150 and an Escalade had a baby."
Like the short summary overview. Ridiculous 16.2 mpg. - I bought my 2010 Prius hybrid to save money commuting to and from an intel agency, 74 miles round trip. Achieved 49.5 mpg for 2-1/2 years!
You compare this to a Prius!? Are you stupid or what!? The Prius is not in the same class at all!
Every time I see TRD I can only think… who does their marketing?
Great job Sue!!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Smart lady! Love your explanations! And kudos to pronouncing the word damping correctly :-) keep up the good work
The wheel wells look like someone on the assembly line forgot to install the wheel well trim pieces to hide those exposed screw heads.
Toyota already makes fantastic trucks and always have. If they brought their mighty Hilux here to US shores, it would give Ford and Dodge nightmares. Toyota trucks are used the world over whereas Ford only sells well in its own backyard.
It's obvious that with fuel consumption of 16mpg, Toyota care little about the damage to the environment or people's health from the tailpipe emissions. The sooner this company go out of business the better.
Lol, cute. You don't follow battery production and after-life very closely, do you? If you think you are helping the environment by doing anything but walking, then you are naive. But I'd bet you are more interested in agenda than environment.
Thank you for this information 🎈
Nice review. I agree with your comments on the trim and color selection. White and gloss black will always show dirt and smudges quickly.
The I-force "MAX" is the hybrid system label. The gas only trucks are just "I-force". I would imagine the big ugly grille is more function over form given the monstrous heat dissipation requirements for a truck that can tow over 11,000 lbs with two turbos and hybrid system.
9:20 That touchscreen should have more rounded corners. Otherwise, not bad.
Sue is a star. Loves that job.
Beautiful truck!
It's pretty. Pretty expensive too
I like the way Sue explains things.
For $90 large, the truck should be perfect.
Suprising no truck makers have ever tried doing a piano black bed liner. That would be the sight!
The perfect truck for going to Whole Foods, LuLu Lemon and Starbucks. These will never tow nor go off road. Total poseur mobile.
Toyota makes the most reliable vehicles .When the competitors proves theirs, which will not happen, I may switch.I have never been dissatisfied with a Toyota purchase.I have driven other vehicles and they all have permanent issues.
From .y experience, I would agree with you.
Maybe show Sue the pinch to zoom in any Tesla. Her appreciation for that terribly laggy map will go away in no time…
"While Americans can’t seem to get enough of the mid-size pickups from Japanese automakers, they absolutely shun their full-size trucks. According to data from WardsIntelligence, the highest market share Toyota has seen with Tundra was 9.1% and that was in 2007. It currently hovers in the 5% range. It’s even worse for Nissan. The best the Titan was able to muster was 3.5% of the market in 2005. Today it’s at 1.5%. With the Detroit Three commanding 94% of full-size pickup sales this year, it might almost make more sense for Toyota and Nissan to share a large truck platform." Autoline
Gotta be honest, I'm not a dodge fan or a Chevy fan, and I think Ford is lacking these days too, but they're still better than this particular generation of tundra if you ask me. Is too hard for Toyota to compete against the American trucks. You can get a Ford of any kind practically. Gas, electric, big engine, small engine, you name it. Toyota can't compete. Toyota has excellent cars and SUVs sure, love em, but they're good enough at those that others struggle to compete. It's hard to compete with a Toyota Corolla. Honda pulls it off but no one else really does. Toyota also struggles to compete with performance cars. Ford and dodge kick their butts. Toyota ends up partnering with entirely different companies, selling their cars rebranded. It's not a good look if you ask me. Toyota becomes known as a rebadged BMW and Subaru rather than a real Toyota. But that's just their performance vehicles. Their commuter cars are dominant and makes them tons of money. The Corolla and Camry are nearly unbeatable in their particular segments. It's nice the tundra is assembled in USA though. Ford Maverick made in Mexico
@@TheAnnoyingBoss the Tacoma based off the same platform will assembled in Mexico too. I see 25% of Enterprise lot being RAV4's . But know with rental companies push EV's and ordering new ones Toyota is going to be hurting unless they ship Toyota badge BYD from China. Plus everyone else is investing in mineral mining, electric motor, and battery production. Also converting thier existing plants to EV production. The Japanese are no where to be found in the BEV realm today.
@@normt430 well all these compnaies trying to switch to all electric are about to go bottoms up because electric cars cost more and are less efficient for driving. So I wouldn't be so quick to assume all their hard work won't be in vein, because it will be.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss the actual cost produce a BEV is 25-30% less than ICE. GM alone will go from 490 engine and transmission combinations to just 19 when the EV dust settles.
Stunning at 16mpg, exactly how Elon would have designed it.
So much efficiency from this hybrid 😂😂😂 so so much efficiency. Now you get to replace the battery after ten, fifteen years. All for no meaningful difference in fuel economy. But you can bet it costs a fortune to maintain. You'll need new turbos and a new battery at 150k miles. All for better fuel economy that it doesn't actually get. Makes no sense to me
I wonder why Toyota doesn't sell the HiLux and LandCruiser 70 Series in the USA?
Idk man idk. I'd love the old 70 series. Esspecially if they had the diesel at competitive prices
Good review and this truck would be a maintenance nightmare. Turd…No Bueno 🥱

How does ride compare to Ram 1500 higher end trucks? Those have great ride and handle like a car.
That’s a face only a mother could love..
It doesn't look bad nessessarily if you ask me. It's a very attractive truck, but sadly to me I think that's about all it's got going for it
That bottle holder in the door looks quite shallow. I'm pretty sure a standard 500ml bottle will fly out of there when you close the door

Toyota products are fast becoming TuRD, their stylists think that huge cowcatcher grills will catch customers.🤣
I love the grille
Great job Sue! One of the best reviews I've seen.
So TuRD :) And very expensive one :D
Like the big screen and tailgate. What does the basic truck do different? Hate the fanciness and oversized front end. Feel they are trying to catchup but still behind.
Does it still come with an Eaton frame that rusts if you breath on it?
Arranging for surfaces that don't show dirt is a fool's errand. You WANT to see the dirt. What you want is surfaces that can be cleaned, many times, without getting degraded and worn.
They have anti glare screen protectors. I had one on a glass screen laptop I had once. It's basically a matte screen protector
Sorry to say this but this review is really lacking. Pinch to zoom? It’s been available in Teslas 10 years ago! And hybrid not meant for efficiency- this Tundra hybrid is such a let down compared to F150 PowerBoost. Lacks high power outlets, less storage, crappy fuel economy - most of this because Toyota chose a 20+ year old NiMH tech vs Ford that chose to use lithium.
Very Nice Demo! Lovely, Toyota the KING of Hybrid
Toyota is the king of hybrids but I think their truck falls short compared to the Ford hybrid. Toyota has good hybrid cars and SUV though.
At 10:40, did I understand correctly that the audio system adds tones to the exhaust?
I have had a 22 TRD Pro for 4000 miles now. The MPG is not great on it. I get 15.5 mixed
Fwiw My 08 Silvy w small V8 gets 26mpg,with loaded camper on.
Can you get it in a Home Depot parking space on the first try ? Second, third, fourth try ?
This will fit in a home Depot space. But not a target space. My local target has mom van sized parking spaces. Trucks struggle
from Brasil (z) , Muito bom = Very good. Great Sue , like your perspective over the theme. Awesome , You Rock
It would be difficult to make this truck profitably. ( The real point of making it !) Two power trains, maintenance issues of ICE, wieght issues of battery.
It's just so lacking in functionality compared to other pick-ups, specially in the tailgate and bed area and you also mentioned the screen glare is horrible?
I think a Ford V8 is more reliable now, and gets basically the same fuel economy
What is the point of the hybrid if it's no more economical than a V8? Extra layers of complexity and probably future issues for what?
Agree. That grill looks aggressive. Not attractive or friendly.
Pearlescent white mica metallic
I bought the Powerboost Platinum instead. It's better in every way

Hybrids no longer make any sense. There is absolutely no reason not to go all electric. This is merely a ploy by the OEMs to keep selling their gas cars by throwing in a very small battery. Unfortunately they only know how to make gas cars and are having a hard time making the transition to EVs. If this were not the case why not just make EVs which are in high demand.
I don't understand the point of Hybrids. You don't get the full benefits of totally electric, with all of the downsides of ICE.
3x the range, lower price, and ability to tow long distance to name a few…
@@thomas735 Then just by the ICE version. The only thing you gain with the Hybrid is reduced emissions with the penalty of battery and electric motor weight.
@@DaveTimperley I know someone with this exact truck, it doesn’t get 16mpg. Idk where they got that figure from but it isn’t right. They actually get around 21-22 combined. It does beg the the question though because the gas one does get about 20.
I just saw a cutaway of this thing and the battery is tiny. It looks like you get all the complexity of a turbo ICE with the extra complexity of the battery 'turbo assist' including it's own little extra radiator?
No possibility of torque vectoring, running it 'battery only' looks almost pointless. No one foot driving. You actually loose a bit of under seat storage in the back. No possibility of a frunk. Doesn't look like it has the ability to support power points to run external gear or your house.
I'm willing to admit that I might have overlooked the USP of this vehicle????
After years and years of new interiors coming out and the obvious flaws, you wonder why interior designers don't have a checklist of things that are must-haves and things to avoid. Even the Tesla Model 3 came out with piano black center consoles at first. White door handles on a work truck? Seriously? The interior design teams need to have a mommy (not just a woman) on them to go over the interior design plans.
No one buying a capstone is using it as work truck. You can get many of the same features in an SR5 or get a hybrid limited, both for a lot less money. Maybe the company boss that never gets his hands dirty is the target market along with suburban status markers.
Good review but I disagree about the screen. Pinch to zoom isn't new and from here the screen seemed laggy.
why do they build pickups with such brick-shaped fronts? That's got to push a lot of air out of the way.
Upper seats in white safe? Ive seen my clothes after ive been sweating in them... and the upper parts definitely are not safe. And I just imagine stains from hair products as well. And EVERYONE grabs the upper part of the seat in front of them when they climb into a back seat, its why some cars have hand holds on the seat backs. I dont understand these white interiors at all. Especially on something that is supposedly a "work" vehicle. 🤣
I do agree with Sue about that grill. What a monstrosity. These overcompensation grills appearing on everything during the hybrid and electric transition just feels like desperation. Fake exhaust sounds reinforce that. This is a truck with a serious inferiority complex. I cant understand all of these apologies. Design and build your vehicles to their strengths, stop apologizing for perceived weaknesses, it just highlights them. Toyota just seems terrified of the future. And a new hybrid system that doesnt even get 20mpg and only works in parkinglots highlights that.
If this interior becomes the new Toyota interior, I will start considering Toyota 4Runners again.
Ford has the 7.2kw generator option on their hybrid. The lack of such a feature on the Toyota is a total head scratcher. They've got the electric motor to generate the power, so why not take advantage? Toyota way behind as usual.
Japan was panicked about energy independence long before the rest of us. Their plan is to shift to a hydrogen economy, as they have a lot of hydrogen yielding minerals in the ocean around japan. Toyota is fully committed to that strategy. This the reason why Toyota and other Japanese co. are out of step with everyone else. Japan needs hydrogen EVs not BEVs.
