And here we go. This is the first track for my next project, the follow-up to my first N64 Medleys project. I felt it only right, that because I started the last one with Goldeneye, that I start the second one with Perfect Dark. The music from the game didn't stick with me quite as much as Goldeneye, but after listening to the songs again, I immediately re-fell in love with the game and it's soundtrack. So I've got a new line up for this next run, and I'm sure a lot of you guys will be pleased with the new games I'm going to be arranging into medleys.
You may notice an increase in audio quality from my previous covers. I recently got a new program that makes mastering a bit more professional, so this is the cover that I first got to play around with it! Let me know what you guys think of the tones and decisions on the EQing. I wanted this one to focus more on the treble because I feel like my previous covers have been very full of mids and the like. However this is the first time I've really used it, so I'd love some constructive criticism!
So with that said, I'll see you guys next Tuesday for the next game on the list! Hope you like them!

I'm about 11 years late to the party, but if you see this, this was some awesome work. Perfect Dark is the game I got for christmas because my parents couldn't find Goldeneye for the life of them. It's one of the happiest compromises because in my eyes, it's Goldeneye taken to the next level. The soundtrack is practically engraved in my brain from countless hours of play. Listening to this brings me back to being a teen again. Solid work, man.
There was supposed to be a sequel to Golden Eye, but the developers lost the rights to make Bond games so they created Perfect Dark. It is a highly underrated game, definitely kicks Golden Eye up to the next level, and in my opinion is a far superior game. It is the best game on N64 and quite possibly my favorite game of all times. I got it when it was new and it blew my mind. It was the first game to animate the reload sequences.
This was my favorite game growing up.
If there is one game that I could play before I died, it would be Perfect Dark. Hands down my favorite game. Nice cover by the way.
It's on Xbox one
Same. I wish a sequel that would do the first one justice was possible. IMO Zero was a horrible sequel and possibly killed the entire spy FPS sub-genre.
@@alexbyrne184 if it has modernized graphics and game play, it would almost cause me to buy an Xbox One.
@@freezor80 - Rumor has it that either The Coalition or The Initiative (or both) are working on Perfect Dark 2.
@@davidromano7117 It's happening! They claimed it has "fast paced gameplay" so let's hope it's the henchmen murder simulator we all know and love.
Hey don't listen to those haters, THIS IS GREAT. True fans will appreciate this
Perfect Dark has such an underrated soundtrack. Glad to see some love for it.
Serious I like it better than goldeneye
Because Pelagic is my favorite song from the game. :)
Perfect Dark has always had a special place in my heart.. And this just made me want to fire it up again. Great work as always, Jules!
This soundtrack deserves this kind of metal treatment. So awesome!
Playing this game without an Expansion Pack made my soul bleed...
At least you could set up bots lol. God I miss this game
This game is my all time favorite game. I still have a working N64 and at 39 years old, I still play this game, not often though. But when I do it is for a couple hours at a time. The medley you have done is epic. I really enjoyed it.
Perfect dark is back
All these videos have taken me back. Nice job man.
I don't care that the guitar tone isn't that great, or that the transitions sometimes don't line up. What matters is you had the focus and insight to do this video, and for that, I thank you.
@Killer8494 The Pod goes to both the Mixer and my computer. I use the mixer as a monitor when recording.
You couldn't have chosen a better game to cover in my opinion. Perfect Dark was by far my favorite N64 game. THIS IS AWESOME
I still don't understand why this doesn't have more views
@apocalypsesoldier72 I don't but when I do tutorials again, I'll take your request into consideration. :)
I just got chills down my spine, beautiful. This is my favourite game and you just rocked it, thank you. :)
Liked, Favourited, seriously one of my favourite games growing up! To here this theme turned into utter badassness brings a bloody metal tear to my eye! CONGRATS ON BEING THE MOST KICKASS DUDE ON UA-cam!
this is awesome man. Really brings back memories! Well done
One of my favorite games! Awesome job and thank you, hun!
Amazing sound!! Just found this while searching for guitar tabs. Genius music
Love the harmony in your Chicago Stealth bit. Excellent
The bass at 2:25 is awesome.
amazing work again jules, youre my youtube hero!!!! :D
Please perform a medley of the following Perfect Dark themes...
The Carrington Institute Defense, the G5 Reconnaissance, the Skedar Ruins Battle Shrine, and the End Credits!!!
Definitely adding the various Datadyne themes, and Area 51s (I like Infiltration most, but Rescue would probably work best for a metal cover)
Always enjoy your stuff but how on earth did I not even spot this video for 12 years? Brilliant cover!
@Killer8494 Everything I use is in the description. I use Mixcraft to mix and my Pod X3 to record. :)
mi juego favorito que recuerdo tan nostálgico
Luis GA XD X2 =]
Luis GA XD y hasta la fecha sigo jugandolo y además ya conseguí el título Perfect:1 ;-)
I was hoping someone would make this. Much props!
gonna make a cd with your songs... amazing man... seriously, thanks
FUCK YEAH!!!! Dude that was fucking epic!!!!! Awesome job on Pelagic II that was just OMG, gave me goosebumps. Well done mate, well done indeed.
Sounds fuckin amazing mate, another track to play while driving around the city. Keep up the good work.
amazing... all i can say. you keep playin' and i'll keep watchin' your guitaring has inspired my own playing to new levels
sick dude, well done.
This is incredible. Madly epic talent!
I remember when I suggested this...And it was worth the wait =o Greatttttt covers man.
@Killer8494 I'm not sure how much the mixer was, probably under 100, but the Pod was costly. You don't need a mixer with a ton of channels, so you could even go with a 4 channel mixer. Which are much cheaper obviously.
Ten years ... gosh .. I listening this video something like 1000 or 2000 times (probably more)... i don't know...
I'm working a solo on your Carrington Institute since... maybe 7/8 years ago. Maybe one day I will record this and send to you.
Incredible how fast the time passed.
Big up and kiss to you!
I like the new equipment! Sounds better, I mean I can actually tell a difference. I like how you made the treble more clear and fuller on this one. Your covers sound a bit better that way. :)
all i gotta say is pure genius, im glad i subscribed.
NICE! Loving it! memories man!
This is great man! I was literally playing Perfect Dark 64 today!
EPIC! XD love the music choice man!
What a way to start the day. Wake up, see a Jules upload. Life's good man. Thanks Jules for making Tuesday's rock! \m/ As for the cover, I never played Perfect Dark but it sounds kick ass nonetheless. I look forward to your new project.
sick channel sick covers keep it up man
Awesome medley of that rare gem, a bonus point for Pelagic II Exploration, my fav from this soundtrack =3
love 2:28 lol I got this game at 11 in 2000 :D was great multiplayer, I still play it to this day
My childhood in a song... an awesome work! Keep going!
Wow...this is great
I officially now love you! Brilliant medley! makes me wanna pullmy guitar off the wall and jam along!
Brought here by Dragoness_ from Twitch. Instant sub to you, instant follow for her! xD I love this game, and this remix is just .... mind-blowingly awesome
AWESOME!
I didn't expected to find Perfect Dark here xD
This is freaking awesome. Most kids had Goldeneye but I had Perfect Dark so this is a huuuuge nostalgia trip for me.
@SeppukuGoth Lo sentimos hombre, me entero de todas las partes de guitarra por el oído. Puedo hacer videos cada semana, así que no hay tiempo para hacer las tabs. Lo siento. :(
OOOOH SNAP THE MEMORYS ARE FLOWING RIGHT BACK!
All i can say is this was amazing, so many good memories
I remember playing this game so much as a kid. The campaign was very fun. They were definitely ahead of their time as far as gimmicky weapons go. I loved messing with the secondary firing modes. It’s safe to say I broke a friendship with the proximity mine mode of the dragon.
I’d argue that PD was better than Goldeneye. They were both great, but PD had a lot more quality of life improvements. That and I didn’t have a whole lot of friends who hung out with me, so I played the combat simulator a lot instead of split screen on Goldeneye. But still, this game blew my 9 year old mind!
All the memories from this
The best N64 Music I know!
I enjoy 2CD OST of Perfect Dark and it IS dark!!!
How is that very first sound at the start of the video made? it's all of this detail you put into these covers that seriously blow my mind.
Just realized Chicago Stealth sounds like it'd do well in a Death Note episode.
Slapa da Bass! i like it man, sweet bass track, and guitar of course.
Yeah. Pretty good.
Good that Perfect Dark still lives with people. Best game ever.
Really good man ^^
amazing lol I still need to beat this game, but this has to be my favorite of all your stuff. Keep up the amazing work. \m/
lol I just beat it again like the other day
i got goosebumps... idk what is was about this game but i love it
That is sick.
This is probably my favorite video of yours. I'd love to hear more Perfect Dark songs remixed if you ever feel up for it. :)
Thie is why I love UA-cam
Probably the best video in the history of youtube.
i like the prince of percia poster in the background :D
but your music covers are the best *___* freakin awesome!!!
Awesome video.
awesome!
damn this is FUCKING AMAZING keep up the good work
muy buen video!!
@CBreakingGames Yes. I use Windows to do these covers. Mixcraft is very easy to get a handle of, and I'm non too fond of Apple. I just like their phones. :p (The macbook in my room is a work machine... not my choice.) So yes, Mixcraft is on Windows. :)
Man. How does this not have more views.
I get chills when I hear carrington institute start up. That bass line dude...
@nelyupt I use a Pod X3 to get a clean guitar sound and mix them together using Mixcraft. :)
Fuggin'... Pelagic II-- such a great song.
Maybe you've been told that before but aside the music, which obv is great!! ( playing PD right now haha :3 ) i noticed that underworld poster on your wall :3 nice set of movies you got there! Keep it up hehe! That Pelagic2 theme tho
Love that you did Chicago
Omfg my fav game nd u jus wow man jus amazing!!!!!
holy balls this is good, love it!!!
This was awesome! Fantastic job. My only critique (And I get that this is 10 years old) is that there was no Air Base X. I used to jam to that song in the Skedar ruins while destroying my buddies and their DarkSim teammates.
Cool man!!!
@Drumada I wholeheartedly second this! That would be...o_o amazing...
that main menu theme was so great
@Killer8494 Yeah you could. That's how I used to do recording.
freakin awesome :D , i used some as background on a preview vid of a retro game im building refered the track it to you with a link, hope you dont mind ( if so let me know !)
Anways awesome work man ! keep on rockin
you are the best !
My mind has been blown
OMG that was legendary, your great man almost as good as the actual game music
u rocks!! made if u can a other medley of this perfect game!
I've watched this 100 time... good shit
Along with the 4 Perfect Dark themes mentioned in my previous comment, would love to hear the Carrington Villa and the Alaskan Air Base!
SICK A7X SHIRT!
fuck yeah!!! loved it! long live perfect dark !
DataDyne Infiltration, Crash Site Confrontation and Airbase Espionage just needed to be there along with Carrington and Pelagic II. Great playing nonetheless. I hope someday you consider making another medley of this great game with the remaining songs that deserve to be played.
