- I usually don't use the live view a whole lot but I wanted to try something out.
If you put looping midi-clips of different lengths on different tracks you can get some really nice polymeters!
The bassline also changes notes every bar and randomly adds a few variation notes at the end of every bar to make the transition to the next note sound more natural.
This is the most virtual riot title ever
Lol you’re so right
People have nightmares about AI, AI has nightmares about VR
1000% would watch you do this for an hour live on stage. Call it a creative listening experience
Modern day Jean-Michel Jarre
It's live-view though, not live-creation. Pretty sure the entire track was made beforehand? Looks like it unless I'm missing something. Still slaps though
@@juanjo_sound you're right but he's still constantly editing parameters and it could still be a fun live performance
@@juanjo_soundI’ve prepared the drum loops, the samples and the bass sound but the drum-loop changes with random fills, the bass line is progressively picking new notes on its own and I start/stop parts and change parameters on the polymeter sample group :)
@@VirtualRiot youre a legend bro
gonna name my kid live-view polymeter liquid dnb jam with generative bassline
honestly love the look of ableton with bloom
was just thinking that, gonna have to figure out how to make it permanent pre processing
I was just thinking
G L O W
What program do you use to get that filter effect?
@@2024style prolly some video editing software like premiere pro, after Effects or davinci resolve
Love the glow on the screen
How does he do that?
@@danielgeorge7075 Deep Glow AE plugin
@@klipnitytbh I made it manually in premiere 😅
@@VirtualRiot I got so excited for a sec there, thinking it was some third party addon that I could toss on ableton :(
@@BrakenMusic you could probably use reshade for this, although i've never tried it myself
the way you put "wanted to try something out" in the description implies you were just going about your day and thought of this entire setup
Well, yes 😅 that’s exactly what happened
@@VirtualRiot Only you can follow a whim and casually make a masterpiece
I love the little shifting of the vocals and the stereo positioning of elements in this ! 💜💯👌✨️👽🔥
bro it tied together so nicely when the bass came in that i almost came too
yo wtf 😂
this needs to be a full release
Bro you've gotta integrate stuff like this into your sets, this is ableton at its fullest potential.
Blown away by how clean the bass sounds
Yeah that bass was so smooth… even through iPhone speakers
bloom coming in in ableton 13
honestly I hope so, it’s not like the GPU does much when making music anyway so idk why daws aren’t updated to look prettier
This man has more talent than most musicians. He's incredible.
this feels like a bonus level in tetris effect
Ok but can we talk about how beautiful the ableton looks with that shine?
ya half step is such a great polyrhythm
Im listening to this over and over, even if it's not even a "real" song lol
you really choose great spots to introduce the bass, cut the hats, cut the kick. really was a very great listening experience and fun to watch you work as always!
i love this sound so much! thank you for sharing
we need this deep glow as an actual live theme
if you made a 1 hour long randomly generated beat like this I would watch the whole thing without getting bored
nedward spotted
Mans just dropped the most fire liquid dnb track entirely live and thought we wouldn't notice.
I didn't think there would be liquid that I actually enjoy, but here we are 👏🏼
Dude sure lives up to his name , jumps right into the virtual world and starts a proper audio riot 🤘
I love the sounds🔥🔥🔥
It's been well over 3 minutes and i can't stop nodding my head.
That's actually really sick
I love liquid dnb and I love Virtual Riot but I never expected the two to come together. And it was exactly what I needed
So good man, you don’t miss ❤
instant hit, loved it
I love this man
beautiful!
Wow, this is awesome!!
Omgg it's vayhoz
ughh!! If only you can make ableton actually this good in the settings! so dreamy and inspiring!
INCREDIBLE!
you're literally so good like how do you do this
Omg why cant ableton live just look like this naturally. So pretty
duuuude learning the session view in Ableton Live takes it to a next level
This is insane! More generative music please.
Some generative lo-fi would be cool, something that plays in the background while working or smthn
Very nice
Hella cool
damn, thats nice 🧐
I love it 🔥🔥
Trop fort Bravo!!
Nice idea... Never thought of doing polys this way before....... :)
So is this the future of music? This could be applied to so much!
You should make these songs formal and upload them for your new work on an album, this is totally deserved 💜
Major Liquicity vibes, love it.
Super cool
now I wanna try this
Full single 🔥
Every time I watch a VR video I remember how I’m very much still a beginner. Gonna go watch all these vids back to back brb
goosebumps, i want a full track NOW.. PLEASE
This sounds like beatbox Loopstation routine, Dope!
Hell fcking yeah, this was such a joy to watch
i like your funny words magic man
2:59 minute of healing😍
It's a banger! 🥶🥶🥶
Those glowy shaders look so vibey!! Can I get that for FL? I would love to have this!
Awesome. Would be great to hear polymeters + polyrhythm in 1 track
Banger
Sooo cool! I first thought that you are going to do a livestream, but I’m glad you don’t as I’m going to a blacklist event in Germany now 😅
omg i need the skin or whatever video filter this is. also sickkkk performance!!!!
cool
Just crazy Virt...🤙🔥🥀
super duper cool!!!!!
also, how did you get your ableton to look like that, with the glowing buttons?
yess pls
2:59 Bassline so futuristic his Mac fell into a tesseract created by future humans.
dude why is your Ableton glowing like this??? I want this too? Is this a video bloom/glow effect? I love it soooooo much!!
this isnt just super cool technically this is like amazing music and im adding it right now to my playlist on youtube music
Yeah baby!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ sick
I feel u put together a very calculated foundation than freestyled on it. I like
DOPE
everytime surprised
is this just a filter or is there a ableton template that looks like that? what a cool jam !!
Still remember when paper planes came out and now hes just running through this shit like its a sunday drive. Love your music man, edm is probably the last form of high production free range ideas that isn't created from algorithms of interest(besides indie *insert your genre here*). Please play in austin soon, last time i saw you the place flooded but pretty sure that was just bass busting the water lines.
how did you make your ableton colors glow ? how did you do that ? amazing stuff as always
It reminds me of the RC505
You should do a live ableton Dj set using this idea
This is the type of shit that Jacob Collier would love to count
Loving Ableton with RTX on
This is maaaad
We need a 1h version
YOOO

imagine virtual riot artist reveal for geometry dash, would actually be so hype
Really cool, this going to be on the Patreon? Would love to play around with this.
Why not build your own? 🙂
@@airfixx_8952 because I have no idea how to
@@nova2wl - Which part?
Whilst clearly very well executed; the principals at play here are fairly achievable. I'm reluctant to hijack someone else's channel, but a couple of tips……
Polymeters can be put together a number of different ways so long as you understand the basic concept of what they are (a quick wiki should suffice on that front). Essentially; it’s just a series of loops of different lengths all running at the same tempo. (Here VR is running midi on a series of diff tracks and routing them all back into the same sampler, but you can also just use multiple copies of the same sampler instead if the routing feels too complicated)
As for creating generative melodies; there’s lot of good videos on YT that will get you up and running using the stock Ableton midi tools and a few other tricks like 'follow actions' and the 'chain selector' in instrument racks.
Perhaps as a start, watch the video again in slo-motion as 90% of what you need is laid out right in front of you.
Good luck.
i need skin with glow 😤🔥
Oh gosh!
Ableton with bloom looks so cool, we need reshade mode for it lol
I clicked this to laugh at the glow on Ableton but actually it looks really sick full screen. And it sounds wicked
i think we need a new aka for this polymeter stuff
Is the glow effect video edited or is that part of Ableton itself
VR doin VR things
Virtual RIot pls tell me how you made this bass, cause it sounds too good
better song in 20s of fiddling than me in 20 hours dialed in
