Even if you are not going to use any of these tools just watching him explaining the processes and listening to what he's making fills you with ideas and puts you into this "atmosphere of creativity". It's beautiful
Of course VR would post a "stock ableton" hack and then give a deep dive into shaperbox time BEFORE giving out a rack that turns the dry "kalimba" at 8:05 to an omnisphere level preset at 9:58. These videos inspire the hell out of me and I look forward to all of them
This reminds me of back in 2010 or so when I was playing with the FL version of this and just messing with sounds. glad you still have the freedom to experiment like this, it's wholesome.
Ableton's Electric is a wonderful sounding instrument that quietly sits under the radar a bit and has tons of flexibility. I enjoyed creating so many stock Ableton Live presets with it over my years with the company that can be found in Live 8 through Live 11. Great video as always with so many awesome tips and tricks 😄
@@akira20ish I understand and agree, but shaperbox is ready to use, while in snapheap you have to make it yourself, which is amazing, but people are lazy.
Such pretty sounding kalimbas, with all those effects and macros I could imagine a Lo-fi track that's constantly evolving with automation. Looking forward to trying this out soon once I finally upgrade from Standard to Suite. Also I can't wait for your next releases, I'm excited to see if I can recognize any of the sound design techniques and audio effects you've been teaching us. You're the absolute goat man, thanks again for blessing us with your wisdom.
@@official_zalent I believe it's just the difference because it's based on which audio effects/instruments are in which package, I got most of the audio effects and about half of the instruments with Standard. Although it won't let me upgrade to Suite until Live 12 releases because I get a free upgrade to Live 12 Standard once it drops.
Hey VR! This series has been amazing, and I love it so much. It's incredibly inspiring, especially when Abelton can sometime feel so overwhelming! Is it possible for you to do a tutorial on how you like to Organize your library? Just all your instruments/racks/audio effects and samples you've collected over the time! I would love to see what you do :) I feel like file structure and organization is super important! and I'm curious what your workflow is, so I'd love it if you'd consider making a video on your process!
My 7950X3D is crying at your CPU usage with the lo-fi, layers, halo, vinyl, warm tape, VHS, and blur racks. I'd test them all out to see how much CPU usage my system would be at but a friend bought me the PC and I can't afford Live suite or Patreon at the moment (SOON THOUGH!)
Saw your set in Philadelphia last night.im 43 and have been going to concerts like this since i was 17. By far one of the best sets ive wver heard.👏👏👏👏👏
Love making that lullaby music box sound with Applied Acoustic lounge lizard EP-4. Plugin just sounds amazing.❤ Edit: I use FL and can't believe Ableton has a stock plugin by these guys. Soo jealous.😒
@@afrosheent3arcmichael69 Music is hard, but anyone can learn how to play a DAW like an instrument to great levels of proficiency, just takes time and practice.
for a lofi sound, you should check out the bonsai effect in surge, i forget which it’s called but the dull or age control is a nonlinear bandpass that somehow manages to capture the vibes of old noisy recordings. but i’m biased, i came up with it lol
Valentin, first off, that's amazing work! Second, if I wanted to get EXACTLY these presets in the future like i.e 3 months down the line, from your patreon, is that still possible, or are these a "u snooz u luz" kinda deal? Like does the content cycle each month?

Amazing video, love this content. Unfortunately I added the .adg file into my Ableton session, but I'm not hearing any audio coming out of it. I can see the midi signal reaching all the way to the Electric plug-in, but see/hear no audio. Anyone got any ideas?
So lots of melodic textures with that 2nd instrument that could be pulled back in the mix and only be heard more fully if I drop the drums, pads other instruments down in the mix and I would apply an auto pan and tweak the Dry/Wet and map it to a pot on my MiniLab
hey i'm having trouble with the kalimba audio rack, i can't drag it into audio or midi tracks and when i double click it says that "only audio effects can be placed in this kind of track".

Placing a negative delay on a track will in effect delay all other tracks by that amount. It works as "look ahead" time for the devices that receive the trigger, such that they can react immediately. Useful for exact ducking.
@@hvh_music yes. In this video he is sending the trigger to Shaperbox, but it would work the same if you picked the trigger as your source in a sidechain selector for a compressor or similar. Again, note that you introduce 5 ms latency.

If you are using vst3 for ShaperBox, you can save the presets as .vstpreset files, for vst2 you can save them within audio effect racks. :)
Thank you I'll have a look at this! Audio-Effect rack might be the way haha.
