I have been chasing this shredded beef in Peking sauce for around 20 years and would drive from Melbourne to Adelaide's chinatown to eat it, Thank you I hope to make it in the next week and will report on my effort. Its interesting that for the whole time every place as ask says its Hoisen sauce I need well now I have the answer and the secret, thank you ❤
1 year Update to this recipe, Rik this has become my go to sauce of all time, be it shredded beef, pork, chicken and yes cheese sandwiches it is the best sauce you can make and YES you will WOW your friends with this one. My favourite with this Peking sauce is definitely Shredded Beef strips coated in cornflour/rice flour and deep fried, then in a wok add in the Peking Sauce, toss and combine and serve on a bed of fried Vermicilli and serve with Singapore Noodles or fried rice. Again Rik thank you and yes it does keep in the fridge for up to 4 weeks but doesnt last that long. Cheers Ian 😀
My wife ordered Crispy skin Peking duck in a "red wine Jus" Last weekend. I HATE DUCK! But I tried a bit dipped in the "Jus" I'm sure there wasn't much red wine, BUT it was amazing I would eat cardboard gumboots with this sauce/Jus! I'm gonna try this because I think you're on the money. My wife asked the chef; "what was in the Jus? " Duck bones, liver of a horse kidney of a cat filling up the sausages....." chef wouldn't say . Neither would I (Trade secret, It's your lively hood.) I'll keep y'all posted.

What type of sauce is this, you didn’t say? I don’t know if you know, but Peking Sauce has a secret ingredient that makes it Peking Sauce instead of Hoisin Sauce. You didn’t mention it. Peking - said 27 times 😂😂😂
