  • Trying out the Vevor ultrasonic cleaner on a Briggs carburetor. I used Simple Green Extreme aircraft & precision parts cleaner for my detergent. (Link to this detergent below)

You are gonna love that US cleaner Brett!! I had not seen the Simple Green Aircraft Cleaner. I did use the Simple Green Pro, that also doesn't turn carbs gray, but it may not work quite as well as that stuff you used. I'mma get some of that and try it. I have a 4-wheeler carb needs cleaning coming up shortly.

Glad you liked the video. I got that simple green aircraft cleaner from Amazon. Watch how you mix it just in case but it worked well. In fact, I’ll put a link to it in the description.

Thanks Bruce. Much appreciated. I’m still learning with this thing so some of it is trial and error but I’m learning from you guys as well.

Hit the carb body and most parts with a thin coat of WD40 immediately after cleaning and drying. You'll notice a good difference in results and 'preserves' it until installed and used.

Just got to be careful when cleaning these carbs off lawn and garden equipment. Especially the smaller 2 cycle carbs. Many have tiny check valves in them that are inaccessible, and they are made of a material like mylar. If you use the wrong chemical or excessive heat in the tank you will damage the check valve(s) and then the carb will no longer run properly.

You got a good point. As far as the little 2 cycle carbs I don’t really mess with those to start with. For what it costs for a carb kit and the labor involved it’s just as expensive for me to just replace the carb. That way everything is new to start with.

Dawn dish soap and 100 degrees seems to be safe 😊

@@shoptalkwithbrett6572 I'll still enjoy rebuilding the tiny 2 cycle carbs. The kits run ~ 15 bucks, and with my labor it's cheaper than buying an OEM carb.

@@philliphall5198 Good to know. I will try it. I also will sometimes soda blast the carb for a like new look and nice finish. Literally takes ~2 minutes. The soda completely washes away unlike sandblasting.

One of the reasons also that I don’t rebuild those mini 2 cycle carbs is I lost all the vision in my right eye and have limited vision in my left. Thus, I quit taking in any handheld equipment and pretty much just do mowers.
