Ultrasonic cleaners are amazing! There are specialty splvents formulated tor certain metals but they are much more expensive than $1 a gallon!

I think I could have gotten away with 1/4. That stuff is good for the money. I'm still cleaning parts with that same vat of cleaner.

I have one, I bought it to clean parts for my Plymouth 230 flathead engine rebuild. I used Simple green max. Cuts through the crud quite nicely. Great machine for the money, nice video you made on it, thanks...

Is that the blue stuff? I used that on some other carbs and it works great!

    D. G. Sells LA's totally awesome cleaner in the spray bottle is the best cleaner I know of and Vevor products that I've purchased so far are great.

    Hey Dave,
    Great timing.
I have been thinking about getting an ultra sonic cleaner.
That was a legit test for sure.
On the cleaning agent, I think the LAs is short for Los Angeles.
That crud stuck in the bottom of the float bowls is old gas that has turned to varnish.
I am not surprised the cleaner did not remove it completely.
But that it removed any of it at all speaks well for the cleaning agent as well as the Vevor Ultra Sonic unit.
I don't know that I would use the heat on everything put into the unit.
I would think it is best used for items that have oil or grease on/in them.
You should be able to spray some carb cleaner in the bowls and make them spotless.
Was that paint on the calipers or powder coating ?
If that was powder coat, " WOW " for the US unit and or the cleaning agent.
    Dave, your reviews are helpful.
My thanks to the people who make the items you have reviewed, for trusting that you will do an honest review.
    Be Well

The paint was already peeling off on the calipers. They were off the 1975 Goldwing. I'm not sure the exact coating on them. I already repainted them and am rebuilding them. That should be the next video, getting that Goldwing back on the road after sitting since 1983. I'll tell Jess to get her act together and get out and help me!

Pinesol, trust me. For things like carbs Pinesol kicks butt in ultrasonic cleaners

I've always used pinesol in previous videos but they were out so I gave this a try. Not bad honestly. Mixed it a bit heavy though.

The carb bodies didn't darken because they're zinc the bowls are aluminum.

    Hey Dave,
Great video! That ultra sonic tank works really well. Don’t use a product called “Oil Eater”. I worked for a propane company for a while, and my boss got a heated oil eater solvent tank. I use to clean and rebuild a lot of propane carbs(mixers) and regulators for automotive propane systems. The main component in Oil Eater is Salt. It started to eat the aluminum and cause electrolysis in the aluminum and pitted the parts and sealing surfaces bad.
Made the skin peal on your hands too. Wonder how well that unit would work with the solution that people mix up with the the home made units , water and arm&hammer baking powder for laundry? I see a lot of people use it to remove rust from cast iron cook ware that they are cleaning and restoring.
    Great video!!! Thanks

You tube has a lot of people making up ultrasonic cleaners with big tubs, sacrificial metal, and water and arm &hammer baking powder. If I remember right, they mix 1/4 cup arm &hammer to 1 gallon of water . They use a old school manual battery charger and hook the positive clamp to the sacrificial metal, and the ground clamp to the item to be cleaned.
Works very effectively to remove rust and build up from cast iron or any other steel parts. Not sure how it works for aluminum or other metals.

I have been using this same ultrasonic cleaner to clean automotive carbs for the past 6 months or so and mine works great. I use a basket from a carb chemdip can to hold small parts. Great video.
