Just saw them on royal st, prob at this very spot. Great show. Had subs for robin and barnabus, plus Ewan and max were absent. Amazed at the fantastic sound you get in the street.
Sorry, Andy. No Bix, no Tram. They are heros of another saga. Here you have the GREAT KING OLIVER impersonated by the GREAT SHAYE COHN in a magnificent interpretation with her GREAT bandfellows!
Hahahahaha! A typo has my new music file labeled ‘Tuna Skinny’ and I love this music so much I am leaving it that way to remind me of what is really important , to wit, not sweating the small stuff. Thanks guys!
Wendy Jean, you can keep the file name or correct it, it doesn't matter. What is important is that YOU know the great music that you are keeping in your "Tuna Skinny" file.
Was going to say the cornet sounded as sweet as Bix. Didn’t Tram play a C melody rather than alto? This music is like a fine, well aged claret and gets better as time goes by.
I think you would have to wait a very long time for a copy of the sheet music to come up on eBay. If you have a good ear, try tackling it for yourself (as Tuba Skinny probably did). This one is fairly straightforward (standard 32-bar on a simple chord progression in Eb [though they drop to C just for one chorus - exactly as King Oliver did]).
Ewan gets fantastic sound!
Terrific alto sax solo ! He REALLY put his heart & soul in THAT one :)
Yes indeed!
This is so New Orleans but so Shaye at the same time how can you not love it?
Shaye is swinging so hard on this. Great band. Damn, I wish I could be there.
Happy to see/hear Ewan Bleach again at TS.
Oh me, when I hear that sax, I get a little crazy. Love it. Of course, it’s all good. Love TS. ❤️❗️
Heerlijke ritmiek, geeft vitaliteit en levensvreugde.
Shaye captures the essence of King Oliver here. Amazing! Brilliant performance!
Never get tired of listening to this great band.

Love that tuba on a stand! Carrying such a beast is brutal.
Gordon Bainbridge much of the time, he plays a Sousaphone as you wear it instead of carrying it.
Go Robin! Great percussionist!!!!
had me bouncing and smiling the whole time!
You guys brightening my day
Just a hint of the direction Glen Miller took. This band is beyond words.

Greetings from sunny England- loving this, so damn good, I’m wearing my tapping foot out...
They are only getting better from one year to the next, what a talented group! Love Shaye, where is Erica?
That's Bix and Tram. Beautifully done and thanks!

When I played the trumpet in the orchestra, I always cleaned it with goya paste and it always shone like gold. It would be nice to clean the trombone.
Not a easy number, you've done King Oliver proud.
If I could bottle this stuff ~ I'd make millions. :-)
No you wouldn't, because everybody else would be bottling it too.

Try & not tap your feet to this...WoW

What hot jazz, top sax, keep Craig off solos
I love TS... Can't find this sheet music, though. Anyone?

Hi Dave, and if you don't have a good ear, drop playing REAL Jazz - that should be played without any sheet music...lol.....
Double reeds again since a long time
They sound great together, Job, don't they!
King Oliver’s tune
Oh Lordy the cornet sounding like Bix.
Shes Great ain She
Sorry no Bix here, that's pure JOE KING OLIVER's sound.

King Oliver coudn`t have done it better.
