@@ZachDarvin what if my screen just go black. Nothing happens
Jordy Try another game just to check? Based on experience, there are some games which may not work. Another thing is FMV might not work well, so you can skip it.
@@ZachDarvin i mean not even mcboot logo appear.
Jordy is your system compatible
You should lower the volume on the background music and sound effects on the future. I appreciate the video.
Thanks. This is one of my earlier vids, back when I was trying to find the right mix of BG music and voice sound. I believe I had some progress with my more recent vids. :)
Sir you are awesome! Finally I can play my PS2 Slim because of boredness during the pandemic! Greetings from Las Piñas!
Joey Boy Mission I just installed my own FMCB. My 2 latest video tutorials discusses that.
There are SO MANY videos about FMCB, and somehow the only legit guide is this random video from 2 years ago, great job! 👏👏👏
Dude you're awesome! Thank you so much for this. My ps2 disk lens doesn't work anymore so you basically resurrected it! Thank you!
Dude is so amazing , I was penning ide harddrives the past few months on fatties cuz I was scratching my head on how to do it with a usb drive on a slim with a shot disk drive I’ve had for a while now . Happy to know I can still keep it alive
Sir ask ko lang po, kapag ba naka mcboot na-sasave mo din ang mga save files mo? Or hindi? Thankyou so much!
Pwede mag save dun sa card
Ahaha king Fb
@kilua Hiroshi may OPL din?
@kilua Hiroshi try to add the games via usbutil
@kilua Hiroshi possible na di compatible ang flashdrive na isa sa ps2. Better if mga USB 2.0 flashdrives kaysa yung bago na USB 3.0
Man i solved an underlying issue. I couldn't help but notice your content and style is straight to the point, your great all around!
THIS ACTUALLY WORKED!!! HOLY FISH AND BREAD!!! I ALMOST CRIED!! IT......its so beautiful 🥺
Can you recommend a site to download ISO discs?
@@calmdownnow20 coolroms seems like the best one. Romhustler is good too
@@DtownCboy Thanks for your reply....one last question..are the discs from coolROMS are ISO format?
@@calmdownnow20 yea its usually a complete copy of everything
Does anybody know how to fix a black screen whenever trying to start a game from opl?
Great video, love how he got straight to the point and kept it simple to understand . Good Job
Just subscribed after checking out a few of your videos. Good stuff man!
THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN, EXTREMELY EASY EXPLANATION!!
thank you for such a great video! i think i will try this as well, since playstation games are hard to find where i live :) have a nice day
Awesome! Just pump up the energy a notch and we're golden, mate 👌
Thanks for this video , it was very helpful :)
Glad it helped!
AWESOME! I was about to give up on my fat and slim PS2s because their disc drives were no good until I seen this video! Thanks bro! 😬😬
For folks here that are having serious lag issues, try plugging the USB stick into port 2 (the one on the right). I've had better load / video response that way :)
What about on a PS2 fat dawg
@@YouNoMeDawg Try plugging it into the back port that is labeled *UR-BOOT*
That wholesome intro deserved a sub from me. The rest of the video earned my notifications. Great content my guy, keep it up 👍
Perfection style video and easy to watch. I gave you a sub
paolo ciccaglione thank you so much!
dude your vid is best thx you got this done super ez!
Great video bro, very easy to follow.
Not gonna lie but that hair is fire. ☆■☆
Thanks dude. I've watched other videos and yours were the most helpful
Dude you’re the best thanks!
your ps2 is the last place you'd expect to find an scp
I missed playing ffx so i tried using my ps2 slim last sunday, but the ps2 can't read it as a ps2 cd 🤷🏻♀️ idk if it's the laser problem or the cd is just too old.
But I'm glad i found your video since now i have 3 options to proceed.
Have a dvd burned with my game
Have the ps2 cleaned since it's really old so maybe the laser will work
And if neither work, have it cleaned and then order free mcboot online.
This is so helpful, i know there are remastered versions available on steam and ps3 & ps4 etc. But i cant afford any of those and miss the experience of playing games on my old ps2
Gotta try this soon I have a PS2 slim and will try this if it’s compatible thank you for this video!
Any games that are larger than 4gb then you may have to use a program called usbutil
Joseph Asad thanks for the recommendation!
Sir ask ko lang po yung guitar hero po kasi na 4GB lang trinay ko ipaste sa Flashdrive ko na 32GB hindi sya mapaste tapos lumalabas yung error na "The file 'Guitar Hero II' is too large for the destination file system. hindi ko po talaga alam kung bakit ayaw I hope ma notice nyo po ako mga master hehehe. Thank you in advance!
Paano?
Love from India🤗🤗 your videos is very useful bro...!
Dude thanks! I can fly u in for dinner. I live in NYC. I told my wife u r coming over!!! Wonderful news right!!. This is gonna be great. I will cook U Japanese food and even invite my uncle.

You guys completely missed the joke. Fucking idiots lmao
Your videos are the best fmcb videos. Thanks gg fist bump
Thanks mate your video has been useful to me. Couldn’t understand why I wasn’t able to see my USB ISO but I solved by changing the settings :)
what settings did you change?
i have the same problem it don’t show my iso on the loader. I have the iso on / DVD folder. :/

Now i can play the OLD PS2. Thank you for very clear instructions
yooo so when you got the ISO file and you put it into the flash drive you dont need to rename it ?? I noticed you just dragged it over and kept original names ? thank you so much for this video !! very helpful
Yup. But I guess it helps renaming it to shorter ones (I usually just type the title of the game), removing other texts like the numbers some sites at to the roms.
GG Fist Bump ok awesome !!!! Thank you !!
GG Fist Bump last question i have a MacBook and I see the flash drive is already at fat32 and DEF JAM FIGHT FOR NY is 4.69 gb can I still drag it over ?? I have a 128 gig flash drive
D. Wade how do we do this on a MacBook ??
I never rename mine and I have one that the name is really long
Thank you so much! I'll be following your steps after while to do this, definitely looking forward to it.
Did mine yesterday, been play DBZ BT3 ever since, i almost wanna cry 🥺🤣🤣🤣😁
aahh, you have to put isos in DVD folder, thank you!
How do you mean?
dude you are awesome i was trying to find a tuto like yours pretty clean and easy to understand, thx =)
Says a mojerity of PS2 slims, then shows a picture of the 9xxxxx series!
The 9xxxxxx series looks roughly the same but without the black strip in the middle
What's the largest USB flash drive it will support?
my ps2 version is SCPH-70004, will it work?
Yes

That's funny I just bought 8mb FMBC Memcards from Shopee.......Southeastasian gang rise up!
how was it bro
naka hdmi kaba bro? or av connector lang? inadjust mo.ba yung resolution to 1080p?
I thought all you needed to play a ps2 repro game is the mcboot card itself😢. How do I play a ps2 repro game?
Very good tutorial. Very straight forward. Is there a way to keep the settings to auto read USB permanent? And I tried with USB hdd but doesn’t work. Any advise on that?
There is a save settings button on the main menu of it
And also he mentioned it was slower on usb lol
i just get a black screen
Ummm can u still show us to put free mcboot in our own memory card. Does the memory card size matter?? Like the one u have is 8mb soo u could save few games or it wont matter??
LandOfSand You can install free mcboot on any PS2 memory card. It’s lightweight. Anyway, the games will be on USB. I just can’t show it now during quarantine as I have my PS2 in another house and I can’t go out to get it.
@@ZachDarvin im waiting for that video too my ps2 cannot read CD's thats why i wanna play via usb
Amazing video, very simple and it works 10/10. I'm playing DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2 right now!
how to know if mcboot is installed in the memory card or is it by default
You have to check if the freemcboot menu loads when you open the PS2 with it inserted. You either have to install freemcboot or buy one from sellers that have it installed.
@@ZachDarvin oh thanks a lot
Great Video. I appreciate your thorough approach!
Ok i’m gonna try this and see if this works wish me luck!! 😃

KingstonTG no, it isn’t. It’s just a file my usb created on it’s own.
KingstonTG no, it isn’t. It’s just a file my usb created on it’s own.
That is correct. It's because in (his) windows, the uploader on this vid has enabled in his folder options to see hidden files and folders.
So yes, disregard.
What a fantastic tutorial man! Thank you very much for you help.
Can it work in ps2 slim SCPH 79005 NTSC JAPAN plss reply

Majin Kaine yup
Finally a video that explains alot of stuff I didnt understand. But one last issue is that when I download a game.. it's not in iso format but in rare and inside it too many game files so idk
CyanKnight_Q9 You mean a rar file? Can you check the extension of that file? It might be an ISO already, but you made ISOs appear as rat files too.
You're awesome, thank you so much!
think this is the easiest and best one and has answers all my questions
Hey bro can I run this game in without mc boot memory card
Stone action Gamer What game? Bully? You would need still need a free mcboot. Or a physical Disc of the game.
pointers.. you can play in full motion video in a different without the to burn it to dvd.. use PS2SMB share using your computer or capable router to using ethernet port
sir if i dont have memory card for ps2 is it gonna be ok or not?
Edgardo Yap Unfortunately, you need to have a Ps2 memory with freemcboot installed. USb flashdrives alone won’t work.
@@ZachDarvin Will it work on a 4GB and/or 8GB USB Flash Drive?
new subscriber here! greetings from cagayan de oro city!

Drag and lang to USB
Nice and easy. Thanks. Definitely going to give it a go.
hey there again can u plz tell me that does mcboot delete the data in my memory card
Dudeplayze You can still use the game for saves. Although I’m not sure if it’ll delete previous saves if in case you’ll install it for the first time. Thinking about it, you would need a bit of space to install the program. So I guess if there isn’t any space, you’d need to delete.
@@ZachDarvin thanks bro for so much help
@@ZachDarvinwhat if my disk is broken ? Will it still work??
You can install only opl in every slim ps2 scph-9xxxx with any data code but it should be modded with modchip like matrix infinity (not only this modchip)you will need a CD or DVD and install wlaunchelf seeing that what you have bought CD or DVD then burn it in wlaunchelf using any burner like ultraiso , poweriso etc.then run that CD or DVD on ps2 slim and then download wlaunchelf only zip(not iso) with boot.elf file in it and copy it in USB and also insert that CD or DVD and USB in ps2 then run PS2 and go to filebrowser make a boot folder in mc0 if there are no files in mc0 try in mc1 and make a boot folder in the memory card(in capital letters)copy boot.elf from mass folder and paste it in that folder then download opl and paste it in USB now when you start PS2 without CD or DVD hold R1 button when you turn it on to boot in wlaunchelf and go to mass again and create a folder named opl(in capital letters) in memory card and paste all the files of opl in that folder which you have created in mc0 or mc1 and run open2load.elf then go to settings and change USB auto to manual if you are using USB .If you are using HDD select HDD as manual then go to games list and select USB or HDD and press x(run) which is displayed on screen controls select game and you are ready to go.
Neelam Gupta Thanks for that! Yes, it’s possible for SCPH-9xxxx but a modchip is needed.
Will it still save unto the memory card?
keer francisco Yes. You can still save even if there’s Free Mcboot.
@@ZachDarvin I'm having an issue My Ps2 is not reading the disc What should i do?
keer francisco clean the laser
help i downlpaded dragon ball budokai and extracted and put in dvd folder on the usb and did everything you said but its not showing up even though i put manual by the way im using a toshiba usb

This video is better with the audio off. Why do youtubers think that background music adds any value to the video? It distracts from the narrator and makes it harder to hear what the narrator is saying. Some videos have the "background" music so loud, I can't hear what the narrator is saying!
Hey there just followed your steps, the game boots up for about a min or 2 then it freezes as i progress any solutions? Thx
KdotBdot 5 try to defrag the file? It’s also possible it’s freezing with FMVs. Just skip it with start.
apparently the SCH-90k models have finally been hacked! Cannot wait to try this!
best Free McBoot tut
thanks for the affective tutorial man much love❤
been watching your vids and it helped me bring back to life my old ps2 which I haven’t played in 8 years. Please make a vid on how to mod GTA San Andreas on PS2 if it is possible please. I have a FMCB PS2
Wont work with any files bigger than 4gb, fat32 only supports up to 4gb.
Garry North Yes, I have another video on that. Check my channel to know how to included games over 4Gb.

Does the PS2 needs to be jail broken? Are just a factory stock PS2?
Great information. Thank you. Subscribed
Appreciate the video. The background music is so distracting though. It is louder than your voice.
Yeah, it’s one of my earlier vids.
Request, please create a tutorial on how to install macboot for PS2, will very much appreciate!
James Ranches Did that just now! Uploading the video. Wait for it to appear on my channel. :D
wow! Thanks a lot!
its saying the file is fragmented but other than that it is reading the flash drive.
If there is a error i.e error the game is not fragmented you can turn off check USB fragmentation option and if you don't want to turn it off you can use defraggler to defrag your stored files
wow this was 2 years ago?
i only found out about the freeboot recently
Thanks for the vid man. I was about to buy a used ps2 console and i got curious on what mc boot is and how am i gonna play. Now I'm certainly gonna get it to enjoy some of the older titles :)

Great video! Can I use a USB 3.0 stick instead of 2.0? Or can you elaborate on why 2.0 is preferred? Thanks!
Wyatt 3.0 is okay but it won’t improve speed. So it’s better to have the cheaper 2.0.
This is due to PS2 only capable of USB 1.1.
GG Fist Bump thanks for the quick response! I just remembered I have a hard drive I use to back up my Mac. It has plenty of storage, would there be any issue with partitioning ~100gb of it and formatting it to FAT32 to use with my PS2?

fortuna-fmcb does work with the models that usually require a modchip. it just doesn't boot straight into fmcb
however you have to make the memory card itself with an already modded ps2
