Mike - Melissa is a gem! Love the way she works with you - mine does the same. Women like ours are a true gift! Melissa seems to have a ton of energy and I'm sure you fully appreciate her support of your entire family (pets included) while still having time, energy, and interest to "pitch in" on your projects (which aren't generally low impact)! She's very good at everything she does - you are a very lucky man! I am too...
Mike, this is exactly why I like the Outdoorswiththemorgans channel. It’s called CLASS! You get hit by a dingbat (Mark) and you don’t do as I would do (we won’t go there) you simply and politely make a challenge to ole Mark. I’ve said it before...you inspire me to be a better person.
MIKE, you have come a long way on your journey with YT. We all learn sumpin when we watch these Channels that are free! We're never too old to learn. Your comment bout 'Be kind', (Buckin Billys favorite saying!) hits home to me.You have gained more seasoned wisdom, caricature...n' subs, a great channel! Always worth watching. Thanks for all yinz do.
Mike and Melissa, I look forward seeing your videos each day. Don't allow someone's remarks to hinder you and Melissa continuing these interesting and entertaining videos. You can never fully entertain or please everyone. I was impressed with how long Melissa's strength continued while hammering the bolts with such a small hammer. Just remember there are many of us enjoying all your videos each day. Keep the great videos coming and thanks for your time.
Ya know, when I came to your channel back last year to see what you were all about, I almost didn't watch you, if it wasn't for you letting your wife help you in the wood yard it open my eyes, it's not all about wood, it's about family helping one another and the live y'all share. Keep it up!
Hey Melissa, you go girl! I love it when my wife helps me! She helped me tonight haul in and stack firewood! Sounds like you have a jealous viewer! Roger from NE Ohio
From all the different videos I have watched on sawmills they say that compressed air is your best friend, keep the sawmill free of dust and so on. I am not an expert on sawmills but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. You take care and be careful. God Bless PS tell Hunter howdy from WV
Lol. More like memories. Worked in a small mill in northern Wisconsin many years ago. At it before the break of dawn every day. A smell that I will never forget. One I’m sure Mike is enjoying. No way anybody in their right mind wouldn’t. :)
Great response Mike, I remember helping a mate replace the deck on a bridge that had been washed away in a flood, I had to hammer bridge spikes through the deck, not above my head and with the correct hammer, was still bloody hard work!!! Tell Melissa she is doing a great job, and hello to Hunter.
You're really getting the knack of using that Wood-Mizer down now, and making some beautiful lumber in the process. That red oak makes up some beautiful wood.
Well said at the end of your video. Love what you have done with your channel and great effort you have put into it. Thanks for letting us be a part of it.
Good job, showing restraint about some of the comments on that previous video. I believe these guys are jealous that they don't have a Melissa in their lives that wants to share life with them. Mike you are blessed beyond measure to have found your soulmate and she's willing to get right in there and get her hands dirty. My bride is just like her and is a constant blessing to everyone that meets and knows her.
That’s some very nice lumber you guys have there! Don’t let the negative garbage change how you think or what you are doing! It’s all as perfect as that red oak
It always amazes me just how beautiful some trees are once processed through a mill. Just beautiful. Can’t wait to see that blind build too. Thanks guys, n Melissa and Mike as well, don’t let the old 66 yr old tree climber comedian wanna be Mark get to you........ sounds like he’s maybe been hit in the head by falling branches one to many times lol. You are blessed in many ways Mike to have such a wonderful wife and some ppl just can’t handle the fact that they weren’t blessed as well as some others and they feel like they have to belittle others. Thanks as always! Scott
Mike, enjoyed watching you run your WM. If we all will admit it learning is one of the most fun things in life. Keep up the great vids and let the boo birds fly by.
Ha! Melissa can most likely run circles around many men that watch your channel. My wife also works very hard around the ranch and we are thankful to have them. That wood mill sure does make some fine looking wood. You are truly blessed to have enough trees to feed it.
Hey Mike, hang a 5 gallon bucket on the outlet chute for the sawdust. Handy to empty and you wont be walking thru sawdust all the time. Looks like a great machine. Shows us how you are storing your wood for drying. Hello to Hunter "Have A Day"!
Reaching that far overhead to hammer is much more difficult especially if you're not used to it than straight across, I think she did a great job. Thanks for the vids, keep'em coming!
Please note this was not me with negative comment. I was fortunate to meet the Morgan’s personally and I think the world of Melissa and Mike . They are hard working and family 💪. Take care.
Its sad that people just watch a channel to hate on it. I don't have tractors a saw mill, or woods for that matter lol. I watch for whats at the core of your channel, Family and an appreciation for the outdoors. Kudos to you for taking the negative for what it is, an opinion and nothing more. 😁
Hey Mike, super nice mill, love you guys and what you do, I know I don't have the time or the desire to be filming myself and my stuff, but I'm glad that you have a great time doing it and I love watching. If it's not to late trade your canthook in for the 6', it's a backsaver, you can flip those big redoaks like twigs😀
Mike I just love that Wood Mizer mill. You do a great job on it. And that oak is beautiful wood. I’m just admiring that awesome grain in the wood. Love your videos. 👍👍👍❤️
Lots of people suffer from the disease of envy these days, its in plague proportions. Melissa showed sheer determination to get those bolts hammered in and I would doubt there would be anyone that would do any better. Oh and Mike I'm good at everything, I'm a legend in my own lunchtime ha ha.
Been watching for the last couple years and this is my first comment. You do a great job with the videos. Glad you got the saw mill. I have hired a fellow a couple times to come to my place and do some Millwork. I loved seeing what’s inside of the logs. Mother Nature put some beautiful wood inside some of the logs. Got to run to BK. Have a good day.
Mike awesome video! Boards look good. My dream one day is to have a sawmill on my homestead and mill all the timber I need to build a garage! Thanks for sharing another awesome video!
In response to your ending comment about Mark I have worked with many Females in my day and Melissa is up there with the best, especially after starting the MS 880.
Mike, I was watching how you use the tractor to rotate the log with the strap, and I couldn't help but think, when you build the building for the sawmill, if you build the roof and/or back wall strong enough above/behind the mill, you could install a winch or hoist to use with the strap for rotating the logs. Just a thought! Or maybe Alpaca power?? :-D
Using the tractor and grapple to turn the logs. That's proving the old adage of "work smarter, not harder". That seemed to work great. That first board that you showed looked absolutely beautiful after you blew it off (using the electric blower is is another great idea).
There be some nice wood in them thar hills Mike. The patterns in the oak are gorgeous. The very 1st people to ever see it are you & your subscribers. The addition of the sawmill is a game changer for you Mike... I like the new log turner too! You nailed it, or at least the blade did, lol! Day (29) yesterday above the pond @ 3.5 hrs. work with gorgeous weather. (1) large poplar remains... BF guess: 8' x 12" = 96 ÷ 12 = 8 BF @ (1) board... Hum... :~) Bill on the Hill... :~)
Nice video.i particularly like your speech at the end and agree 100%.we are all different and by no means experts at everything we do.The fact that she continued to get the job done speaks for itself and she she'll get a bigger hammer the next time.My point is I enjoy you videos and don't often comment and keep up the great videos...cheers.....bet it's spicy chicken this Saturday....lol
Just an idea I had and it may not work but on those things that you screw into the log to keep it from moving, rig it where you could use an impact wrench to tighten them up. It would speed the process. Also rig something to catch the sawdust. That stuff is great on gardens because it builds soil. I wished I had a truck load of sawdust right now! Just some ideas and it’s probably something you have already thought about anyway. Y’all have a good-un!
Around here in Oklahoma they sell the first cut boards as camping firewood. Cut board into 20 inch pieces and bundle 10 pieces together with shrink wrap and sell them for $7. Sells like crazy around our beautiful state parks camp sites. Love your videos.
You know Mike, of all the Hard Woods i think Red Oak is my most favorite. Hard Maple has a pretty grain but still Red Oak in my book is the most beautiful. Thanks buddy.
What a great way to turn the timber! That’s so slick. Are you sure that you hit a nail? I thought maybe a bullet. Nails usually pester you for more than one cut. What beautiful lumber! Guessing moisture content around 60-70%. Those sticks at that thickness could be air dried and usable for construction in about two months of stickered drying. Thanks for the great video. Have a Day y’all.
my dad used to joke when I was younger that I was like lightning with a hammer. I wasn't fast, he meant I never hit the same place twice. haha. what I noticed about Melissa and driving bolts was, she was good... you didn't see too many misses. Her aim was true and she got the job done. well done!
we all got a mark who shows up in the comment section. I liked the way you handled your mark. first nail, dag-nab-it... Mike I am really enjoying watching you learn about your Woodmizer.
Melissa, you, Hunter, your daughters, Piper, Stanley and all are good solid folks. No need to apologize in any manner I would be proud to call your family friends of mine. Like I’ve always said I might not have the most friends but I think I have the best. And I’m sure you do as well. Take care and the Marks will reap what they seed. Just say’n.
I have been told that the debarker is to clean the surface of the wood where the blade enters the wood to keep the log clean so you don't dull the main blade as quickly. It gets rid of the rocks and dirt from the blade. That makes sense to me anyhow. If the log isn't dirty then you don't need to worry about it. Keep up the great videos.
Would love for you to share/remember how much this oak shrinks as it dry's. You are cutting it "over sized" for a reason. Great vids, love the outdoors theme, great property and tools to do what you all love.
Working above your head is never easy, she did fine! It’s time to talk about a pool, Mr Mike! Your wood was beautiful, I never see this in our local BIG BOX store 👍
Amen Mike your wife is a very special person as you are to stick up for your wife. that guy who commented on your wife will never know melissa as with what she does because he will never have a wife like your wife. don't be disheartened with trash as we the people watching will stand behind you both all the way with your endeavours.
Really enjoy the videos you put out. You have a wonderful resource there and the wood-mizer looks as though it's going to work out great for you. I wouldn't worry too much about the odd negative comment, keep up the good work.
I'd say 124 bd-ft. Nice video Mike! Great to see you learning the techniques of the sawyer trade. You will be ready for those massive oak logs in no time! Keep up the great work!

Proud of you Mike, I wondered if you had hit your first nail yet. Have you changed the blade yet? The first blade out of the box can cut you if your not careful. Oh yeah its a good man that stands up for his wife. Ron
mike i have a friend that owns a cabinet shop he has a guy that comes and gets the sawdust from the shop to put on the trails in his woods keeps tne under growth down and makes nice paths no mud
Oh man Mike how I want a bandsaw mill, bad! Looks like so much fun, thanks for sharing! I'm gonna say about 95 board feet of good usable lumber there...might be a bit more. Beautiful wood, wish I were closer to buy some!
for those who may not know a board foot is 1 inch thick by 12 inch long by 12 inch wide....good luck with all your guesses and mike should send out a free sticker to the winner...lol

Melissa always gives it all , wet wood , small hole , over her head , Good job in my books !! Hello to Hunter !!
Easy there Wayne. This here's a family show! :D
@@snymat68 ,LOL!!!
Couldn't have said it better Mike. Melissa is a heck of a wife she does way more in the woods than many.
I love watching you cut wood,it made me get out my chin saw. . Keep up the good work.
Melissa was just making the best with what she had! And most importantly, she didn't give up until the job was done. That's character!

Wow that was some beautiful oak!!! Nothing quite like the smell of fresh cut lumber early in the morning!!
What is going on Jim? Have you got smellavision?
Lol. More like memories. Worked in a small mill in northern Wisconsin many years ago. At it before the break of dawn every day. A smell that I will never forget. One I’m sure Mike is enjoying. No way anybody in their right mind wouldn’t. :)
She can hammer with the best of them. She has a great aim also.

GOD BLESS you and Melissa!!! You're doing great. Keep the videos coming. Thanks.
Melissa I love that you are not afraid to try anything girl. God bless
Mike
I love your attitude about we are all good at something. I have said that for many years. Nice way to defend your wife.
Just love watching that sawdust making machine.
Good use of that electric blower Mike. Handier than a pockets on a shirt.
Reaching that far overhead to hammer is much more difficult especially if you're not used to it than straight across, I think she did a great job. Thanks for the vids, keep'em coming!

Motivational Mike, I think I like that. The grain in that wood is incredible.

That clear red oak is BEAUTIFUL!
This is my first time commenting my wife and I watch together almost every video and love the content
Lots of people suffer from the disease of envy these days, its in plague proportions. Melissa showed sheer determination to get those bolts hammered in and I would doubt there would be anyone that would do any better.

Thanks for sharing your video on cutting that beautiful tree 👍
Nice way to use the RK tractor to flip your logs. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Great idea using the tractor and a strap instead of a peavey. Work smart not hard!
Mike awesome video! Boards look good. My dream one day is to have a sawmill on my homestead and mill all the timber I need to build a garage! Thanks for sharing another awesome video!
Melissa is a BEAST! A real trooper and one of the most supportive wives I have ever seen! 👍🏾
150 board feet. Thanks for sharing your time and family. I truly appreciate the time you all give. God bless and keep posting.
In response to your ending comment about Mark I have worked with many Females in my day and Melissa is up there with the best, especially after starting the MS 880.
Why is it so enjoyable to watch someone run a sawmill?
Mike, I was watching how you use the tractor to rotate the log with the strap, and I couldn't help but think, when you build the building for the sawmill, if you build the roof and/or back wall strong enough above/behind the mill, you could install a winch or hoist to use with the strap for rotating the logs. You're doing a great job with the Wood Mizer. PLEASE put on a dust mask!
Well said Mike , what a great idea, !!!👍
Nice job Mike, love your videos. Hi Hunter and greetings from North Wales 👍🏴
125 board feet. Great video & I think I'm more excited than you to see what the wood looks like after a cut. Lol love the channel.
I'd say 124 bd-ft. Nice video Mike! Great to see you learning the techniques of the sawyer trade. You will be ready for those massive oak logs in no time! Keep up the great work!
I thought she did an excellent job pounding the stove bolts in. Very accurate swinging the hammer 👍
Hey Mike, great job with the new Sawmill, I'm sooo jealous, I'm saving my pennies for one too :). You mention OTW, Nathan has some great handy hints, but I've also found "charley and Sarah" has some great pointers too. He has an older LT 50.... Keep up the good work, love your vid's cheers
128 board feet. I wish my wife worked that hard. Most girls couldn’t even hit the bolt. Go Melissa!!!
Proud of you Mike, I wondered if you had hit your first nail yet. Have you changed the blade yet? The first blade out of the box can cut you if your not careful. Oh yeah its a good man that stands up for his wife. Ron

Oh man Mike how I want a bandsaw mill, bad! Looks like so much fun, thanks for sharing!
I'm gonna say about 95 board feet of good usable lumber there...might be a bit more. Beautiful wood, wish I were closer to buy some!

His name is Mike not mark
Well put!
Mike could you use some of those slabs around the bottom of your tower blind to help descise it and cut the cold air down some?
for those who may not know a board foot is 1 inch thick by 12 inch long by 12 inch wide....good luck with all your guesses and mike should send out a free sticker to the winner...lol

Mike that man is just jealous that he doesn’t have a good woman like Melissa I have a good woman and I can appreciate that
