Take your time, show the gaming industry that Baldur's Gate isn't an industry anomaly.
Gothic is already an RPG with one of the best fleshed out systems out there, replicate the old game and then add attention to detail everywhere, all it takes is time, nothing lost by taking your time. Everything to gain by crafting an amazing game.
Nostalgia alone will propel sales to huge numbers if it's good, and then an income of new players will push it further still.

This looks so much better than the playable teaser did 🥰 Definitely capturing the rough vibe of the game a lot better. Really hoping Diego get's his redesign too and changes his cape and his noble look for his sinister character that he was.

What this trailer is for has nothing to do with the playable teaser anymore.

Unique starting experience, being a part of one of the camps, non other RPG does this.
The atmosphere under the barrier with excellent Kai's music is breathtaking. This threat of the outer world, this danger, and during your leveling you became stronger and stronger, and the river near the old camp that you feared initially became your playground.
The camp u chose in og game was kinda arbitrary after the first or second act anyway, the only real difference was the set of armors u got acces to more easily...and maybe the magic school, but pucking anything other tgan water magic was kinda dumb
Yeh, Dragon Age Origins choice of origin had more impact then that... and while I do have fond memories of Gothic, if we talk about the "best" RPGs of the 2000s, considering there are Games like Dragon Age Origins, Mass Effect, Knights Of The Old Republic, Deus Ex and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines... it doesn't even make the Top 5.
@@FOertel Gothic I aired back when heads was a 20 sided shape, when hand and fist was the same thing, when your ponytail was a conical piece of wood jutting out of your skull...For its time, Gothic I set the stage SO HIGH...I remember my jaw dropping when Diego saved me right at the beginning or the atmosphere when I got to meet the chief thug in the castle, whatever his name was... Gothic I has aged, graphically, yet the atmosphere and amount of gameplay and replayability one could pack in that small map!! It may not make top 5 today, it does not need to. It is a classic.

Deus Ex came out BEFORE Gothic I, Knights of the old Republic only about 1 year after, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines about 3, and Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 1 about 5... ALL of these games are leaps above Gothic I... I do love Gothic I and have fond memories of it and I hope for a worthy remake, but it is clearly NOT the best RPG of its time...
@@FOertel You're comparing games with multinational publishers and expected funding, while Gothic was a german production under an austrian publisher. But yeah. Mass Effect 6 years later is comparable to technology and funding used to Gothic 1. Totally ignoring Gothic 2 being released just a year later.
I was a teenager, when Gothic 1 came out and it was one of the games I played until the very end. Not many games could ever catch me like the original Gothic. So in a very long time, I can say, that I'm very excited for this.
My only problem with this is the fact that everyone seems to be british now. Before, the accents varied a lot and it gave me the feeling of a diverse place with prisoners from all over the world.

Kistru ty to w końcu lepiej zagraj w Kroniki Myrtany, bo one to praktycznie nowy Gothic, a materiału oraz tematów do remixów w nich też jest wiele (np przy akcji z armatą sobie wyobrażałem jak tworzysz z tego remix i poza śmianiem się z tej akcji to jeszcze te wyobrażenia podsycały śmiech xD)

i have one big wish for this game: authentic voices for other languages. Especially the german version of the original was great. Authentic Speakers and voicelines. It adds a lot to the atmosphere!
Well, it's known that they'll use the old voice artists from back in the days wherever it's possible and that goes for all languages, German included.
Man i hope the dub for Polish voice will use the same VA's

I love that they took player feedback to their heart after the initial playtest dropped some years ago. Even if this isn't a perfect remake, I'm glad it's being made and that I'll be able to experience Gothic in a completely new way.

Ten remaster jedynki na switcha będzie dość ciekawy, brak bugów które były w Gothicu 22 lata to trochę jakby ważne ficzery usunęli xD Drabina po której można wejść? No ja nie wierzę.

Back in the day when I was like 12-14 we had no internet.I remember getting my hands on this gem.I've easily invested around 300-400hours into both Gothic 1 and 2.Can't wait for the remake.
The vibe is spot on, cynical and cutthroat, it is exactly what makes Gothic be Gothic and I really hope people will use this as an advantage in marketing as well. We have plenty of unshakable pillars of the community heroes, nothing even comes close to the "I'll do anything to survive" attitude of Gothic.

I didn't like the playable teaser much, but this is amazing! It seems the devs really understand now what Gothic should feel like. I just hope the Polish dubbing delivers like the original, which has a legendary status in my country.

It looks great at all. Similar to the original in general, but with many great details (shadowbeasts on the castle, I love them and they fit to heavy guard's armor!). Design of armors is exactly on point. Very similar, but refreshed.
The only problem for me is too bright lighting. I'd love to see dark sky covered by clouds and more gloomy, autumnal vibe :)
@@5chneemensch138 There doesn't seem to be much metal on the one shadow armor seen in this trailer. The heavily armoured guy in the video was clearly a guard.
@@5chneemensch138 I'm pretty sure shadow's armors here are made of leather. We can see some metal elements on armlet and bracer in 1:25, but these are only small elements. In original game the heavy shadow armor also has chainmail and metal elements on the gloves or boots.
It's much better than the playable teaser when it comes to color and lighting, i think it looks fine. What I would love to see how the Barrier looks when something passes through. I loved to simple sit in the camp especially at night and watch the barrier light up.
Anyone who claims that the world in the remake trailer is too bright has probably forgotten that Gothic I was more colorful than Gothic II. So the sky was not cloudy at the old camp and also in the new camp.
I hope they keep the blue sky, the brown world colours itself are great but if the sky would be grey only, it would be too depressing 😅
What an atmosphere, it looks splendid! Can't wait for the release date announcement. Also, THQ Nordic is slaying it these days with the Gothic Classic release and the Titan Quest 2 announcement. Great job guys!

It seems to me that when fans talked about the atmosphere of the original game, they were not referring to the yellow filter, but to the more gloomy weather. Now, I feel like I'm back in the era of brown games.

I don't get why there are only praises for this trailer. Lighting is fked, voices sounds like from the stock libraries, some of the "cinematography" screams mobile games ads, character models look like generic human models from cheap horror games on unity.

I'm a bit skeptical myself, considering German is the original language of the original game, and in the remake English will probably be the original and German just a localization.

Хочется переосмысления игры, в том числе и с углублением лора. То, что было достаточным 20 лет назад, сейчас таковым не кажется. А тут уже разрабов понесет куда они придумают. Недовольные в любом случае будут

Yeah dont get too exited , OG Gothic was awesome when it came out , I have ply it first time sometimes in end of 2002 when was free game in Polish magazine play , that game was so good open world , great quests freedom of getting to missions , you dont need to charge enemy and repeat mission several times like in Baldurs Gate 2 , but you could bate at stat of the game high level orct to one of the camps and let guards suffer your greed ... as I did take to loot later on ... but as I played it on Duron 800mhz , 128mb sd ram & GeForce 2 mx 400 64mb game looked terrible in compare to Neverwinter Nights ... and about Gothic I am worried that tiny world was great then , but since then , 22 years have passed and world saw many epic aRPG games with large rich worlds , and company that make that remake is from Spain , I bet they will add something from them , and that can breake immersion, as that game was made by German company with German thoughts , and as I am Polish I know that Poles & Germans have 3 thing that have same taste , Food , Cars & computer games , Spaniards might have diffrent ideas , and that worry , me of course I will try game , but only after some reviews that will say is worth it , otherwise I rather have my good old memories from original Gothic.
They focused on what we all did: become a thief in just one second just as we get in old camp. I like what I see, finger crossed for final release

I also got a vibe of Guy Ritchie movies with that British accent:
-British Accent - check.
-World of Crime - check.
-Camera follows the GG like in the noughties clips - check.
-The story of a thief who ends up with big ass problem - check.

It all looks cool, the atmosphere of the Old Camp is definetely here, but I'm kinda worried that after all this time we still didn't see the gameplay, nor did we receive any info regarding the release date. I respect that THQ gives devs time and don't put the preasure by forcing them to release the game in some unachievable deadlines, but still, it's been 4 years since the Playable Teaser, it would be cool at least to know that the remake is coming up next year.

@@Volvox323 OK, I might have put it wrong. My point was, the game was officialy announced back on 2019, with the playable teaser. Usually, after this period of time we can at least ecpect some info regarding the release date, even if it is distant. Here we have nothing. Even if the teaser said 2025, that would be fair for me.
@@PanWojdys Patience, my friend 🙂This teaser gives a good feeling. They won't kill the project at that point.
It will take some time. Around Gamescom 2022 they said that its still a long way and they were still working on remaking the old camp and recreating all of the npcs with their daily life and routines. So this teaser is probably telling us that the old camp is done / finished now. Which means its still a lot of work because of all the other stuff. They also want to add some of the smaller or bigger things, that werent used in the original. So they are doing their best to recreate everything from scratch while keeping the original vibe but that means that we have to be very patient. This is still made by a smaller brand new AA EU team. Its probably gonna be a 2025 release.

The Old Camp looks really frightening, just as it should be. For a moment I thought I would never ever want to land in such a place. Alkimia, you've got me! Well, I think it's going to give Gothic popularity it deserves. Looks really great.

I personally would make Snaf a bit more fat/broad whatever. He had really big arms. Also should be a bit more chill.

It's too sunny for being a Gothic-1. The Sun destroys an atmosphere of the endless overcast under the magic dome, destroys the atmosphere of hopelessness in the prison. Please make it overcast!

the sky was not cloudy at the old camp and also in the new camp in the original Gothic I. It was in Gothic II when the whole valley was dark and grey.
