Heya David. Congrats on your El Choco! Hope it roots in no time. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks! Receiving the love. 😊
Great content as always Niche. It really seems like you've got the care down for the El Choco now and it shows with the growth you're getting. I bet it'll look ace on a moss pole! Keep going 👍

Thank you Josh. Yea the moss pole is the next and final step I think. Then it can grow to its hearts content. :)
Great video. Can’t deny moss have great results but I still prefer perlite just because I get so stressed over untangling the roots lol. Ok this may be a stupid question but, why are the roots red? It was great because you could differentiate the roots from the moss.

Thank you. Yea perlite is soo much easier but moss never disappoints lol. I'm not sure why the roots are red, the same is for the PPP but I love it. Definitely helps in identifying what is moss and what's roots!
they are gorgeous! How's the mother plant doing? I think you left it with 2 leaves or so 😳

Thank you. Mother plant is doing well. She recently given me a nice new big leaf. The smaller leaf / growth point is still small and I think the plant is just pushing all its energy to the higher node which makes sense.
Can I pick your brain? I just imported two of these and the roots are all rotted. It is a pretty hefty stem, I’ve decided to go with moss. How often do you have to water it? Or do you take it out every so often rehydrate and squeeze the excess water and put it back in? Hope the question makes sense!! Thanks of you get the time to reply! Love your videos

Hi Kirstin, yea sure. Moss is a good option, I also sometimes mix it with a little perlite to keep it more aerated even when watering. I usually water my moss when it feels damp/ dry but more on the dry side. Also when I water I will water sparingly / lightly so when I see a few drops at the bottom of the container if it's a clear pot or a few drops out of the drainage hole I stop. I do not drench it all, well not the majority of the time. If you do over water you can fluff it up but I don't uproot the plant every time I water it. Hope that helps.
I also have fuzzy roots! I’m not sure why some are furry and others aren’t though...

I'm starting to think the fuzzy rooms are absorbing more moisture and those that aren't fuzzy are taking up direct nutrients but that's only a thought not based on fact at the mo.
I think it’s hard to compare which is faster if they are different sizes

That is true which is why I wasn't really it doing if for speed of growth but to see if there was any difference in the type or root produced. Eg. If a particular substrate would produce stronger / finer roots. But both works well. 🙂
I just love the el Choco Red - what stunning plants! 💖 Niché, you've done so well with this beauty. Thank you for sharing with us.
Yea the Choco is so beautiful at every stage. Especially when the light hits it, it's gorgeous. Aww thank you. :) Happy to share as always.

How was the mother plant?
Heya the mother plant was okay. She got back to focusing on pushing out another growth point. I still have her!
