I understand your frustration, I think it’s best when you get in these situations to step back. Even for a couple of days. Regardless of a rebuild title. Those cars are timeless. Just relax you’re very talented with these cars. It’ll all come to a head

I have the greddy PE exhaust as well and love the sound. The smoke could be from residue on the hot exhaust piping.
Smell has me thinking gaskets. I was just being dramatic🙂

Ahhhhh, the joys of working on a VG. Been there done that, check your coolant hoses behind the plenum if you have any. Other than that it may be a leak on one of the valve covers.. Hopefully you won’t have to part it out.
I think it was the new exhaust gaskets I was just being over the top😆

The seat belt thing confuses me. I have three 1990 NAs that all have the seatbelt on the pillar. Some people say early models have it on the door and some people say late models have it on the door. I have no idea… lol
So 1990-93 have door mounted belts from factory. You can convert them to chassis mounted if you have the interiors to swap.
Any tuner worth using can tune it on 93. It just won’t make huge power. Tune it on both. Having it e85 only is a huge issue
With a standalone they definitely could! However that's not always practical for a first time builder.
In chip tune form you're limited to about 7psi and the difficulty is being able to keep it at 7 and not blow it up :(
Going through the same issue right now, with the smoke from the turbo I just put it all together and it seems I’ll have to take the engine back out, I’m doing this on a concrete floor in 100 degrees with no garage lol I’d suggest sticking to one car

Cade, would you ship to New Zealand? Im trying to find a good (non bent) set of door to window trims. The long bits that sit ontop of the door, against the glass.
I'm not opposed to shipping out of the US.
However ill have to see if I can find a good set of mouldings. Alot of mine are cracked or tearing by the spot on the glass that holds the window roller :(
that is a low pressure line, just replace it with braided line.

whats up caden any tips on how you would check a tt engine if it were on a engine stand ? trying to buy one but scared to take the guys word for it
There's alot of unknowns there. Id drain oil/cut open oil filter and check the filter for glitter or contaminates.
A leak down test could tell the health of it better than a compression test, however I'm not too educated with those as I don't have a compressor.
I don't have ig mate but am after all trim round windows and over roof
I've probably got a set i can put together. They would likely need a refinish being used units.
