No octopus for me. I once took care of an octopus in a public aquarium. They are extremely intelligent and friendly. This particular one loved to be rubbed between the eyes! He had toys to keep him occupied and was very adept at removing and replacing a screw-on top on a jar.
The houses in the background are lovely! I noticed the tiled Japanese style roof. And the shoji screen when you were eating breakfast. There is so much to learn and so much to see around the world. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
By far my favourite Spanish dish are Croquettes. Also I took a stone with me from Scotland and carried it to Fisterra where I threw it into the sea with (I hope) all my troubles.
I am on Camino del Norte, today I am in Ribadisella, about half of the way. During the first days, in Basque country and parts of Ca ntabria I ate Pintxos almost every day, but in Asturia there is no tradition of Pintxos and Tapas, and sometimes it is difficult to find some kind of small and affordable meal, and there is no dinner before 8 or 8 30. In the morning I mostly eat tortilla as second breakfast.
Yes, every region has its own specialty and is more or less affordable! They also eat really late, you have to adjust somehow, but that is also the beauty of it 😊 it always keeps new!
For me as a Portuguese, to eat at any time of the day it would have to be tortilla for sure. It tastes GREAT, and it is a great source of carbs and protein. When i do the bigger meal of the day while on the camino, for me that would be dinner, i also love pulpo á feira, pementos padrón, enpanadas, calamares and many others. Only thing i would say is that many dishes available on the camino are fried, which is not the healthiest of options, but hey they sure taste great!
Strangely the fried things always are so tasty, Interesting! Definitely, talking about Camino is tallying about food, and on Camino Portuguese we had sooooo amazing local dishes, thanks pedro
I'm going in March/April and starting in the South on the Camino Mozarabe so I'm most looking forward to eating pan con tomate whilst the tomatoes are in season.
Hello guys. I really enjoy your content. Last year in my French Camino experience my favorite food was tortillas with spinach and for sweet rice with milk and cinnamon. I really enjoy the small madalenas as well. Thank you again for bring me back some nostalgia from the Camino. Kind Regards from Crete.
Tortillas Croquetas Tapas & Pinchos Pimientos del Padron Polpa de Galicia 👋🏽 happy days😋 When I arrived at Santiago I recommend you to visit the Mercado de Abastos 🤙🏽 if you ❤ food amazing gnamming experience I usually buy my breakfast day before sumo , bread , fruits ( the shop close on Sunday and Wednesday ) so be ready , if I don’t have eat my breakfast , the first bar I encountered I stop and do it 💪🏽
Hello guys! I really enjoyed watching this. I'm excited to try the croquettes! I'm sure I wouldn't want to share them either like Erica! But I'm most curious to try the octopus. I've had it a few times in the States but kind of rubbery. Everyone says it's amazing in Spain. For water I'm thinking of bringing a 2 liter Camelback and also a small collapsable bottle for mixing electrolyte tablets. Can those tablets be easily purchased along the way?
Hello Marcia!! You will find the tablets easily, don't worry! Enjoy the food, octopus in Galicia is not rubbery, these Galician know their stuff 🤣 Buen Camino!
This video made me laugh and cry. I'm preparing to head to Burgos in just 2 weeks to pick up on the Camino where I left off (in 2019). Y estoy de acuerdo con Erika: no me gusta a compartir las croquetas!
You know, you can have the best of both hydration systems - bottles with a sipping hose. Keep your bottles of water in the side pockets of your backpack and connect a sipping hose - Listo!!
Couldn't believe the amount of white bread, croissants and unhealthy pastries that you are confronted with on the French Way.... caffeine addicts all around you too! Cook your own food as often as you can. The El Camino is a great time to try an illimination diet. Improve your lifestyle, improve your life.
why do people end the segment by putting their hand over the camera lens? I think its exceptionally RUDE, I hate it. You wouldnt do it without a camera lens between us and if you did, i would feel so disrespected that i would never converse with you again.

Great tip! We will look into it!
I don’t share my croquets either … lol
😝
Im carnivore. I can not eat ANY carbs. I am worried about not being able to find enough animal based foods that are affordable.
Hey Judy, thanks for your comment: look for the dish called COCIDO MARAGATO! I think Spain has loads of meat options for any budget!
Wow - so happy now, thanks@@caminotellers
I think that for a non standard diet, we will have to cook a lot of our own food.
@@thisorthat7626 I am without a stomach and have to eat 7 times a day. i need lots of protein . i loved octopus
