50 years ago, Wolverine debuted in Marvel Comics from an appearance with The Incredible Hulk to a newly recruited member with the X--Men. But in 1982, his first-ever solo series by Frank Miller (300, Sin City) and Chris Claremont (1970s X-Men) defined the character of Logan. His story was set in Japan and Logan's life was likened to that of an Ronin (samurai with no master). He has the heart to stand against opposition, but is still learning/finding a direction in life. The film uses elements from the solo series and is set long after the events of X3:The Last Stand. This is Hugh Jackman's 2nd film with director James Mangold following the romantic comedy, Kate & Leopold (2001). Struggling with Jean's death, finding his place in the world and losing his healing temporarily is the most drama. I knew that the Wolverine cowl was officially a deleted scene but it’s crazy how you can see the suit case still being handed to her in the background in the Final Cut.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...the fact that Wolverine is the only character from X-men 1 to Logan that actually experienced and remembers everything is what makes his character so tragic (Amongst other things in his past of course). IMO.
Tara, the bear being shot with a poison arrow had nothing to do with the Viper poison tipped arrow, which is a more potent poison since she is a chemistry expert.
Epic Rap Battles of History actually pit Wolverine and Freddy Krueger against each other and it was dope😄. But, that’s their only actual face off that I know of… Unless Death Battle pit them against each other too👀🤣
The extended/uncut version of this film is waaay better than the theatrical version. A great comic book movie. In the comics, Wolverine has a whole love story in Japan. And it involves the yakuza. That part of him being shot by arrows is lifted right out of the pages of Wolverine. Great geeky stuff. My only negative is their take on Silver Samurai. His much more layered in the comics. Not just some sort of automoton. Loved your reaction!
This shows all the hacks of a healing factor in real time because Logan tried to fight Yashida with that book still in his chest, he would’ve got cut to ribbons. I see it right now. It is crazy.
You could easily argue his ability isn’t completely gone since Viper talks about making Logan weaker rather than completely losing his ability altogether
I had to put my dog down yesterday after she suddenly got sick out of nowhere.. & I am in a terrible place mentally & thankful you guys posted , needed stuff to take my mind off things.
Also just as a fan if this era of the comics is dope. Its where logan actually mastered the sword learned honor and regain his humanity after some typically Logan stuff- trauma memory wipe the like- which he later passed on to some of the xmen namely Rouge and Kitty Pryde-who walks through walls in xmen last stand-. Such a rich story to pull from
I remember liking this movie when it first came out but it ages real well IMO after DOFP, Logan & D&W...seems to have laid the groundwork for how great the future movies will be 😃👍🏾👌🏾🫡 I never had a problem w/the Silver Samauri (he was selfish & corrupt from the start + Logan had to get over Jean) & the opening scene is one of the Best in the genre IMO 💯
I hate that they never introduced daken. This story is the conception of daken and the first Wolverine only storyline. They could’ve done so much with him
Fun fact: in the scene where Wolverine meets older Yashida in the medical room, the weird looking machine to the right with a hose and attached to a "plunger" is called an oscillator. I don't think we use that machine anymore but it sounds like a washing machine when its on!
I remember when I saw this in the theater.I bought a tummy.Candy went by myself and then when Hugh Jackman took his shirt off.I leaned over to the person next to me and I told them I regret the skittles
Hiroyuki Sanada vs. The Wolverine the battle at the house my favorite character (s) driven battle. The lines with "What kind of Monster are you?" and Logan saying "The Wolverine" brought it full circle.

People are so critical when these are released. But they become classics anyway. I love these movies.
Tara, the bear being shot with a poison arrow had nothing to do with the Viper poison tipped arrow, which is a more potent poison since she is a chemistry expert.
Gotta say I definitely don’t remember a ninja getting thrown through a snowblower😂
I love the extended version of the Wolverine one of the best X-Men movies
How'd you know there was a pool down there ?!
I didnt
😅😅
Very similar to the scene in *Diamond are Forever*
The actress playing Yukio, Rila Fukushima, was Katana on Arrow.
Epic Rap Battles of History actually pit Wolverine and Freddy Krueger against each other and it was dope😄. But, that’s their only actual face off that I know of…
Unless Death Battle pit them against each other too👀🤣
i love Yukio
"hi wade!"
"hi yukio!"
Love the energy!! Perfect to wake up with as I am heading into work
42:53 - 1.6 kilometers is equal to 1 mile, so 500 kilometers is about 310 miles
This Yukio is the same Yukio as in Deadpool 2. And Yukio is right about how Logan dies. With his Heart in his Hand.
Great Reaction! This movie is underrated
If you have seen Logan yet.... just remember the line "I saw you die, holding your heart"
It's crazy how much of a step up this movie is from X-Men Origins: Wolverine in every way, including giving his backstory
Coming days of future past the best X-men film until now 2024. Greatness
@@ObsessiveGeek I’m just saying for any normal person yashida is landing death strikes
Awesome Video!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! Definitely Very Underrated and a Great Lead Up to Logan.
I had to put my dog down yesterday after she suddenly got sick out of nowhere.. & I am in a terrible place mentally & thankful you guys posted , needed stuff to take my mind off things.
46:41 Tara out of nowhere thinking this was an origin story is crazy
Very underrated
This reaction is damn entertaining. Tara about to cuss Andrew out for wearing socks with sandals 😂
Such a rich story to pull from
I remember liking this movie when it first came out but it ages real well IMO after DOFP, Logan & D&W...seems to have laid the groundwork for how great the future movies will be 😃👍🏾👌🏾🫡
I never had a problem w/the Silver Samauri (he was selfish & corrupt from the start + Logan had to get over Jean) & the opening scene is one of the Best in the genre IMO 💯
💯
When Deadpool & Wolverine goes digital, there's gonna be a million reactions, and I'm all for it
I was waiting for this reaction. I really enjoyed this movie!
Ok my brain just finally made a connection today, Yukio is freakin Yukio from Deadpool!! Mind blown!
This movie is soooo underrated! Cheers!!!
I've just noticed right now at 59:45 Yukio received the case containing the yellow suit
I hate that they never introduced daken. This story is the conception of daken and the first Wolverine only storyline. They could’ve done so much with him
Tara having a memory!? I thought I’d never see the day.
The marking the trees thing is what some bears use to mark they territory.logan was essentially marking over another bears territory.
When she said that he is holding his heart in his hands, in Logan, we get it why. That was the moment he could finaly rest
17:40 yes Tara you are!
I’m sure there is a label a bit higher that needs accessing 😜
Fun fact: in the scene where Wolverine meets older Yashida in the medical room, the weird looking machine to the right with a hose and attached to a "plunger" is called an oscillator. I don't think we use that machine anymore but it sounds like a washing machine when its on!
This is the best of Wolverine for me.
Next week: my favorite all-time X-Men story since X².
Pretty wild that he saves a man’s life and then lives long enough to sleep with the man’s adult granddaughter.
Remember the comment Yukio says about Logan holding his heart in his hands when you watch the film 'Logan'.
I remember going to the premiere of this back in 2013 just I will always have a special place in My Heart for this🎆 Hugh Jackman 🇯🇵👊
"Hi Yukio" 👋
3:31 holy shit you can hear the people in the village screaming
He does die with his heart in his hand in this movie and in Logan holding his "daughters" hand
This is so underrated
The Wolverine is marking his territory and cutting over the bears markings.
Days of future past the rogue cut is one of my favourites
One Of Favorite Wolverine Movies!😭🥹🥰🥷🦹🐺🖥💔
I remember when I saw this in the theater.I bought a tummy.Candy went by myself and then when Hugh Jackman took his shirt off.I leaned over to the person next to me and I told them I regret the skittles
Homie couldn’t even beat Hawkeye. You know he’s not beating Logan. lol
Good luck with *THE ROGUE CUT* of X-Men: Days of Future Past next Wednesday! I love *that* version of the movie.
Hiroyuki Sanada vs. The Wolverine the battle at the house my favorite character (s) driven battle. The lines with "What kind of Monster are you?" and Logan saying "The Wolverine" brought it full circle.
