This was one of his Dad’s favorite songs. His dad passed away from cancer in 2017. They were very close. His dad gave him the harmonica when he was 7. He said his dad used to walk around the house playing the harmonica when he was a kid. Listen to An American Trilogy that he recorded a few days after his dad’s funeral. Talk about emotional!!! His dad also loved Elvis.
This song was performed at my daddy's funeral in 1992. This would be the version I'd want at mine 😍

Dan is the man!! Never have I heard a more beautiful and masterful performance of this old timeless hymn! And I grew up in church. My father was a Pastor (still is at age 78!) I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have suggested this and heard it probably thousands of times throughout my lifetime. The harmonica gets me every single time because my beloved Granny played it beautifully. I want this version at my funeral!! Can't wait to sing with him in Heaven!! God bless you and all who hear it! I can't get enough of this song. I get chills every time, and I've listened to it at least a hundred times now. Some of the chills are from his amazing voice, but some are the Holy Spirit speaking to all of us through this song.

Daniel Vasconcelos aka Dan Vasc, has one of the best voices I've heard in a very very long time.
That last note he held for something like 24 seconds on one breath...that is one powerful set of airbags 🫁 in that glorious chest, mate... he's is such a stunning voice, it really does give you the chills...and of course, the rest of him ain't exactly hard to take either...😋
Some of his other stuff to listen to would have to be "Dr Stein", which is a Helloween cover, "Make A Man Out Of You" from the Mulan soundtrack, plus any of the music from The Witcher series. Also Dan does a couple of Evanescence covers too. With over 200 songs on his channel, you won't be at a loss for something to review 😁

@@LOL-Can I've listened and watched every thing on his channel, all the way back to the first video of a 19/20 year old Daniel recording his audition for DragonForce. He has come such a long way from then, vocally and emotionally, and the training he has put into his instrument definitely shows. He has matured into a beautifully well rounded vocalist. Even though I don't know him personally, I am very proud of what he has achieved. 🙂

Dude has a voice for anything. I love his version of Amazing Grace. He puts his soul into it. And from watching a lot of his songs and seems Christian from the songs he sings. If true or not I have no clue. Yet he usually wears a don't tread on me shirt.

This is my favourite version. Dan has an amazing vocal range and he covers many genres. He does "Hallelujah" where he sings all the voices, he does brilliant Witcher covers. He even sings Elvis!

I'm going to be 60 this year and when I heard it a little over two months, now I have to hear it every night before bed first of all because it's amazing grace and second of all because it's that special. I just watched your reaction again. You stopped the video so quickly and asked why you were already so deeply affected by just a line of two into the song. For me, after 13 months of following Dan's work, it is a result of Dan's many years of serious voice training and practicing to perfect his high standard of quality. Then there is his joy of singing and producing his own videos in his basement. Most of all for this beloved hymn, Dan is a Christian and talks about it in chats and you can see his reverence in his eyes and when he closes them, while he sings these holy lyrics. THAT is why you felt so much, just like his millions of followers did in this video. Thank you again. 🤗🙏
