This man is a legend. No one knows ammunition specs and hunting more. As a long time outdoor journalist he knows his stuff.👍

Thanks for sharing your decades of experience and wisdom, Ron. I tell my dad about you, usually every time I see him. He's about your age and he hunted from a fairly young age (with a .38-55 and then later, other rifles).

Unless you have a huge following, put your ideas toward print/online magazines, not UA-cam. Recently got $150 for 800 words in a regional fishing magazine.

I still like magazines. Thecweb is limited.
Paper magazines are timeless to me!
AND....I definitely have my favorite authors....
I know a few authors and I must say, I respect Journalists even more. It can be a tough business, and competitive.
I wish I could write as well as you and my other favorite authors.

Remember also that magazines are just like social media; they don't exist to put out the most useful content, they they exist to put out the most *engaging* content.

In the music industry, artists no longer make any money in records, so playing live is it. Executives floated a.i. music to replace the artists completely, so we're pushing to replace execs with a.i. since they have no talents.

Can we do that with politicians and bureaucrats, too?

@@RonSpomerOutdoors I don't think I'm over using the term 'Karen' but I'm using it a lot lately.

If you’re a good writer, you’re better off writing scripts for an internet media personality like a UA-camr to read off. Or create your own youtube channel, make educational entertainment vids/posts. Of course that takes cameras and editing skills, too, though.
If you really are good, you’ll be making more money than freelance writing almost guaranteed.

How should I clean a cerakote barrel?

Externally? Soapy water if you want. But a light oil might be better. Just wipe it off. Gunk will come with it. Then leave it dry. The Cerakote is the protection for the steel. Internally, treat the bore same as every other barrel. A light coating of oil protects against rust year round. Before you shoot/hunt, though, push a dry patch through to remove excess oil. And never get oil/grease in the chamber. That makes the case slip and increases back pressure on the bolt and locking lugs.
