We just went to see ‘Dreams of Fleetwood Mac’, I’m 64 years old, it’s the first time I’ve ever left after the end of the first half. Dreadful sound balance, singing out of key, the guitar player made so many mistakes it was embarrassing, the drum sound mix was just awful, you couldn’t hear the kick drum at all. The introductions were so lack lustre it sounded like they just couldn’t be bothered 😕🏴🇬🇧🙏
Awe Denis thanks for including The Bjorn Identity as your favourite ABBA show. We know there are many great acts to choose. Hope to see you at a show soon!
There are many who dismiss tribute bands and wouldn’t go to see them. I on the other hand appreciate them for what they do, keep the music live and make it accessible. I saw Brit Floyd a few years ago at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, they were excellent. I have also seen other tribute bands not listed here who were equally good.
Australian Pink Floyd are absolutely amazing and I say there both as good as each other. Witnessed both and I have to say I prefer APF with there production and quality but Brit Floyd are just as special. Awesome 🙌
Special mention for The Musical Box who replicate the early Genesis concerts of the Peter Gabriel era. Using original props donated to them by Genesis, the concert experience is so spot on one would think that had been transported back in time
Great list, this. I believe that once you've seen a really good tribute, that experience stays with you.... Especially if you bring home the obligatory cd, dvd, or t-shirt. Rumours are amazing (3 times), not seen Brit Floyd, but the light show looks stunning. Think Floyd are fabulous, met them 3 times after their shows, very humble and accurate performances. One tribute that needs a mention... The Illegal Eagles. Seen them 3 times, they have always been brilliant... Nice post 👍
Agree with the list. I’ve seen many of these acts ‘ they are tremendous. Another vote for T-Rextacy they are brilliant. Plus, if you get chance, can highly recommend the following:- ColdPlace The Fillers Oye Santana Counterfeit Stones Logical Tramp Who’s Who
Oh yes. This collection of tribute bands is so good. I enjoyed them all. I have come across a few other ones myself. For ABBA, Bjorn Again, 1998 ,Royal Albert Hall, take some beating. And ,a guy called Stevie Ricks for Elvis, ( The Impossible Dream etc) Plus, my favourite Beatles tribute, The Fab Four, imo, are superb. But the Bootleg Beatles are SO good too.
I agree have seen these twice the looks the mannerisms, the banter and more importantly the sound is exactly what I would expect the Beatles live to be like.
I have seen both Rumours: Fleetwood Mac Tribute at the Concourse in Knoxville, Tennessee and Brit Floyd at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee and I will have to say that those are two of the best tribute bands that I have seen. I have also seen The Pink Floyd Experience at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, Tennessee about 15 years ago I think 2007 or 2008 and Australian Pink Floyd Show at the Fox Theatre in like 2007 and those were great tribute bands. I also have seen two Journey Tribute Bands that I am a huge fan of now.... Departure and Resurrection both great Tribute Bands. I saw Departure at the Shed in late September or early October of 2021 and I saw Resurrection at Cotton Eyed Joe in like 2019! I'm going to see a Queen Tribute called Kings of Queen on April 29th, 2022 at the Open Chord in Knoxville, Tennessee and For Those About to Rock: AC/DC Tribute on May 13th, 2022 at the Open Chord in Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm also going to see Big Gun AC/DC Tribute tonight, April 2nd, 2022 at the Shed in Maryville, Tennessee, Kid Kentucky: Kid Rock Tribute on April 23rd, 2022 at the Shed in Maryville, Tennessee, and Tuesday's Gone: Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute on April 30th, 2022 at the Shed in Maryville, Tennessee. I'm also going to see Hotel California: A Tribute to the Eagles on April 9th, 2022 at the Knoxville Auditorium in Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm also thinking about going to see On The Border: A Tribute to the Eagles on May 6th, 2022 at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee, Jim Curry: A Tribute to John Denver on September 23rd, 2022 at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee, and Fleetwood Gold: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac on October 7th, 2022 at the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center in Townsend, Tennessee. You are right, though, that Brit Floyd and Rumours of Fleetwood Mac are two of the best Tribute Bands around!
Massive Floyd fan, have seen Aussie Pink Floyd at Leeds Arena and they were amazing, will have to try catch Brit Floyd next time, although Dave Gilmour had Aussie Floyd play at his 50th and said they were probably better than us.
The Floyd Effect, Livewire AC/DC, UK Foo Fighters, Limehouse Lizzy, all most excellent bands, but have to agree RFM / Brit Floyd are for up there for me
Saw Bootleg Beatles in 2019, they used a photo from an early Manchester gig, the 72 year old lady sitting next to us was on the photo, she was 16 at the time! Awesome!
There is probably not a lot to choose between the top two. Both put on a superb show, but since I prefer FWM, I would have to go with RFM. However, I think Paul Metcalfe rates higher.
Hi Brian, Thanks for your comments.. as I said in my video, these ten tribute artists are all first class and give a great nights entertainment. Everybody will have their own idea of placement.. Cheers
My local club has regular tribute bands Absolute Bowie. Bootleg Blondie, The Feelgood Band, Small Fakers, Limehouse Lizzie seen loads of tribute bands some really very very good the standard these days is usually very high. Years back they were seen almost more like parodies but in the last 20 or so years it’s become a serious thing as audiences expect a top show.
I have a few I would recommend... Not come across Brit Floyd in our part of the world... I see Think Floyd every time they tour, they sound very precise. Bootleg Blondie is pretty good, their Debbie Harry is Shani Wallis' daughter (Nancy from Oliver!) and they look and sound the part. As for the Number one Tribute.... Go to youtube and look for The Classic Rock Show. Its a sister band to Rumours of Fleetwood Mac. As in they tour different times of the year, but use the same stage set and screens. Jess who is RFM's Stevie Nicks also sings in CRS and the last two tours have included Pete Thorn on Guitar, great guitarist from LA who is a Guitarist's Guitar channel maker on UA-cam... watch the video of him playing Van Halen's Eruption and your jaw will drop. Highly recommended. But I love a good tribute!
Brit Floyd, The Classic Rock Show and Rumours of Fleetwood all belong to the same stable i.e. CMP Entertainment. Emily Gervers who plays Christine McVie in Rumours of Fleetwood Mac was also a member of Brit Floyd and the Classic Rock Show There has been various line ups over the years but without a doubt they are three of the best touring bands out there all having superb musicians and have been for some time. Yes Pete Thorn is right up there but so was Howie G before him and James Cole is also top notch as are all the guitarists accross in the different bands . I fully accept that everyone has their own personal favourites however the quality of musicianship and performance that exists across all the above bands is at another level which in turn is supported by their ever increasing popularity and long may it continue. At te end of the day if it makes you feel better then it is good.. Rock on
Yes, Liliac isn’t actually a tribute band, they’re a band that does some covers, especially anything Ronnie James Dio. That is because the lead singer, Melody, was mostly influenced by Dio and she does sound like a female version of Dio. They’re all siblings and every one of them are super talented, especially Melody, who is really their gold. She is the star. Besides doing covers, they have released a couple of albums of original songs they’ve written. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a family band as talented as they are?
Bootleg Beatles....one of the best, most musically accurate tribute bands there is. If you get the chance to see them do yourself a favour and do so you won't be disappointed
cant disagree with most of the list,,,,except,my opinion,,,the best tribute band ever is THE FAB FOUR! the look and sound exactly like the originals! from the early days till the very end, they are the closest thing you will ever get to the real Beatles in their prime!
Good list though I think Lenoid and Friends should have been at least #2 for "Chicago" Rumors of Fleet Mac. you only played one song everyone else had at least two. LEONID AND FRIENDS MUST BE IN THERE
I posted this, then saw your post. I heartily agree. The singer , Serge, is in Kyev now. Stupid war. "Check out 'Leonid and Friends'. These are stellar musicians from Russia AND Ukraine that were brought together by a top studio engineer and musician (Leonid). They play Chicago songs better than Chicago. I know...bold statement. (They also do E,W & F pretty great too.) But just check them out (and their unique history and how they are dealing with this horrible war.) They are amazing. ua-cam.com/video/EW3Aftwt5eY/v-deo.html "
You need to check out Mr. Speed who is a KISS tribute band that is spot on in everyway, And as far as an ELVIS tribute please check out Shawn Klush he is as spot on as you can get. . . . . . .I can post links if needed. . . . . . .
If you make a living from being a tribute or copycat of any artist, I don't think age comes in to it.. I think "Tribute" is a nicer term instead of "CopyCat"...Any I have saw over the past number of years have been very talented musicians. Not everybody with talent gets fame and fortune. Thanks for your comment...
Not being in anyway negative on tribute bands but there is only one outstanding tribute band and that is Rumours of Fleetwood Mac they are outstanding.
Hi. Never heard of them. As a Camel fan, (though mainly the first 4 amazing albums), can I ask where they have performed ? I'm guessing somewhere around Canterbury 🤔... ❤️🐪🎵... Cheers.
@@denphillips3402 Hi Den. I believe they are from Israel and play gigs in mainland Europe, but I don't know if they've toured the UK. I recently joined their mailing list and have asked them to consider coming over here. You should check them out on their website and on youtube. I think you'll be impressed. x
@@NIGHTFRIGHT2011 Hi. Thank you for your prompt response. I'll try to find them and check them out. I'm completely bowled over particularly with Mirage & Moonmadness, The Snowgoose is right up there with Tubular Bells, Ommadawn and a lesser known Lord of the Rings (Bo Hansson) it's sublime. The self titled debut is right up there with the best debut albums. You have a great taste in music 👍
@@denphillips3402 You're welcome. We Camel fans must stick together. I think I've got every CD and DVD that they've released and have seen them live several times. Got to meet Andrew Latimer after a memorable gig in Glasgow many years ago. He is still one of my favourite guitarists, and it bugs me when I see his name omitted from top guitarist polls. Would encourage you to check out more of their back catalogue if you haven't already,
@@NIGHTFRIGHT2011 I saw them in October 2018 (the Moonmadness tour) that is where it became a joint favourite with Mirage. I really tried with Rain Dances and Breathless, but it just wasn't happening ... I genuinely believe that the sacking of Doug Ferguson was their prog undoing they have always been good, just rarely great. A couple of highlights on Stationary Traveller, First Light, Echoes and Ice are right up there, I do quite like a lot of Harbour of Tears, this is the closest I've felt to their original roots. ❤️🐪🎵. 👍
I think potentially tribute bands might be more popular as the original bands die off or retire because there will be generations that get turned on two bands that they like that they won't be able to see now it's not going to be as huge as the original but if the originals were big enough then it'll transfer over a little and musicians will be able to make an okay live and maybe by doing that but you got a really have your s*** together and do it right if it's going to be alright but tribute bands that play while the original act is still out and touring and doing their thing is pretty f****** weird. And really cheesy if it's not real good and even if it's real good I don't know. I've seen a couple that were pretty mind-blowing what are the best ones I've seen and I don't mean in person cuz live music pastor really be something to impress me cuz I'm a musician been there done that. I saw the Aeromyth band on UA-cam and that Steven Tyler guy was pretty freaking good as was the band and they all kind of cop the look and like I said the Tyler character had every part of it very very well. the escape journey tribute the singer did Perry pretty darn good sometimes he was a little over the top with the classic Perry phrasing but still pretty damn good. I wonder what the original acts think when they see that? I assume there flattered but I'm sure they think it's weird and then of course if they're not getting paid for it there slightly if not greatly pissed!
Maybe the choice of clip was a poor one but 'Flash Harry' sounded average in terms of their ability to mimic Queen [particulalry the singer] have you never heard Mark Martel?
Have seen Brit Floyd twice..would pay to see them over and over again
Aussie Pink Floyd are better… trust me. They are note perfect
Seen them 6 times, everytime they improve if that's possible, perfect recreation of classic tunes
Good compilation. Having seen them in person, Rumors of Fleetwood Mac is far an away the best I have heard

The counterfeit stones are class. Seen loads over the years, Jean Genie, Dirty DC, Fleetwood Bac, Just Floyd are probably my favourites.
Good list of Tribute Band.I have seen Rumors of Fleetwood Mac and they were amazing but I think the line up was differant.
Limehouse Lizzy (Thin Lizzy) tribute, always put on a good show, James Roberts on lead guitarist is amazing.

It’s Liliac if you’re referring to the kids group that does hard rock, heavy metal covers like Black Sabboth, Dio and others.

Nice video. Update date it and add another 10. I want you yo check out KICKS THE INXS Experience Tribute band.
Ralph thanks for watching. This list of bands , is that I have personally saw live.....
Brit floyd
Maybe the choice of clip was a poor one but 'Flash Harry' sounded average in terms of their ability to mimic Queen [particulalry the singer] have you never heard Mark Martel?
Check out The Illegal Eagles
I was surprised there's no eagles tribute on the list.
Pam, thanks for watching. This list is based on bands that I have actually been to see "Live". So have not saw an Eagles Tribute yet......
