    This is an awful analysis. From someone who's used devices like the pixel 8, OnePlus 11, and the Xperia 5 Iv yet still returns to the 4 year old v60. The Dac is absolutely incredible, and has been since it's genesis. The SD card slot is incredibly useful and versatile. The Manual Camera flexibility and creative range is and has been ahead of it's time. All the stuff I just listed are things that have actual real world usefulness. I'd much rather have an incredible audio experience than a refresh rate bump that's noticable but doesn't necessarily add value. The SD allows for interchangeable memory expansion without having to invest in a core storage increase. The Manual Camera controls were so far ahead of the curve that other manufacturers are just now adding it's utility.

      That is so true. And don't forget. Lg pioneered many of the game changing technologies that phones use today. It's a shame they don't make phones today since they pushed phone giants like Samsung and Apple to do better. Now both offer you phones at astronomical prices that do what LG did years ago.

    Wow. Heavy Quad DAC User Here.(also using the V20) . Anyone who Knows how to set these up (and pretty much any V series LG Device) Knows The ESS Quad DAC is Far Far from a Gimmick.
    Poweramp Player along with Sony MDR's and Soundmagic E80c might give You a better impression.
    Make sure your headphones are above 50 ohms if You want to hear that Baby kick in.
    Also if You know how to set up a parametric equalizer, give that a try.

      If You're not planning to ever use it on a network then I would go with The V20. It's a smaller form factor and It's the most versatile of the two.
      Not only does it have a removable battery, but also an IR blaster which I still find pretty handy. The camera is pretty decent. It also tells You what output mode it's in depending on the impedance being used. Anything over 50 ohms kicks in the High DAC (Amplifier). This I recommend. Sony MDR's work very well, and of course My favorite, Soundmagic E80C's.
      Extended batteries are also available. I have a couple 10800 mAh that will go a week of just using the headphone jack.
      Also, I recommend the B&O tuned V20 but they all sound awesome.
      My H918 T-Mobile B&O V20 still roams the network on weekends without issue. It's hard to believe I'm still using a 7 year old phone sometimes.
      The V60 does offer dual stereo speakers with a 3D engine that sounds pretty awesome when watching movies or other types of HQ video. It also offers a couple of DSP settings to shape the audio even further whilst using the headphone jack.

      @@TheRealFRILL Thank you for the response. Would you happen to have a link/name (not sure if you can post links in comments) for that extended battery that you use? Also since I haven't used android in awhile I have to ask this, is the v20 still able to access the play store just fine and any quirks/annoyances in general I should know about?

    This video is weird. It's like this guy never really used the phone for all its power. I have this phone. It's my main phone. I use the stylus, the dual screen, the 4k video, and they are still great features. All the folding phones are flawed since you get the crease and black spot of death. The LG v60 as a phone is still very versatile but obviously too much for you as your mind is still tuned to single screen options. The V60 is dated by today's standards but it still out performs many contemporary phones. I love my V60. I have had Samsung phones and Motorola razr's and the like and all the screens did the same thing. They get the crease, then the digitizer stops working or gets wonky, then the black spot of death appears and it's game over. I've had my dual screen case for 4 years without issues. I use a wacom stylus with my V60 ($18 on eBay) and it works flawlessly. It even has pressure sensitivity. I draw with my v60, highlight images, send notations, animate. It's an all around device. I'm sorry it's too much phone for you but it is a lot of phone for its price. The quad dac isn't meant to be used with another dac. That should be a no brainer. My kz zs10 pro 2's sound better on this phone than the galaxy note 20 ultra I have so do my CCA rhapsodies. Maybe it's me. Either way, be blessed.

    I think you might have wanted to put some of the positives to the front end so people could understand that it wasn't just a bash session.
    At the end of the day, I ended up picking up this phone because it feels safe. I am in the market for a power user experience, and with the increase of ads and other interrupted experiences. I can use something else while it finishes (or block the ads) it seems to make sharing things easier, and having the dual screen experience be a choice is great. You can choose whether or not you want one or two screens to be in danger when you go out.
    I love technology, but we are definitely getting to a point where we have so much power and only one screen to use it, and fold screens are fragile (maybe not anymore) and if you plan to keep the device, good luck. But a little bit of it bothers me as the most we end up doing on phones is photo and video taking, watching videos and infinite scrolling, (some gaming too) yet a lot of people want to pay more for a phone than a computer...

    The quad dac is nice, but imo its not about the dac as much as it is about the amp. It can run phones up to 600ohms. Other phones top out at 50ohms. There is some serious power amplification there and the dack helps keep the noise down as the power draws higher. Thats the biggest reason I like the phone, I can drive my beyerdynamics on it. This makes it a great counter to having to spend 500$+ on a DAP that has the same power amplification.

    I got mine 2 years ago. For a phone that stopped being made over a year prior to when I got it, it received more updates and support than every other phone I have bought from any manufacture, let alone an Android version upgrade. I think every Motorola I have had only ever got a single post launch update, and usually only a security patch.

    The main thing not taken into context in this video...this can be had for less than $200, much less, but NO phone at that price range new comes close to the features and often even the specs (except for actual number of gigs of ram) except for maybe higher refresh rate on the display (60hz is soo slow, we've only been using it for like a century before a few years ago!) which is kind of a gimmick on a phone.
    These P-Oleds are mostly as good as Samsung's Amoleds, no major difference once you went oled, compared to any type of LCD (even the "good" type of LCD, IPS displays).
    I understand it won't compare to the latest Samsung, OnePlus or any other released like... yesterday! No one expects that now.
    It should be taken into account how buying renewed is often a great deal, so this phone is amazing if gotten in almost new condition (this will obviously become harder and harder as time passes).

    The Lenovo pen is like 25 usd and pretty great. Good for drawing, as well as pro app use. You can essentially use it to do convenient photo/video editing. The dual screen case is AMAZING. because you have a magnetic charger so you get no port wear, and it makes for a great stand in for Android auto. I have a dual launch set up for Spotify and maps so I press one button and I'm on my way. I can use it for gaming and have a custom controller available mapped to on screen tough, but with no extra plastic crap, though I liked the V500n version better. The loudspeaker is WILD, because when watching landscape videos at normal distance, you almost have binaural audio. The actual loudspeaker is the screen. The only limits on this phone are in the screen, which was downgraded from uhd, and should have been 120hz, though it's probably better for the battery life.

    The quad dac is useful to drive an over the ear headphone, not necessarily an IEM. With that said, my Truthear Hexa IEMs are a bit harder to drive than other IEMs. I also have a Zenfone 9 and I have to turn the volume up pretty high to get an acceptable volume with the Hexas. I'd be curious if the LG did the same thing

      Funny enough I have a Ugreen adapter which was pictured in here (32bit/384khz) that produces lower sound when compared to the Aux on the V60 and Zenfone 9. Not too smart when it comes to what is needed to make the audio sound loud, but all I do know is the Sony Xperia 1 I reviewed a couple years ago was terribly low lol. But to compare the V60 and Zenfone 9, I notice no difference when using something like the Moondrop Chu II

    And for whatever alot of people were expecting... It's something LG can add and improve if only they were still in the phone business .. it's rather unfortunate... There are those who still appreciate it due to that nostalgia feeling for LG users .. and to those new to it, can appreciate some of the usable functions ...the old phone is not trying to keep up with new phones from other companies since they no longer make phones anyways .. I won't judge LG for whatever they left unfinished...I hope that some day they would get back on the map and make improvements .... Some day...

    1. You forgot to mention that in basic camera mode you have an option for manual focus a feature that is not in my Galaxy S23 ultra.
    2. The always on display is hands down the best in the industry.
    3. There is no option to set up default text messages when declining a call. For example in the LG call UI you have the options to answer reject and to send a text reply.
    you did show you enabled the dac with head phones its not on by default. Maybe you were using shit head phones or didnt have it on because it makes a huge different between when its off and on.

    The DAC does make a difference but only when playing highe quality audio files. UA-cam, mp3, pandora, and spotify all compress their audio so the dac doesnt make a difference.
    Dual screen is just like having 2 monitors. Some people make good use out of it, some dont. Depends on the user.
    I enjoy being able to flip the video recording between the front & rear camera mid-video. The double tap to wake/sleep, and so forth.

      You must been looking too deeply in this. With the exception of some phones that were borrowed (from friends and family, not given to me from any company), every phone reviewed on this channel is purchased by myself with my money. Only things that were given to me for review have a disclaimer in the beginning, but even then I’m critical about those videos, where I tell the pros and cons. Ultimately, this is my review based on my usage. One major thing is that it was a pain to even get texting to work on this phone since it was a Verizon phone and I have T-Mobile. This doesn’t happen with most modern phones, but the reason I omit that from the review is because most people aren’t going to buy a Verizon version to use on a different carrier, even if that will work. I did review the phone for what it is lol 60hz feels slow now, that’s the fact of life. Sure you’re watching the video at 60hz, but the issue is when frame drops happen, we notice the difference from 1-60hz, while 60-120hz becomes harder to notice, as we generally see real at 45+ “frames per second”. The headset jack is useless to me because I don’t have any buds to use on that. Is it cool that it comes with the phone, sure, but it comes on the Motorola Edge+ (2020) as well, with the Quad DAC from the V60 being swapped out for the 90hz waterfall display on the Edge+ (2020). Same processor, but more RAM and 256gb built in with no sd slot. It is impossible to do a review without a comparison because what would make it better? Just buy the phone if you want it, but when you’re questioning whether you should spend the money on something, you look at the other products you can buy with that money. We watch old reviews for confirmation, while new reviews at launch are to learn about the product. This $700-$900 phone is now under $200, but so are a lot of other phones in its class.

      @@richardomwenga9176 that’s cool. You and many others try to act like this was a hit piece on a product and a company that isn’t being produced or serviced anymore. You and others take one phone and ignore that other 400+ videos I’ve made. It’s demeaning to defend my opinion, then sure I agree. Go ahead, join the 25% of people that dislike the phone. Absorb the energy I’m taking to respond to this because someone had an opposing opinion and you didn’t make it to the end of the video.

    It is not worth it unless you intend to use it as just a dap and have a newer phone with more software support, better camera and overall better experience. I dont see myslef using a phone like without feeling like i need somethin better and even if i would use it as dap i would get the smaller v50 or G8 series thats more pocket friendly since i would have two phones with me.

    I know you have nothing but biased opinions when you said the jack was bad. LG shouldn't have stopped making phones but iphone snobs ruined it. They tried everything to make a phone people would love, they tried to be unique and interesting.

    • @D-syncMonopoly
      @D-syncMonopoly Місяць тому

      @@RealWorldReview You can use context clues! So actually if you use a product as a daily driver you are biased no matter if you "trash it" or not. Calling one of the best jacks on a smartphone a gimmick is crazy. Calling any headphone jack a gimmick is crazy everyone knows wired is better than Bluetooth, even if just barely.

    • @RealWorldReview
      @RealWorldReview  Місяць тому

      @@D-syncMonopoly the gimmick is the dac that not a lot of people utilize. When people want headset jack phones, they don’t end up going to the LGs, unless they do actually care. Because yes, I understand that this is a better value over a device that has a similar dac, as I’d rather pay $200 for this than $1k+ for essentially an iPod with a good dac. But even in the video I showed that buying a USB C dac is possible, which is why I bought that specific one because it’s the closest to the dac built in the V60. So for a music machine, sure, good price. But for a phone with a headset jack and all the extras, I’d take a Zenfone or Xperia 1 series over the V60 (as we all should if price isn’t the deciding factor)

    • @D-syncMonopoly
      @D-syncMonopoly Місяць тому

      @@RealWorldReview Price is the deciding factor it always was and will always be. Also saying people didn't use a headphone jack is enough proof to throw out any relevance or credibility. They removed the headphone jack for greed. Phones are boring now, just because they can fold doesn't mean anything. Taking away features that someone will use every day or once a month is still cheap. You said it was a gimmick and your excuse is that "not everyone uses it." It's like when they stopped using physical home buttons for precious screen real estate. Apple is a catalyst for boring generic phones.
