Oh man, I played the hell outta this game on my Genesis. Definitely a must have if you owned a Genesis back in the day. I would of liked to see them play the Cave of Wonders stage and ragequit because it was too hard for them lol

Back in my day, we played with the lives of others!! We tortured them, confused them, and confined them to small spaces before they succumbed to a slow, painful death. The Sims was a really twisted game.

Ok so I know games on SNES and Genesis usually look different..... but this is like a completely different game on SNES, not just different looking graphics. That's kind of amazing.

Never played the Genesis version myself. I grew up on the Snes version. Very different, but I loved that game. Beat it so much I use to know it by heart.

Something interesting; Older games are harder because there was limited space on the cartridges, and the games weren't very long. The games were made more difficult to make them seem longer than they actually were.

+Jennie Hult I used to play "The Little Mermaid" game when I was little. It was my favorite game I played on the Genesis. But I think that was because it was the only one I could completely finish. "Saves" are something that is taken for granted these days.

No, they just sorta suck at the game. My younger siblings are younger than this and are still better.
Still not punishing. They were overeager to remove backtracking almost completely out of modern games and grind elements are (except for the souls series) almost everywhere.

the thing is that alot of the people that played aladdin when they were young are in their late 20s early 30s and still play games today.it would have to be an older generation of people to be confused by portal

Man kids these days are horrible at videogames. They're so used to just running past the cpu's and not fighting anything and for some reason they keep running into them like it doesnt hurt them or something. Jeez, and my generation played this game at half their age.

+kira0080 When i was 6-7yrs i played this game.....and it was called Ninja Gaiden, my sister and I (a year older) managed to get to chapter 11 before we couldn't go any further, i am now 16 and im hearing its one of the most difficult games ever xD

How can they be so awful at this? I played it back in the day when I was maybe five or six and made it through the first few levels...
they don't take their time to "analyze" the situation (don't take the apples, go straight forward on the ennemies, fell 2/3 times on the same easy "traps" ). What would they think of " the cavern", "the escape" and "inside the Lamp" levels....(sorry for my english, it's not my native language)
Their also not use to these kinda platform games. Most games that came out around this time were similar so we were use to the style of game play. I bet if we played thru it now we wouldn't get as far as we were when we were kids. Of course I can't speak for everyone!

I played this so much when I was a kid. The key to the sword guys is to knock his swords back at him by mashing your sword attack button. Also screw the, Inside Genies lamp level...
I loved that game played it when I was like 5 and never had an issue, so much fun. I think its cool all the neat things you can do, that are like just extra details like the apples being cut in half!

Oh man. I remember playing that in elementary school along with SimCity on the Apple computers we had at our school.
Aladdin is now available on Steam. I used to speed run through that game when I was younger. And remember picking it up from Blockbuster in the used games section. EBay, Amazon and GameStop didn't even exist. The game's soundtrack was helmed by Tommy Talarico who wasn't even in college back in the 90's.

lol, ah, this makes me feel old, and yet a little wiser. This was the only other game outside of Sonic that made me want a Sega over the SNES I had at the time.
Aladdin on the SNES is different but just as good.

I used to have a SNES version of this. I loved the flying carpet level.
Lol they are used to resting for 5 seconds to heal, checkpoints every 2 minutes and assisted magnetic jumping.

Oh the memories, this was one of my favorite games on Sega.
I remember playing this as a kid! I missed it so much that my brother got me a sega genesis and a few games like Aladdin, Sonic the Hedgehog, Lion King, Sonic Pinball, and Mortal Kombat for Christmas a few years back. Best. Gift. Ever.
