I love that you said that about the pink syngonium. We keep live plants at our medical office. The patients love them. The pink one does look brown sometimes and my staff immediately freaks out that it is dying. Can't have a medical clinic with dead plants! lol I appreciate your videos. I learn so much.
Nice video. I'm glad to see common houseplants getting loved on. I like syngoniums and spider plants but haven't done well with them. Agree with you on your choice between neon pothos and lemon lime philodendron. Thanks Stephanie🎉🪴
Just found your channel! I’m a Torontonian living in Spain. It wasn’t until I got here that I found my green thumb. Now I’m in love! I recently took a length of syngonium vine with no leaves from a cafe we go to all the time- with permission, of course- and I chopped it up and put it in spaghnum and now I have five perfect sprouts coming up. So easy! I also just bought an alocasia baby for €2.50 at a local florist in town. Not sure if it’s a pink dragon? Anyway, I put it in pon, and it’s sprouting three leaves at once! I’ve never seen that before. Looking forward to following your planty journey. ❤
👋🏽👋🏽Hi! Thank you for joining us. 😊 Syngoniums are amazing! Very good at growing multiple vines when chopped. Great idea! My Alocasia love semi hydro too. Could yours perhaps be flowering? One time I thought mine was pushing multiple leaves but it was a flower. 😊 Have fun with your new plant babies! 🪴🪴
The Shivereana is very different from the other rubber trees in my experience. I had a much harder time with that one. I have the regular one, the Burgundy, and the Tineke and a pitiful Shivereana 😂
@@luciansteph I also find the shiv quite temperamental. Whenever you change its position, the next set of leaves comes out mangled in some way. The burgundy creates the least amount of fuss in my collection.
Greetings Starting my collection over I would re buy peace lilies, philodendron red emerald, philodendron florida green, philodendron lime upright growing, ficus shirviana (grows at a slow but steady pace. Bright light for it's beautiful varigation), consider purchasing two if possible. I have one but I can imagine how outstanding this planter would grow into with it's marbled colored leaves. The leaves grow in dense and compact. I would also choose the orange bird of paradise, and the monstera deliciosa.
The tricolour and the princess are the exact same plant, I believe a large nursery decided to call it tricolour for marketing purposes and the name stuck around causing confusion for plenty of plant lovers 🙃 I'd rebuy the marble queen and neon pothos immediately! Love them!
Hi Stephanie! I would definitely repurchase my Hoya Princess, Queen and Chelsea. I would also replace my entire Scindapsus collection 🤭. I think I would also replace my Monstera Peru(love her) and for sure my Manjula Pothos if it only had to be 1 pothos. I have way too many pothos in all kinds of variegations …it’s embarrassing 🙈 . Oh and my Peperomia Hope! This is hard!!
My collection started with orchids and bromeliads from my mother in law. I would start again with orchids but not the bromeliads. I loved big leaf hoya to start but now I'm really enjoying my engleriana, serpens, and bella. And you have to love the publicalyx for it's speedy growth. For really common, I love the heart leaf philodendron. Such a easy grower and just love the leaf shape.
That’s awesome! Great picks! I’m not so great with orchids yet. Large leaf Hoya aren’t common in my area yet. Hopefully soon more people can enjoy it. 😊🪴
I have the H. Australis Lisa and I love it. I prefer the Princess to the carnosa Queen. But I do like both of them. I am just the opposite and prefer the Neon pothos. My favorite is the Manjula, but I also have and love the Marble Queen and the Global Green pothos. Fortunately where I live it is easy to find the Cebu Blue and that would definitely be on my list. I only have one syngonium and it is hard to find here (Milk Confetti). What is your favorite syngonium? I have two alocasia, one common the Silver Dragon and one uncommon the Stingray. So I would be picking the Silver Dragon for sure. I love snake plants so much that I have seven varieties, but the one you mentioned is my fav. A plant that is becoming more common here, although more pricey than the others and would be at the top of my list, is my Thai Constellation. She is the first plant that I would get.
I’ve been tempted to get the global green pothos. It’s attractive. Hehe my favourite Syngonium is probably the Albo. It’s so easy and beautiful. And the white doesn’t melt off. 7 varieties of snake plants!!! Wow 🤩 you’re right, the Thai con is becoming easier to find here but it’s not common here YET and the prices are still jacked up. 😅 I’m happy to do my list of uncommon. We’ll see what the audience likes. Thanks for sharing your list! 🤩🤩🪴🪴
Dischidia oiantha variegata - do you have one? I think it would suit your vibe. So beautiful, and easy. I stumbled across it by chance, but it's by no means a rare plant. Care is very similar to hoya or peperomia. Treat like a succulent, i.e. needs very well-draining soil with plenty of pumice/perlite and thorough waterings followed by letting it dry out completely.
hehe it's so funny you should mention this plant. I actually already have it and talk about it in a recent video of my regrets. For some reason I can't quite figure it out. It's still hanging in there though. I recently put it in a chunky mix so hopefully thatll make a difference. Thank you for the recommendation. Video here: ua-cam.com/video/JChzmzUOSag/v-deo.html
@@luciansteph Ah, OK... I must have missed that vid! MIne gets quite a bit of direct sun, it seems to like it. Had it in a medium light spot before, where it didn`t seem to want to grow.
What common plants would you get if you were restarting your collection?
😊
Rubber Ficus, a few violets
Nice! Love ficus plants 😍
@@luciansteph i have 14 types of them now
love a good snake plant 💚

Thanks for letting me know. 😉🪴

Interesting video, thank you. Yes, please record a video about uncommon plants.
Noted. Thank you! 😊🪴
I will always have the green Alocasia Frydek: ALWAYS. She’s is just perfect and worth the pain 😅 Also, pothos: any pothos lol
I agree! This leaves 😍 lol gotta love pothos

@@lucianstephself watering pots were the game changer for my spider plants. They’re in soil with a wick and are thriving.

1. Heartleaf philodendron
2. Hoya Carnosa Queen
3. Scindapsus argyraeus
