@pa_2600 I think she just takes a while to put videos together. Her videos are deep dive style so I think it takes her a while to research, write, film and edit them. Think she's working on new videos at the moment.
@pa_2600 she has a new one about the Star Wars galactic cruiser hotel experience dropping pretty soon (she refers to it in this podcast). She's also done several videos for her patrons recently
I sympathize with the colloquial quicksand that you have become mired in. The world is a rainforest except the rain is people that are impossible to converse with trying to converse with you and the forest is you/me/the average(?) normal person.
The tourists would love to see Jenny again... and I mean that very literally because I had never heard of this channel before but immediately clicked on this video because I saw she was in it.
Jenny is not only the best guest this podcast, but maybe the best guest spot I have ever seen on any podcast. She sat in that chair fully prepared to give her life for E.T. The Ride and I’m 100% here for it.
I went to Universal for the first time recently and if it werent for Jenny's influence I probably would not have bothered to ride the ET ride. There was even a 35 minute wait and I insisted to my friends that I had to ride it because she sold it to me so well. It was great. Also I did see the animatronic bunny in the forest, I can confirm its existence
I've been excited for guests on other podcasts before and left disappointed when they just kind of sit there and fail to join the discussion or integrate with the host's vibe. But not here, Jenny wouldn't let a single thing go by her without comment or opinion. Not a single bad thing could be said about any of ET's friends without her flat out saying "no". Definitely one of the best guests I've seen, agreed.
Jenny clearly demonstrating to women everywhere how to hold your position in the board room and stick to your guns.... and gaslight everyone else into your position. She did not come here to negotiate, she came here to win.
3 days since this dropped and I cannot stop thinking about "can you not just be happy for your fellow man!?" and Jenny's insistence that any appearance of the creepy aliens would result in her cheering and clapping
I feel like Byron hasn’t gotten enough appreciation, so I’m here to say I love the history of the ride segments and everything else he’s bringing to the podcast when he’s able to get a word in
On the spot Jenny defended her points, unspooled their rubric, and revealed their inconsistencies. She just exudes love for ET the ride and will make others love it too
Okay but what I also love is that her suggestion “if everything in the park was 60 minutes would you ride this one” has actually become the way they now present this test
What I love about this is it seems like such a casual conversation but Jenny keeps coming out with these analyses that show what a great cultural critic she is. Like the stuff about the parallel timeline, and about how the ride works because it has a narrative and has peril... it's like the guys weren't ready for that level of critique and they were just like, "Wow."
I love how Jenny phrases her question as "did you love it?" when asking if they liked the rides/parks. It sounds exciting. Like she's expecting only good things. It's lovely. I'll adopt this question.
The names are definitely from a database. When we rode ET with my family in the early 00s, we spent ages spelling out our complicated Finnish names to the attendant. They just hit a bunch of random keys because they knew our names weren't in the list. ET just coldly ignored us at the end.
The earnest-nest to which Jenny adores the green planet and all of ET's nightmare inducing friends is so on brand for her Also chef's kiss to the editor to for zooming in whenever Jenny fidgits with the ET plush
Jenny is so quick, sharp, and effortlessly funny in this. Just fantastic bubbly irony and deadpan humor. Very good at riffing on what the boys have to say. This is my favorite episode so far.
Already know that I'm going to be rewatching this ep multiple times, Jenny is just such a joy and really adds so much to this!! please bring her back!!! also I think she would fucking love the Professor and being on puppet history....just saying!
I love how Jenny calmly stands her ground while dropping deadpan zingers in the sweetest voice and cradling E.T. like a baby, lol. For some reason I feel like I totally relate to her vibe. What a fun episode! I’ve never been on the E.T. ride, but it’s a dream of mine. Like Ryan, that was the first movie I ever saw and I’ve adored E.T. ever since. 🤩
If you ever start running out of guests, I would love to see everyone return so there's just a cycle of regulars :) It might also lead to a greater variety of rides because I think guests are going to pick their very favourite rides if they have only one opportunity to come on the pod. It might be fun for return guests to actually debate random average or poor rides instead of trying to get their favourites to be world class attractions, y'know?
There's still a bunch of Parktubers that'd be great for this show. DisneyDan and Rob Plays would finish the Defunctland trinity...as well as Podcast The Ride. Provost Park Pass....I'll be really impressed if they get Jim Hill
Jenny is my favorite guest so far, you guys have such great comedic chemistry and she brings up a lot of super interesting perspectives I never thought about when it comes to themed attractions. You guys should definitely bring her on again sometime!

Actually so funny that Ryan doubled down on “no hauntings at the ET ride” when in fact I used to work at Universal Orlando and there were in fact ghost stories about that ride passed along by some of the team members lol
I just got to the first trivia question where Ryan thought he would stump Jenny. Like. My man. Have you never watched a Jenny Nicolson video? Of COURSE she knows the name of the 3 little alien guys in ET ride.
Fun fact: Spielberg made a deal with USF that if they ever removed ET, they would also have to remove Jurassic park, so I don’t think it’s going anywhere. They are doing a huge kidzone retheme and ET was the only thing in kidzone that didn’t get the chopping block. Also! P.S. if Ryan and Jenny do go down to Orlando and chain themselves to ET whenever Universal decides to give it the axe, I will gladly go with them.

'you have teeth and eat!' 'yeah but im a scary guy!!' i wish there was an entire series of jenny and ryan visiting and discussing low budget theme parks, their dynamic is so fun
This was my son's favorite ride from 2-4 years old. He would get off the ride and then get back in line. The woods line queue is amazing. This brought me so much joy today.
I remember the first time I rode ET. I was little enough to recall the memory but couldnt tell you my age. It was roughly 30 years ago. My mom (who passed away back in 2011) took me on the ride right before Universal Studios Florida was closing, so there was no line. I remember being scared at first, but everything getting better as we went to ET's planet. And not knowing ET was going to say my name until he actually did at the end was something truly magical. Can't thank the creative designers who helped make the ET ride a reality. I'll always have this treasured memory of my mom and this ride.
I recently rode on the ET ride for the first time and I absolutely loved it! Me and my friends were really worn out and overstimulated by the heat and crowds and that forest waiting room was pure healing magic. The line went all the way to those tree trash cans so we had to wait quite a while and we all thought it was well worth it (it was so long of a wait that we saw Botanicus at least three times). We lucked out and got front row seats and I was like a kid in awe the whole time. I’m so glad it got a world class rating, it deserves it! That ride turned our whole day around and we had such a good rest of the day. It cured my motion sickness from the Jimmy Fallon ride, it lifted my friend’s crabby mood from trying to optimize our ride schedule, and it got rid of the headache my other friend had. I do have a strong love of trees so that helped my appreciation. Sadly ET did not say my name, but the green planet was a big surprise to me even if the aliens were a bit creepy. It was my second favorite ride of the park after Hagrid’s Motorbike ❤🎉 It also felt like such a cool time capsule. Great episode!!
Setting suggestion: scoot the table forward and bring all three of you more into a line. It would fix having the two front people constantly looking the opposite direction of the camera. It felt like they were turned away from us most of the time. Great content, lovely interview to listen to!
I'm having a really rough day and nearly had an anxiety attack at work, and being able to watch this during my lunch break is a great comfort and breath of fresh air as I collect myself. Thank you for creating this wonderful content. And love that you had Jenny on!
I love the idea of if your favorite ride just _kept going._ Just imagine that, you're wrapping up the last scene of the ride, getting ready to coast into the station, and then. . . more. It just continues on to new scenes, maybe from a sequel, or from a potential sequel, just more and more scenes for another 20 minutes before it finally shows up at the station to get off.
On behalf of all E.T. Adventure truthers, I'd like to extend a massive thank you to Jenny for sticking up for this amazing piece of art through and though
I went to Universal Hollywood for the first time in years last year and it reignited my love for the ET ride. I even got an ET Christmas ornament and an ET tshirt because I loved it so much. What a classic.
This was my favorite episode so far! Not just because I’m a big fan of Jenny, but because it was great hearing people who just love something so much talk about it. And the fact that this is the first attraction you’ve discussed that I haven’t been on makes me really excited for future eps. I got to go watch a POV of it before I started the ep to feel like I knew what was happening.
One of my earliest memories as a child was also going on the E.T ride at Universal FL. I really thought he only said mine & my aunt’s name until this video haha. I loved E.T. so much my mom wrote me a postcard from him and delivered it to my hotel room. Very magical ❤
I absolutely adore the zoom ins on the little ET doll and how I’ve never seen Jenny without a plushy in the same room 😂 And I really think the tourist would like to see Universal make stuffed green planet creatures so that Jenny can have another on theme stuffed toy for a theme park ride & movie she hasn’t seen when she eventually has to review “ET the Ride the Movie” coming 2028
20:45 OH MY GOD I SAW THE HEART LIGHT EFFECT THE OTHER DAY!!! it's near the beginning when you enter the forest area just at the first turn (the one right before the express lane and standby split) and it looked like just an LED light that zips by and i was the only one in my group to see it so when i brought it up everyone thought i was crazy 😭😭
40:43 Jenny was right on the money with Tiana’s. She described what we hoped we’d get (Shadowman) and voiced concern about what we actually got (party story, no peril)
So I finished the Spotify version and enjoyed it so much that I came to UA-cam to emphasize how much I loved it… and ended up rewatching the entire episode again here 😅
That 60 minute question. Man, I feel super old, heh. I have been to theme parks more before the invention of fastpass than I have since then. So almost every ride was at least 30 minutes, some of them were 3 hours. When I did ET it was definitely stacked out past the forest.
Let me say this.. I love this pod. This episode got me through work today where I was fighting the wind and now I’m finishing my final project for a class and I can’t help but giggle at all of this. This brings such a sense of community to all the little freaks who are theme park enthusiasts and coaster heads. This podcast may not have the biggest numbers out of all of watcher products, but in a little corner of the internet, is loved.
Ryan and Byron, I just gotta say that this is one of if not my favorite podcast that I’ve ever listened to. This show has come so far in the few episodes that you guys have made and it really is starting to take form. Don’t get put down by being a new, smaller pod. We theme park fanatics may be small but damn are we mighty and word will continue to spread💪 keep up the awesome work!❤️❤️
To be fair, I was like her 😂 1st riding this ride as a kid I didn't see the movie, but after getting off the ride they sold the VHS (at the time 2004) tapes at the gift shop, and my parents bought me the tape. I was not disappointed.
I found the best life size ET statue and immediately thought of this video and Jenny petting an ET. This thing literally could hide in a closet with stuffed animals and look legit out of the movie. It's pretty awesome.
I was so scared to click on this as a BIG fan of this ride and im so pleasantly surprised! Also as someone who has seen a lot of people getting off this ride, especially after E.T. saying your name, a LOT of people are HYPED 🥰 LOVED the passes and verdict! I'm so glad yall started this podcast! Also, especially as someone who was in Orlando for Ghost Files Live...I'm ready to hear about Velocicoaster 🤪
This was the deepest dive I've ever seen into the ET Adventure universe. I can't believe someone finally put into words the satisfaction of hearing the "slapping water" sound in the ride. My favorite character is Orbidon, who reminds me of a cross of a mushroom, Dumb Donald from Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, and Mayor McCheese from McDonald's. I'm kind of disappointed that no love was given for the animatronic owl, the OG Universal Owl.
I honestly have never had any interest in visiting universal studios until I watched this podcast. This sounds like a really cool ride. I love the forest queue, bike ride vehicles, and alien friends. . . now we need to watch E.T.
Best ride by far-- have a tattoo on my arm in honor of it. Who doesn't like traveling to the Green Planet and hanging with Magdol, Orbidon, Tickli, and the gang.
17:42 I went to Universal Florida as a part of a band trip in high school, and I remember I rode ET with my band director. It was one of the few rides that he hadn't ridden before, so when they started rattling off our names, I distinctly remember him gaping in shock and excitement at me, and after the ride was over he kept referencing and mimicking how ET had said our names. The magic doesn't die for everyone 🤭
The discussion of E.T. using his glowing healing WHILE hurting you around @20:10 reminds me of one of my worst, most vivid nightmares as a kid. I was terrified of E.T. until I was 13 or so, and I had my appendix removed at age 9. The night before my surgery, I dreamed that E.T. was operating on me and basically torturing me and healing me back up with his finger, and I had to try and run away as he levitated scalpels and things at me... Fun times. I got better though! Now I love E.T., one of my favorite movies and one of my favorite memories as a kid is going on this ride in Orlando (strangely enough I think it was a few months before that appendix story) and while I didn't like it then, I love the memories and clips they showed in this discussion.
she’s been working on a few i think. i know she’s doing a star cruiser video and she’s been planning a barbie movie ranking video and i think she mentioned maybe doing a video similar to her vampire diaries one on Once Upon A Time. she works on her new videos all at the same time and they’re very long so it takes a while for them to get our hit they’re worth it
Her update last month on patron was that her next video was going to be about Five nights at Freddy's. She's still slowly working on the star cruiser video.
About the POV of the rides for Universal vs Disney, I've noticed that in Disney you're more like a guest invited to take a look into the magical world of Disney IP, which is why it feels more like a showcase or has a group tour vibe. Whereas Universal Rides are all more like self-insert fanfic and YOU are the star of the adventure, so they ask for YOUR help to move the ride plot along or have characters talking to YOU often. Either style has their merits and demerits I think.
Jenny doubling down on how much she loves the ET ride but NEVER having seen ET is the most Jenny thing she’s ever done.
and the way she's cradling that ET plush and wearing a t-shirt with all the funny little alien creatures, so perfectly in character for Jenny :')
I can relate, I've definitely been on the ET Ride more than I have actually seen ET at this point.

I used to work on the ET ride in Orlando and can confirm that it is in fact deeply haunted
I also remember that day in 2019!
I went to Universal Hollywood for the first time in years last year and it reignited my love for the ET ride. I even got an ET Christmas ornament and an ET tshirt because I loved it so much. What a classic.
absolutely love jenny fighting tooth and nail to make ET pass 100% and i agree. absolutely hilarious episode, would love to have her back on the pod
I love when Jenny asks a man “Did you love it?” It always has such a vague connotation, it’s so funny
The E.T. queue is absolutely a core memory for me, I’m glad so many people have had a similar reaction.
"I've got to stop saying that at the end of podcasts" killed me LMAO
One of my earliest memories as a child was also going on the E.T ride at Universal FL. I really thought he only said mine & my aunt’s name until this video haha. I loved E.T. so much my mom wrote me a postcard from him and delivered it to my hotel room. Very magical ❤
Best guest, Jenny was perfect. I hope she'll come back!
I hope Jenny returns for every episode! Best guest ever!
I absolutely adore the zoom ins on the little ET doll and how I’ve never seen Jenny without a plushy in the same room 😂
And I really think the tourist would like to see Universal make stuffed green planet creatures so that Jenny can have another on theme stuffed toy for a theme park ride & movie she hasn’t seen when she eventually has to review “ET the Ride the Movie” coming 2028
😔
I fucking love Jenny she’s so cool. She’s so confident in who she is and I really admire her for that
So I finished the Spotify version and enjoyed it so much that I came to UA-cam to emphasize how much I loved it… and ended up rewatching the entire episode again here 😅
The more I listen to Jenny talk unscripted, the more I'm convinced she has an insane memory.
That 60 minute question. Man, I feel super old, heh. I have been to theme parks more before the invention of fastpass than I have since then. So almost every ride was at least 30 minutes, some of them were 3 hours. When I did ET it was definitely stacked out past the forest.
Never been on this ride, but Jenny's enthusiasm makes me want to love it.
Jenny became a lawyer for this ride. And all her arguments held up. I love it! lol
Honestly, would love her as a permanent 3rd host
ABSOLUTELY. This would go from a casual watch depending on the topic to a literal must watch for me on upload if they did this.
I found the best life size ET statue and immediately thought of this video and Jenny petting an ET. This thing literally could hide in a closet with stuffed animals and look legit out of the movie. It's pretty awesome.
Holy crap, I'm crying laughing!!! I had to stop the video!
"Welcome home. You have died."
I'll never un-hear that!!!
Jenny hand waving the incident with person’s foot being run over legitimately almost took me out 😭😭 i couldn’t breathe
Best episode yet! We love Jenny Nicholson!
41:22 oh Jenny….. no… no there isn’t any trouble or peril. It is indeed “just a drop for fun”
Ryan really thought he'd stump her with the names of ET's friends when he points out having noticed her shirt which has them listed right there 😂
I honestly have never had any interest in visiting universal studios until I watched this podcast. This sounds like a really cool ride. I love the forest queue, bike ride vehicles, and alien friends. . . now we need to watch E.T.
Finally got around to watching For Your Amusement. I gotta say. This is Ryan's best thing. This is his Puppet History.
Completely agree. This is a fantastic venture.
i’ve been waiting for this crossover once again!! Jenny I could listen to you talk about theme parks for hours and hours…podcast??
The only time I’ve ever seen my sister absolutely terrified by a ride is when ET said her name at the end.
The tourists would like to see more Jenny on this channel!
Hahahahaha, “Welcome home, you have died!” I will never be able to hear anything else again! 😂
Now I love E.T., one of my favorite movies and one of my favorite memories as a kid is going on this ride in Orlando (strangely enough I think it was a few months before that appendix story) and while I didn't like it then, I love the memories and clips they showed in this discussion.
the tourists would love to see jenny on the pod again
This has seriously become my favorite podcast. Please keep up the great work!
Pls have Jenny back on again soon, this was so fun!
I hope Jenny’s appearance means we are getting a new video on her channel soon.
54:06 starcruiser vid!!
she’s said on patreon too that a star cruiser video is next!!
she’s been working on a few i think. i know she’s doing a star cruiser video and she’s been planning a barbie movie ranking video and i think she mentioned maybe doing a video similar to her vampire diaries one on Once Upon A Time. she works on her new videos all at the same time and they’re very long so it takes a while for them to get our hit they’re worth it
Her update last month on patron was that her next video was going to be about Five nights at Freddy's. She's still slowly working on the star cruiser video.
Star cruiser is out
About the POV of the rides for Universal vs Disney, I've noticed that in Disney you're more like a guest invited to take a look into the magical world of Disney IP, which is why it feels more like a showcase or has a group tour vibe. Whereas Universal Rides are all more like self-insert fanfic and YOU are the star of the adventure, so they ask for YOUR help to move the ride plot along or have characters talking to YOU often. Either style has their merits and demerits I think.
