My freshman year of college, I went to Disneyland with 2 of my friends and one of them had never been before. She was wearing a first visit pin while we trying to pull the sword out of the stone and a cast member asked if we wanted to skip the line for Peter Pan. Otherwise, we weren’t going to wait in the line. We got on right away and it made our day even more magical

i’m with ryan on pirates, wdw’s is trash compared to disneyland’s and those are the only two i’ve ever been on! granted im a wdw local so our pirates is always accessible to me but after doing disneylands, i honestly can’t bring myself to do wdw’s and haven’t since i first went to DL bc its just not the same and i know ill be disappointed 😂 disneyland truly ruined certain magic kingdom attractions for me bc they’re just so superior in disneyland

Would love this format with other types of attractions i.e. live shows, themed restaurants, rides that inspired disappointing movies etc

My love of Na’vi River Journey is the mix of the song, the mesmerizing animationic, and her voice. The story is you’re on a journey to meet the shaman of songs where she’s in the forest praising Eywa (their god mentioned in the movie). As you’re floating through the bioluminescent forest slowly you start to hear the song filter through the trees. And as the song gets louder, you start to hear the voice of the shaman overlay the chorus of the song. They chose the perfect slightly nasally voice for her; you can just hear the joy and reverence in her tone. Then you come around the corner and see this absolutely beautiful animatronic. As you see her, the song is at it’s joyful pentical and she’s singing along as you float past; it just fills me with so much joy and comfort.

I will say I actually do love Navi river journey. For me it is like Byron said, this is my moment of zen. I get to just sit and be in a calm dark place, peaceful ethereal music playing, watching to silly little jellyfish creatures float in the air. For me it is a plus that there is no story and no point to it (I actively hate the story and background in Avatar so less story is better for me here) and then I get to see a top class animatronic and leave peaceful. Would I wait more than 10 min for it? Nope. I will forever get a pass for it or just not go. But I love the option of it being there in a park with few rides.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for keeping this podcast going. It honestly makes my week and brings me comfort!

ex pandora cm here! 👋🏼 navi river journey is the safari of pandora. africa has the gorilla trail and safari, asia has the tiger trail, and dino land has/had dinosaur (to see the dino’s). as the animals in pandora couldn’t have their own “trail” (they’re not the friendliest animals), the “story” is seeing the fauna of pandora. the “journey” name is because you are following the animals journey to the shaman of songs. 🙂‍↕️ completely agree that it isn’t worth the wait and also lack luster, but, figured it was worth the explanation! ◡̈ (also i am once again asking to pls be a nobody guest to discuss flight of passage)

Putting Navi River Journey over Gran Fiesta Tour in any way is wild to me tbh (I don’t care how good the shaman animatronic is at the end) 😭

Disney world still does the Jingle cruise and Tiana’s is still on virtual queue in Disney world too, even on the coldest day when nobody wants to ride it lol

If the average tourist test results in a debate on whether its easy to get on its an automatical fail for that test imo. If its easy to get on its easy to get on.. if theres any waffling then its a sign its not "easy to get on"

I once rode Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios on the 4th of July, and we dropped as the fireworks began. It was insane and terrifying because the fireworks were RIGHT in front of us

Iron Man was not owned by Paramount, now was Thor etc. Paramount just hit a distribution deal with Marvel. Marvel owned the rights, made the movies - Paramount just distributed the completed movie on their behalf for a share of the profits. The distribution deal was a limited time thing, which is why they are now distributed by Disney.

i went to epcot in 2005-6 with my family. first time we went on this ride, somebody ripped a nasty fart in that long hallway. i’ve never enjoyed that queue since. 😂

I do prefer the world class tests, obviously, but I recognize that there’s a limited amount of those that can be made. I still enjoyed this format and would be fine having one of these every month or two

I sort of understand what Ryan is trying to say here, but it’s preposterous to not include Pirates of the Caribbean. I frankly don’t care if it’s not as good as Disneyland. I’ve been on both and enjoyed both, but I went on Disney World first, and when I went on Pirates, I was amazed. It left as big of an impact on me as anything else. Selecting Living With the Land as your number one but excluding Pirates feels a bit sanctimonious imo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jungle Cruise in WDW has a "Jingle Cruise" overlay and the skippers do Christmas themed jokes!

I used to live in San Diego and 65 with sun is still pretty hot. Even 50 degree days sometimes. It’s never “cold”.

Have you thought about recording an episode at the theme park? There would be some challenges certainly but could be fun and different.

Maybe this opinion is baked in nostalgia, because I grew up going to WDW and just rode the original version for the first time last year, but… I think the WDW version of Pirates is paced better. When I went on the Disneyland one I kept thinking there was so much dead space between the scenes. And the outdoor switchbacks are bruuuuutal

Hahahah I enjoyed Navi River Journey because I bought the Premier Pass for Animal Kingdom so I had lightning lane on *everything*, so it was a walk on, and I knew in advance that it was a bad ride with a cool animatronic. So I had a nice little float, pointed at the animatronic, and watched the disappointment come over everyone's face as they realized the ride was over and that was it 😂😂😂

Navi has sooooo much potential. Even enjoying it while "enhanced" its far too short. Plus you will probably have to share the row. Meh

ILL ALWAYS SAY THIS: Kali river rapids needs a retheme of jungle book. You go down the river listening to bare necessities it would be way more magical. The ride story is boring and there is no thrills.

Navi river journey is a nice break from the chaos of your day! It’s just a moment to feel peace. Sure it’s a one trick pony but it’s like a few minutes of calm to decompress and then that amazing animatronic (when it’s working) at the end to bring you back to the amazement of Disney!

Living with the land is absolutely trash I can’t wait till they replace it so my girlfriend will stop dragging me on it 😂😂

people need to stop hyping up living with the land and maybe people will enjoy it more. I was expecting a lot because of the cult following and i got on and was like WTF?
