  • HOW CAN I ADD 100+HP TO MY SUPERCHARGED LS? SHOULD I RUN AN INTERCOOLER ON MY SUPERCHARGED LS? HOW MUCH POWER IS AN INTERCOOLER WORTH? HOW MUCH POWER IS E85 WORTH? HOW MUCH POWER IS A CAM SWAP WORTH ON A SUPERCHARGED LS? HOW WELL DOES THE FACTORY LS9 CAM WORK UNDER BOOST? IS THERE A BETTER SUPERCHARGED CAM THAN THE FACTORY LS9? HOW MUCH POWER IS A VORTECH SUPERCHARGER WORTH? CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO WHERE I RAN A 5.3L LS TRUCK MOTOR FIRST NATURALLY ASPIRATED WITH A FACTORY LS9 CAM. I THEN ADDED A VORTECH SUPERCHARGER. THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT HOW I INCREASED THE POWER OUTPUT OF THE ALREADY SUPERCHARGED 5.3L BY OVER 100 HP, ALL WITHOUT RESORTING TO INCREASING THE BOOST WITH A PULLEY CHANGE!

    I’m going way out in left field here. I realize Chevy is king, do you ever Dyno any old school Mopar stuff? I would love to see an honest ol school 70 426 Hemi 425hp engine build and Dyno. This way you can control all aspects like you do with your regular builds. No BS, build a stock replica 426 HEMI from 1970 as te The factory would have built and Dyno it. Too many way over exaggerated numbers in typical Dyno utube exaggeration. This is why I watch your videos, no BS, real results.

    Ran this back and forth through my head Mr Holdener. Hp and TQ increased, so mass air flow had to increase given the fixed blower ratio. My theory will be that gauge pressure(boost) increased because of reversion/overlap/ fighting intake pressure with the 222/244 cam

    The lobe separation on the blower cam was the reason for increase power and boost.

    Based on the theory that no pump ever delivers pressure, only flow and you only get pressure if you introduce a restriction to that flow; the BTR inlet lobe must have less area under the curve than the LS9 profile, but makes the extra power on the exhaust side by reducing pumping losses.

      PD blowers deliver flow, centrifugal air pumps (whatever the power source) care a lot about pressure - they will deliver more air if pressure is reduced.

    Question on head gaskets.... 6.0 liter LS for example... head gaskets are avail with various bore diameters. You can get MLS type gaskets at 4.100 bore or 4.200 bore etc etc. Should you always choose a gasket closest to the actual bore size? Does it matter that much?

    Now for the magic question, where does the reliability start to be affected? With being a daily driver around town and occasional strip trip, how will the aluminum block late model LS 5.3 hold up? I want to go with good heads, valvetrain, cam and Procharger on my 2022 Z71 5.3. Where will the power be and will the transmission hold up also?

    I would think the engine became more efficent over the cam swap. And it is a no brainer on cooler air always makes more power. But i cant help to wonder if the timing was left at 21 then ran and bump to 23 what was the hp per timing increase. I mean yes you want to take adavantge of the cooler air and better fuel but how much did timing contribute?
    Also we just did a ls 6.0 turbo motor nothing fancy ring gap gen 4 rods. nice cam btr intake. In the car with out the turbo hooked up, running through foward facing mainfolds. th400 3200 stall 3.90 gear promax 245 heads e85. made 458 to the wheels at max 28* afr mid 11 e85 scale. Im wondering this the motor didnt make any more power na so is it safe to say its a 450 hp motor ? Im thinking once i put the 98mm turbo on and run it up to atmospheric pressure 14.5 psi will it almost double in hp? I mean im not changing the tune at all as far as timing , afr might need adjusting but other than that nothing else i should make 900 hp or close to it at just 1 bar 14,5 psi right?
    as always richard great info great vid learning alot finally catching up on the vids i dident see.

    • @GoatPilot04
      @GoatPilot04 Рік тому +2

      You could definitely run everything here on a stock engine, BUT definitely not with stock injectors. Not safely anyway. The pwm would be beyond maxed out and idk if that would even work, so like I said, not safely. You'd just need everything here, and injectors and a VERY GOOD TUNE. Your weak points of course are going to be the pistons/ring gap, then pins/rods. If you kept it turned moderately down on a lower boost level like this it would run on a good tune for a long time if it wasn't abused.

      @@DillonAuto Compromise is always a consideration. Building a pump gas freindly turbo rig is a compromise in ultimate output on a power per dollar basis, with the trade off being fuel up anywhere. But if E85 exists nearby, or you have a flex fuel sensor, and enough injector, E85 offers cooler, slower burning fuel mixtures, which allow more aggressive timing, and more power, and E85 is 2.85 a gallon by me, now you use 30%+ more because it has less energy density, but it's under $3 a gallon.
