    Dylan, back in the sixties when we didn't have much money to spend on motorcycle exhaust there were cheap mufflers, shorties, and others. You can still buy what we called trumpet exhaust from Dennis KIrk and others which I think would sound great on a Royal Enfield twin. They are made by Emgo and now called upswept cocktail mufflers. They cost only $79.99 each which is a lot cheaper than most. J&P has them for$62.99 each. They are only 19" long and the outlet end looks like a trumpet. J&P still sells the shorties, too but I always liked what I called the trumpet mufflers. They have baffles and use to sound great. I bet they still would on a twin.
    I think it would be a neat project and neat video if you would install a pair of these on a RE twin and then take her for a ride to show how good they sound.
    Just an idea. Ride safe and enjoy every journey.

      Yeah we sell EMGO at the shop and some customers have put them on their Interceptors. They sounds fantastic. I don’t have a video with them though.

    Looks and sounds great! I am in California, and plenty of people have illegal race exhausts (pretty much every Harley, and pretty much every other sport bike slip-on is also not CARB compliant) but I have no need for that, nor the compliant one. I’d most likely do the K&N intake plus the S&S slip-on’s or another similar system. The sound will still be great and there will still be a weight savings.

    I am hoping for a version of this, or any 2-1, for the Super Meteor.

    I have seen a brand new Interceptor 650 in my local Royal Enfield dealership in Ireland with the 2 in 1, very nice 👍👍👍👍

    i like these, but i think the tec exhaust looks a little bit better on the enfield and is way cheaper. the pipe from the left cylinder on the tec exhaust is tucked in behind the frame too

      Im leaning towards the tec system.. a lot cheaper, no cats and looks more finished. If it's too loud you can tone it down with their 6 hole baffle which sounds great.

      @@sscbkr48 agreed. the s&s looks a bit too modern but still sounds awesome

    Great video!
    Are you only getting the performance bump with the race-only version? Or does the road version also give the same increase (besides shedding weightl)?

    Do you know the difference between race only and street? I plan to build a race bike out of an Continental GT but in Germany we have a 98db cap on tracks. Don't mind emissions, just noise.

    I'm not a fan of loud pipes, but your setup seems to give a nice sound without being obnoxious. Does the stock fuel injection handle the increased airflow okay, or did you need to tweak the mapping?
    As a side note... It's hard to tell from the camera angle, but it looks like you could rotate the brake and clutch levers down a bit to make squeezing them a bit more ergonomic. Adjusting levers and pedals for optimal fit is usually one of the first things I do to my bikes.

      Genral rule of thumb when upgrading the exhaust and or airfilter let the bike idle for 15mins and the ECU will remap and make the adjustments it's self. So super easy mod.

    Since you've ridden 70s cb750 I have a question. I have a custom built 750, progressive fork springs, murrays mikuni carbs and then updated all the electronics. I'm looking to get a new bike and build a scrambler. Thinking about the int650 as the platform. Obviously both the 70s cb750 and into 650 are completely different bikes. But how do the two compare when it comes to riding. Power on 650 is less, but It weighs less and is modern. The rake is more aggressive than a cb750.

    Great channel, I enjoyed your tire video. Just curious if you know of an alternative swing arm for an Inter 650 that is longer? I'd like to run a n 18"160 rear wheel/tire set up. I'm also interested in finding a inverted long forks front end from a motocross bike or perhaps a triumph 900 that I could run a phat 21" front wheel tire as well. I am considering buying a bike from you as your website looks good. I am in Nevada.

      The short answer is that I don't know of any longer swingarms or front ends that are available. the first places I would look is into what Revival Cycles has done with their Interceptor. They added a Suzuki DR front end and it seems to work well. I know some of the Build Train Race bikes have custom swingarms, so maybe there is something that can be purchased from one of their sponsors/builders. Let me know if you find anything in those directions or have any more questions!

    How long should you idle for the ECU to adapt to the exhaust system?

    Thave a 2022 Royal Enfield 650
    Interceptor with 500miles, or 804 kilometers, When I first start the bike when cold it starts but immediately dies, i have to immediately rotate the throttle to get it up in rpm's to keep it running at higher rpm for a few seconds then it will idle ok. It does this every cold start attempt. I cleaned and replaced the four relays but it didn't help. Did you also have this happen with your RE? How to fix this? Is it similar to adjusting the throttle position sensor voltage like you did on the RE Hi?

    • @throttlecompany
      @throttlecompany  Рік тому +1

      Mine does not do this and I’ve never heard of this problem. You really should take it to the dealer and have them look at it.

    • @highspeedboom
      @highspeedboom Рік тому

      @@throttlecompany I did take it to the dealership where I bought it, the bike was warm and started perfectly. I told them that it only does this during cold start or first start. They said they didn’t know how to fix it. They also said they never had this problem.

      My best guess is that it’s a fuel supply issue. I might try flipping on the kill switch on and off a few times to make sure the fuel pump is fully primed. Another thing that won’t have as immediate results would be to run a fuel system cleaner (like seafoam) through with the next fill up of fuel. That might clean the injectors. My theory here being that the bike sat before it was sold with old gas and it may have gummed up the system just enough to cause this problem.

      @@throttlecompany This bike didn’t set at the dealership as i bought it the same day that they finished putting it together from the crate. It didn’t have this problem when I first bought it. It started doing this at about 400 miles. It runs perfectly fine after I increase the revs for a a few seconds and you can shut it off and then it will immediately start up no problem. It’s just annoying to get started the first time. I have hit the kill switch and turned the bike off then back on again but it doesn’t help. I also put iridium plugs in and that didn’t help either.
