Even though I don't like the term "lady superstar" there are only two women that can be called as superstar are Vijayashanthi and Anushka shetty. No one orher than these two can be callled as superstar. I am saying this after studying deeply about south Indian films, actors and most importantly audience & box-office.
@hollywoodreporter, while we know you have a certain brand guideline to film these videos in black and red, it’s very difficult to watch the screen with such little brightness. Either light the frame more so that viewers don’t have to squint to watch or choose other warmer tone costume so that’s easier on the eyes. This is coming from purely visual accessibility reasons, hope you will take it into account. Black is chic no doubt, but not at the cost of viewers who are thwarted by it.
So instead of documentaries (that too proper ones) on people like Abdul Kalaam or Tata, we'll get documentaries on inconsequential actors and rappers. Okay. 🤷♂
It’s hard to see how the lives of celebrities, especially those with privileged backgrounds, can truly inspire or resonate with everyday people. Take, for instance, an actress from a well-off family who leveraged her good looks to secure opportunities in television and movies. Her career was shaped by adapting to the industry, selecting roles strategically, and finding success over time. While that’s commendable to some extent, there doesn’t seem to be any extraordinary struggle or challenge that sets her apart. Her personal life, often portrayed as a love story, might feel overly romanticized. Falling in love with multiple people before settling with a director, whom she met on set and considered her soulmate, is nothing unique. To some, their relationship might even appear superficial, especially if the director’s persona feels disingenuous. After getting married, they reportedly used surrogacy to have children, which is entirely their choice, but it doesn’t necessarily reflect the realities faced by most people. Their lifestyle-lavish homes, luxury cars, private jets, extravagant vacations, and a team of household staff-is far removed from what the average person can relate to or aspire toward. This raises the question: what’s inspiring about this story? For a normal family, watching such content might not offer practical lessons or meaningful insights. Instead, it could just amplify feelings of dissatisfaction or unrealistic expectations. While such shows might provide entertainment, their impact on everyday life seems limited, other than the cost of the subscription to watch them. They spent a significant amount on their wedding celebrations, and now they aim to recoup that expense by showcasing their love story and marriage to their fans. If they genuinely wanted to share this moment with their fans, why didn’t they invite them to the wedding in the first place?
The accusation in the documentary that ppl body shamed her is totally inaccurate.Tamil audience have always embraced actresses irrespective of weight like Kushboo,Meena, Jyotika and made them no 1. Tamil audience always supported Radhika mam, Samantha, Nayanthara's good movies irrespective of their number of relationships which was another baseless allegiation against tamil audience.
Self praise and marketing by an ordinary actress. She has not achieved something out of the ordinary for people to look up to ….It’s shameful these people make money out of anything and everything
I am sure Nayanthara works hard and has a great work ethic as she claims. No arguments there. And it's true she's gone through personal struggles. But, is Nayanthara really a Superstar? What exactly does the term mean? To me, a superstar is someone who can draw in huge crowds into the cinemas. Someone capable of giving a movie that huge initial. It does not necessarily have to be an Actor. It could be a Director, Writer or even a Music Director. People might choose to go see a movie just because the superstar is associated with it. Is Nayanthara able to draw in such crowds, who come to watch a movie just because she is in it? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but most of her 'hit' films have had her acting alongside established male superstars like Rajni, Viay, Ajith, Suriya, Chiranjeevi, Sharukh Khan etc who were always the bigger crowd pullers in such films. I always felt she just rode their coat tails and achieved fame that way. I know she's starred in films where she was the protagonist and the biggest star. But has such movies ever achieved humongous box office success? Personally, I've never seen a movie just because she was in it. But I have seen movies featuring her and can say she's never been so bad, it stood out. I never had any intention of seeing this Documentary, despite the notoriety it has recently gained, owing to some off screen drama. Not because I have any thing against, Nayanthara, but I've never been interested in a celebrity's personal life. I've only ever been interested in their work.
@@merladyneptune3908 Did she get the Superstar title after this movie? I've never even heard about this movie till now. Just checked it's wikipedia page. Seems like it came out in 2018. Made around 80cr on a 20cr budget. That's phenomenal.

I don't know why people like her feel entitled to do a documentary on themselves. What is your contribution to the society other than entertainment? The major problem in our country is we celebrate entertainers and cricketers like our lives depend on it. Paying them extravagant amounts of money. Giving them the stardom. They obviously will feel entitled. This is the problem not just in India, but all over the world. Take Ronaldo. Eliminate football or his contributions, the world will remain the same. Just one less entertainment for the people. They definitely don't deserve what they get.

So I'm genuinely asking why people really hare Nayanthara And always downgrade her Just because she's here staying relevant and not the other actress make them grow hatred towards her. Why no one questions when male actors proclaime themselves a title. For real no hate just asking.
I liked the documentary because it's not often she is doing interviews about whatever she intended to share in the documentary. For others who wanted an elaborate discussion on her being outsider in the industry and everything that comes along with it, or her affairs and what and who played a part in her setbacks. That information is like opening a can of worms or washing dirty linen in public. Obviously, nayanthara is playing with the devil if she has to go towards exposing tamil film industry which played a huge part in her career.
