      angielou123 I was going to say something similar. He seems oddly calm and collected. Much different to listening to Charles Manson , but maybe that's because Manson never technically killed anyone.

      Belieber Foreverxoxo Well, that still does not explain why the comments and also this news article perpetually underline the fact that he talks about his crimes without passion. If serial killers shock no matter their stance and approach why is it worth mentioning that they are passionate or indifferent about it then?

    • @jck1794
      @jck1794 6 років тому +21

      maybe, now hear me out now, maybe it's the "killing" part that creeps people out

    • @winterhaydn5640
      @winterhaydn5640 6 років тому +34

      I think the part that disturbs people is that they see some humanity in the killer and it ruins their idea of what he is supposed to be. It's easier to think murderers are the kind of "villains" in Hollywood films with no feelings and sinister intentions up their sleeves (very 2-dimensional), than someone who's sensitive, intelligent, and competent -but who became distorted somewhere along the way .... leading to depraved, harmful behavior.
      --- Not to condone or condemn what Dahmer or anyone similar to him has done, we obviously can't look passed that, but society still has a primitive sense of what they call "evil people" (a superstitious and empty term invented by religion, which doesn't actually exist in nature). There's still this very outdated idea that humans/behaviors exist in isolation, ignoring the interconnected reality of life .....
      The point is, pressures on the brain seem to be what cause people to act out in violent ways. And these originate from somewhere. It can be due to stress, or physical and/mental trauma, or brain injuries. What has been long been shown is that the most violent men in society generally have some of the worst upbringings imaginable, leading to this damaged state of being. There is a physiological reason for what they do. Furthermore, primary feelings like loss, shame, abandonment can drive their abnormal thoughts and trigger episodes of harmful behavior.
      So, until we recognize what is going on underneath the primary picture, and stop relying on this highly crude duality of "good or bad" viewpoint, there is absolutely no way to solve the issue -- which is the biggest tragedy, since the public only reacts AFTER the worst part of a chain of events has unfolded ..... in order to feel some shallow sense of "justice" (revenge) and accomplishment by "punishing" them for what they've done.
      Their limited frame of mind never takes into account that the attacker himself (and many people connected to him him) could very well have been a victim at some point too. Meaning, that if we found a way to intervene and treat his conditions or at least humanely isolate him from others in society (hoping to understand the matter better), it could have saved a lot of lost lives and torment. --Or, far better, find a way to prevent or decrease the environmental conditions which formed such negative patterns.
      *Anyone who feels good about simply pointing fingers at "the monster" really needs to consider what it is they're accomplishing.*
      It's quite literally allowing for MORE murders, assaults and violence to happen in the world, not less. The victims involved will only have died in vain.

      That sounds about right. My son got the death penalty for a crime that his common law wife committed and she got life without parole. There was no evidence that he was even there and that is even mentioned in the records. No fingerprints or DNA, it was all hers . My son was executed in 2003, only four years after the crime was committed. He wrote a letter to the attorney general and requested his date to be set and it was said that it was nothing more than an assisted suicide. I am still waiting to wake up from my nightmare. And you wouldn't believe how people have treated me since all of this .

      Oh it was even worse, read the wiki article on it. He was bleeding from his butt from being raped there, he was the one who had hot water injected into his brain, Dahmer tried to take him back to his apartment by his hand and the child resisted, the women said to the officers: look, he doesn't even want to go back with him, officers told them to shut up and took the kid back with him. It was also heard over the radio that they were laughing and one said "My partner is going to get deloused at the station", which I'm guessing may be a racial slur but I'm not entirely sure. They legitimately just did not care. The second pair who saved the last man Dahmer tried to murder, were far more serious.

    27:17 If anyone is interested, Theresa Smith actually ended up forgiving Jeffrey Dahmer some time after this interview. She made a visit to him in prison to get some closure and felt that Jeffrey was truly remorseful of his actions. He apologized to her and told her what her brother's final words were. She was relieved that Jeffrey sedated her brother before murdering him. She also became friends with his dad and step-mother and said that she couldn’t really blame them for not noticing their son's crimes.

      Svinja Nola Chick I have a type written letter from Jeffrey Dahmer to my preacher. They had corresponded, prompted by JD,
      I believe. I know he was baptized by a Church of Christ preacher. My preacher sent him pamphlets and JD discussed them with my preacher. I truly believe he was forgiven of his sins. He honestly confesses he still has the urges to return to his old life. That is what Christianity is, after true repentance you are forgiven of all your sins. The Bible says that no sin is worse than another. Sin is sin. The peace of forgiveness promises further forgiveness. In other words, when he has those urges he prays with a true heart to God to forgive him and it is done. The devil works hard on you after you have given yourself to God. I appreciate his honesty (being truly saved demands this). This is why he is so open about everything. I don’t know where the letter is right now but when I come across it, I will look you up and send it to you if you like. My preacher has passed approximately 2 years ago and he spoke of this occasionally. Have a blessed day.

    I was the person who uploaded this video. I bought a dvd online that was rare can't remember where from. But the footage had an extra 3 hours. There was also a court video that isn't on youtube anywhere. I didn't expect this to get so many views. I uploaded it for a friend to see some unseen footage from the dvd. I'm very much into the psychology of dahmer, He had BPD and some paraphernalia. I also suffer from BPD though note. BPD does not cause this but i can understand why. the feeling of being constantly alone and parent's abandoning you i have gone through similar and mainly sit alone everyday with no human contact. That feeling can make you really upset and just makes you want someone with you at any cost of being alone. Hence why he kept people with him some extreme type of BPD loneliness alcohol and paraphernalia. Very upsetting story. i feel sorry for him though i hate what he did.
    Also his first murder only happened because he was going to leave.
    BPD symptom -> fear of abandonment.
    Myself i get angry and upset when people leave he must have had really bad BPD. plus the fact he had a paraphernalia of dead bodys you can see why he did what he did.
    Iv'e read a hell of a lot of books on dahmer infact all of them.
    He was really mentally ill and alone plus the mixture of alcohol was always involved.
    This is my conclusion of why he did what he did.
    interest in dead animals, At a young age. And the anatomy of animals.
    family arguments. Never really a part of the family or just straight ignored because of the arguments his family had.
    Developed BPD after being used in school as a mascot, Mixed with loneliness of family involvement and never had any real friends.
    Began to drink because of this (NOTE: people with bpd struggling with emotions abuse alcohol and drugs).
    At this point he began thinking of someone he could have and didn't have to fight for them to be with them.
    So he probably thought back to the dead animals that didn't move. Began fantasising about humans.
    I believe this happened due to the extreme loneliness this guy had.
    He had noone and just wanted someone to stay.
    This intern lead to paraphernalia. Because the people he wanted were those that didn't move.
    Those who couldn't possibly leave him.
    Now fast forward to the first murder before that.
    So he met him and they got drunk. The guy wanted to leave but dahmer really liked him.
    All above mentioned you can see why he didn't want him to leave so that is why i truly believe he did what he did.
    (Sorry for long message but thank you guys for watching leave a comment on your thoughts on why below)

    Jeffrey Dahmer is a Psychopath. But back then they didn't know what that meant. Not even himself. You can clearly see that he is confused about himself.
    He is responsible for his actions, yes. But that he has no empathy and a lack of fear is not something he chose. So stop asking him if he felt nothing for his victims. He can't.

      Leslie Powers , Ted Bundy didn't blame porn. he said he took full responsibility for what he did, but that porn contributed to his insatiable appetite for harder and harder porn, and that when porn wasn't enough anymore, he resorted to acting it out. seems to me you want to excuse porn as having any negative role at all, when even the porn makers will admit that they have to get harder and more violent to keep up with people's appetites. to say otherwise is a dang lie. it seems most people would be for preventing this type of thing from happening again.

      Ummmm, my post was about how porn did indeed contribute to Ted bundys downfall, and Dahmer's too. Dahmer mentions porn as having contributed, but he LIKE bundy said it's not porns fault, but it did contribute. It's like me saying it's not donuts fault that I'm fat, but it contributed. Don't defend porn, it's bad and will have the same effect on many other young men. Bundy said it best when he said "it's ironic your killing me while society wallows in the very behaviors that created me." Don't worry Leslie, there are many more crazies being created as we speak, and society turns a blind eye to the forces acting upon them. And if your going to tell me that people develop independently of their surroundings, your wrong and science proves it. Kids who are neglected and abused always have major pyschologist problems. To say it's a coincidence is ignorant.

    When he said "I had no intention of hurting them", he meant that he didn't really want to kill them. He wanted someone that would keep him company and fulfill his desires. And of course, since everyone would refuse, then he would kill them. But he didn't enjoy the killing, the hurting. That's why he mostly gave sleeping pills to his victims first and that's why he tried to make a zombie, so that he wouldn't have to kill. That's what he meant.

      Blackwood that's a very well thought out, intelligent explanation. I've been reading hundreds of comments on THIS specific video [from 6:53 am till now - 9:12 am] and yours is the 1st that addresses when he said "I didn't mean to...". I can tell by your conclusion that you stepped back away from the drama, emotional rants about liking him or not, he's evil or not, lying or not and looked at a part of his interview that baffled many. I mean, I DID mutter to myself when I heard him say that...I was saying- uh yeah right! you didn't "mean" to kill how many? didn't mean to beat them to death? didn't mean to inject liquids into their brains?! yeah right!
      But you actually made me look at it from a different view.... not from a victims view nor mine own.

      Skelter The thing is, no one will ever say that whatever they do comes from a good place. It's OK to look for reasons and motivation for his behaviour. Jeffrey seems to be very matter of fact, I think he just wants to share about his world, his desires, his compulsions. From a psychological point of view, this is fascinating.

    • @iamsultana
      @iamsultana 6 років тому

      Skelter Thank you for the sidenote. As for Dahmer's matter-of-fact speaking style, I personally wouldn't accept nothing else. Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer and other gruesome necrophiliacs always spoke very nonchalantly. I mean, they literally had sexual relations with corpses and dismembered human bodies, I think it must have taken a lot to get these people "emotional". For comparison, take a look at Aileen Wuornos. She was always very passionate in her speech, at times seemed incoherent, in general she looked and acted the part (aka the monster). But at the same time she gathered more sympathy because she really seemed like a very, very disturbed woman, which makes it easier for the rest of us to empathize with her and her crimes (killing alleged rapists). She caused a lot of pain but she also suffered from a lot of pain. But when it comes with these guys, they seem so nonchalant, despite the pain they caused to many many families, and that, I think, is the main reason why people get pissed listening to them.

Add the fact the boy LOOKS like a child, and Jeffrey said that they were having a lover's quarrel, now all my red flags are raging, full throttle!! Clue me in: What the hell does the police need to set off their radars? Aren't they trained in this? Maybe they were waiting to be hit on the head with the rubber mallet.
    I would say that the relatives of this boy and the others that came after have a very strong case about the police not doing their job of serving and protecting.

    Whoever the sociologist they have on is is way off base. He feels no empathy. He clearly explained that the reason he wanted them dead/unconscious was because of the convenience it presented. He clearly had an obsession with necrophilia since adolescence. He clearly stated that the reason he would've preferred not to have lived with all of the obsessions which drove his disgusting actions was because of the inconvenient "problems" it caused in his life, not out of any moral repugnance he feels. It's pretty obvious that the reason he's sharing this with the public is not out of a sense of duty but one of apathy as he uses the interviewer as a soundboard to try and logically understand himself as opposed to trying to apologize for his behavior. This criminologist is so dead set on imposing his understanding of empathy when it very clearly doesn't apply to this man.

    • @rhonar7969
      @rhonar7969 6 років тому

      Sociologists must play a role to elicit certain responses. Psychopaths must be handled a certain way so they drop their guard and continue the next part of the game. Its why they are so hard to observe in their natural environment - because that environment is complex deception designed to exploit common human understanding, response and behaviour.

    • @thelittleshamanhealing
      @thelittleshamanhealing 5 років тому +2

      You're absolutely correct. There is no remorse or empathy in this man. Far from, in fact. He attempted to eradicate every vestige of personhood and personality from his victims, to create mindless zombies that would simply be a receptacle for his sexual encounters and require nothing from him on any level. He was attempting to create zombies; to destroy the beauty that is another human being, a person's entire life, personality, history, purpose, future and everything else so that he could create a breathing object he could control and have sex with. In this interview, he specifically describes the rush of power that came with the realization that he could get what he wanted sexually without having to worry about other people's needs - and all he had to do was kill them. To him, it was reasonable - even preferable - to kill people in order to have sex the way he wanted to. It does not get more narcissistic than that. That is what other human beings meant to this man. That's the only use they had in Dahmer's world. He felt that his orgasm was more important than another person's whole _life_ .
      Too many people don't realize that the humanity they believe they are seeing here is their own humanity reflected back to them. For example, he claims he never wanted to hurt anyone and people may read that as being caring because that is how they would mean it. But the truth is that hurting people wasn't the motivation because the other person is seen as an object, not a person. You can't hurt an object, so that would never occur to you. You just use it. Of course he never _wanted_ to hurt them because it never crossed his mind; how his actions would impact them was never considered at all. The only thing that mattered to him was what he wanted. It is the same with when he talks about wanting the victims to stay with him as long as possible. This sounds endearing, but it isn't. It's wanting complete control over another person, regardless of their wishes, will, wants or needs. Yes, he is being honest after a fashion, but it isn't what people think. When you put your own emotion and aside and just listen to what he is saying, it is obvious he feels neither empathy nor remorse, and there is no real connection to other human beings at all.
