I'm pretty sure the resounding vote for Andy was a resounding vote for the immediate buldozing of homeless encampments and bike lanes...true evidence that even a Liberal city is tired of being overrun with woke stupidity.
Mass transit and social regulation and support for home buyers/renters. Unafordability is a death knell for developers and workers alike. The problems are social, the solutions have to be social as well.
You know Canada is finished when places like Halifax have major homeless problems. Atlantic Canada has always been a backwater and attracts little foreign investment in real estate, local economy has always been shit, hence there should be no reason for affordability issues.
"Has always"..... that hasn't been the case in 5+ years. Things change. Ton's of foreign/local investment has made Halifax the second fastest growing city in Canada. Visit sometime its nice
Wow! Thanks for being so honest, you described basically all the problems I face on my daily commute to downtown. This last week was terrible, with closing lanes on Barrington St. 1 hour to drive 5 km is ridiculous. Something I would like to add is the heavy truck traffic through downtown! They don't fit in our beautiful historic city and make traffic even worse.
I swear the Windsor Street exchange will be the death of me! It's like people are in a race to get to the imaginary finish line!! So many inconsiderate drivers these days!! I used to love my city so much but to be honest, I am hating it right now. Oh, and the cell phone use whilst driving is off the charts here!!
We will be moving there in September with three kids for my husbands job for around three years. I’m so nervous about it, I’m going to be looking up the “Pros” next, my biggest concern is safety, unfortunately we have to be located close to the hospital where my husband will be working. Is there any safe neighborhoods in that area? Good schools? Great daycare Centres?
Talking yourself out of a job? Appreciate the honesty. I live in NS, love to visit the Halifax waterfront for a day trip with dinner, but I wouldn’t want to live there. It’s a mini Toronto right now and will get worse soon. The weather in all of NS is horrible, 4 months of nice weather is all you’re guaranteed. And what bugs me most about Halifax is no sunsets; wrong coast which makes the otherwise nice afternoons cold.
We absolutely need more Indians and Chinese here. I'm a smug, liberal Canadian who is morally superior to Americans and I like diversity, especially when it means that I'm typically only served by Indians in my drug store (Lawtons), grocery (Quinpool Superstore and Petes downtown), and of course Canadian Tire.
What did I miss? 🤷🏻♂️

Could have just as easily been titled 'The PROBLEM with Living in Canada.' Country is in the same shape from coast to coast.

Socialism is why the country is fucked

Sunrises? Try getting up earlier.
@@frankblangeard8865 LMAO, I love our sunrises. Been all over the world and there is no place like Nova Scotia
Always makes me laugh when I hear that Canada city is too crowded..
Have they checked the map recently before deciding to build something?
Most of Canada is actually uninhabitable due to perma frost and extreme temperatures. That’s why everything is condensed near the US border
Whats everyones thoughts on Tim Houton?
lying hypocrite....
Slimeball... not very bright.
Why would anyone choose to live there?
Importing more Indians will help
