- After a nice sail from Great Barrier island to Whitianga, we pull the anchor early for a morning sail a few miles around the corner to Cathedral Cove. Arriving with the sunrise we get some beautiful scenes as the sun hits the coastline. We spend some time exploring the Te Whanganui A Hei marine reserve, Motueka island, as well as Gemstone bay, and the south end of Hahei beach. With a dirty easterly sea state set to arrive in a few days and funds running low its time to set sail back home to Mt Maunganui in the Bay Of Plenty.
Great images and love hearing the history of the region. Please keep the videos coming!
Another fab video from "a man with a mullet". On his boat. I'm sitting at anchor here in the Bahamas in the Caribbean. A kiwi long term cruiser making my way home to NZ on my 28ft cutter. I really enjoy your videos, keep them coming..
Doing it is as daunting as sharing it... onya for doing both
You hit the nail on the head mate. Cheers
awesome video
Cheers @sailing_Aotea 🤙
Glad you’re back!
Came for the epic sailing vids, got a geology lesson as well. Win win.
Awesome video again Kris. What a bloke 👊🏽
Thanks Richy glad you enjoyed it!
You doing a good job there, just keep on going...
I was fortunate to sail with a friend from Auckland to Bay of Islands... then we left to Fiji. But I want to return the NZ for an extended sailing trip, 6+ months! Unfortunately wont happen for a few years yet, so ill keep your videos as a virtual tour guide on places to go :). Very beautiful, and thats given I am from Tasmania.
Really enjoying your kiwiana flavour! All the knowledge from your tour guide experience is quality content too. Kia Kaha Bro keep up the Mahi. From my home town too Tauranga moana.
Great visuals of Hahei and Cathedral Cove , I once sailed my old Piver Trimaran down from Gt Barrier Island to Hahei ended up living there for 7 years , had my boat moored at Flax mill Bay . In the early 80’s :-) I hear they will have the track open before Christmas !!
Good to see you back with some more content Chris. You're not the first sailing vlogger to lose your drone, bit of a bugger all the same. I looked out for you round the marina, but didn't spot you. Hope you got some go9d sailing this season.
Epic video fella.
Another good watch Kris!
Cheers mate 🙏
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place !!
My pleasure 🙏 thanks for watching.
Wow that really was snapper soup you were swimming in, never seen them that thick
Beautiful video thanks for letting me know that place exist.
Best regards from Mexico.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's definitely worth a visit!
Epic video mate, the info on the area was well woven into your story well done! Gutted for the drone though!
This one's great!
